I really love Bolt Action. I think what this video missed is that there are quite a few extra arms, heads, weapons, and equipment on the infantry sprues. When I am putting together a new army, I begin by creating an army list and build what I need first, and then all the options that I might need. For example a light machine gun plus a loader for each squad. But also not forgetting to make a full squad or section that has assault weapons. And I also look at the small teams. The US Infantry sprue contains what you need to make a bazooka team, and a sniper team. Generally you would never take more than one each or these small teams, so that's all I make. The extra bazooka looks great when you want to add it as eye candy for a tank or a transport, and you could even use it to help build interesting terrain or objectives. I take it back, I am glad you didn't go down this rabbit hole. 😛
I frequently don't see the mold lines until after I prime the model. Plastic cement is great for giving you the extra time to adjust the pose. I have a hard time sing super glue. I end up gluing the model to my figures and then pull it model apart when I try to let go; because of this, I hate resin models because you must use super glue instead of plastic cement.
I was always so frustrated working with metal and resin until I got the Magic Super Glue Activator by Army Painter. It hardens everything almost instantly and prevents me from sticking myself to the models!
Man, I hate to say it but one of the most impressive things in this video besides not slicing you thumb open was the fact you didn’t superglue any of those tiny parts to your fingers!
This video made me think about something odd that I do. I'm left handed but when cleaning mold lines, using a Dremel, or using my pin vice I use my right hand 😂 not sure why but it just felt more comfortable when I started the hobby this last year.
I wonder if there is some sort of protective you could wear that still gives good grip/feeling for the hobby knife. I’ve already got a war wound on one finger from a childhood attempt at cutting cardboard while watching tv and I do my best not to repeat it.
I hate putting miniatures together. HATE it. I'm old and i miss one piece pewter miniatures. LoL. I know the plastic can have much better detail but my big hands make it hard

The handle on that knife is really solid, love that it really allows you to get a good grip near the blade while still being safe.
Totally Agree, The shape is really comfortable and allows for lots of different grips to make sure you can really get comfortable while holding it!
I had some 3d printed parts to also customize so this is great to see the possibilities i can make with my bolt action boxes

For some reason I never used clippers, I always used the hobby knife when removing the mins. Clippers is the way to go.
Clipping minis off of sprues is the chillest part of the hobby.
I love the sound the plastic makes when it hits the desk!
Having built and customized some Shadows of Brimstone this was helpful

Lots of practice and patience!

Customizing my figures is a whole rabbit hole I haven't dived into yet....
It's a fun side of the hobby!
This is something I am starting to get into no mini is safe lol
Flinched a bit when cutting towards the thumb
It's a bit nerve wracking at first for sure!
I have a couple friends who play Bolt Action…I think it may be time for me to join them!
I think you may be right!
Cut away, not towards your hands/ fingers/ or legs !!!
I am always careful while cutting towards my thumb! Slow and easy.

Tweezers help me quite a bit!
