I have a 1966. Sometime in its previous life, it acquired a Rochester carb conversion and lost its original oil bath air cleaner. I don’t like that, however it runs well , so will stay for now. I’m currently cleaning the rust out of the fuel tank. Those clear, easy to change fuel filters are a god send! Mine also has the 16” wheels, and would not look right to me now with 15s”. I’m enjoying the content.👍
I enjoyed the very diplomatic description of the chinese Zenith carb! Went through a few of those and they warped endlessly- I got quite good at flatting the faces off and rebuilding them.. I have never regretted the SU upgrade and would highly recommend it. Your original carb may well have been a Solex.
Really enjoying the content mate. Keep going!
Thanks!

looking and sounding sharp! very spring-like- 😉
The exhaust sounds like it’s blowing on the down pipe as well as the tappets tbh. Replace the nuts with long brass ones, they work much better.
