If you crochet the hair through then braid it gives a more seamless look especially with color. She did a great job I’m currently doing mine 😄

Everytime I add oil to the rubber bands like that, they breaks,(. I guess my b supply selling old rubberbands.

Try using grease. That's what I use and they don't break.
