This was a great compilation! I would like more videos like this, as I frequently fall asleep to longer compilation videos just like this!

The storyboards, graphics and scripts are the most creative with these tales. High quality production. Truly love their work.

Thank you for Viking warfare content. If anyone's very interested in I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's Scandinavian warfare series, it's the best intro to the period. Keep up the great work

The Jorvik Centre in York, U.K. has a really good display of a Viking village complete with sounds and smells. You ride through it in a little car. Lots of the old buildings are sitting on the plots that Vikings laid out.

The bible says God is all knowing & all powerful so obviously it was his will that his followed be slaughtered by viking raiders, otherwise he would have intervened.

So what do "men of God" need with gold, etc? "Be content with covering and food/ drink". ? // In the Synoptic Gospels , "Silver and gold have I none" and then a miracle. // For all you "church types" out there, the synoptics are in the New Testament, the Bible.

Couldn't get past the first 3 min. when there was already 3 things said that were untrue. It's like they got the script off from Wikipedia or something...
The "viking" age started in the mid 600's, just not in England yet. They were raiding east until the riches there ran out and the Rus started building adequate defenses.
Also, the main reason for the Viking age is marriage. During the areas former wars and famines, it became law to take many brides, as there were too many women per man. Fast forward a hundred or so years and suddenly there were WAY too many men to women...and in order to buy land and maybe a bride, one had to be wealthy enough to do it...hence the beginning of raiding...to the east...for petes sake. This is well known but always skipped over on these psudeo-wiki based documentaries...

Sometimes a little bit of broader knowledge can go a long way. Did Vikings REALLY eat poisonous plants as vegetables or flour, or did they use plants as MEDICINE and researchers first making the discovery didn't think them capable of being smart enough for that? Many "poisonous" plants are actually highly medicinal in specific doses.
Honestly this is one of the things I hate most about ancient history. "Educated guesses" about how impliments were used, gender roles were filled, goods were exchanged, cleanliness was practiced - are all often subject to the biases of the ones guessing.
For instance...you could lose all your rights if you made another viking dirty, but some (well-known to likely be biased) man wrote of them that they all blow snot rockets in a bowl and then wash their faces with it and suddenly the lore becomes "ok they were super anal and liked to be clean but SOMETIMES they did abhorrent gross stuff that made them filfthy on purpose" and popular fictions reinforce this supposed ritual.

1:22 Thats not a fair assessment IMV. The Christian Monks of Britain also devoted themselves to peaceful living (thou shall not kill) and therefore didnt even have an army to defend themselves. IMO its cowardly of the Vikings (which by their faith views etc they would depise) to attack a force that literally cannot defend themselves.
