Wow. Actually admitting to using art theft isn't exactly a good look. And yes, AI "art generation" is provably based on theft. Sadly this is going to force me to unsub, and I feel the need to say that as a creator, you should absolutely be ashamed of yourself. Do better.

And this actually looks absolutely horrible for this UA-cam account since as an artist you would expect other artists with this much influence would be better educated and at least stay out of this problem???? Instead of supporting and maybe even paying for STOLEN ART??? It's been months. It's proven that midjourney is one of the apps that does not regulate their database. ALLOWING ai 'artists' to use stolen art. Not even their own art. Not crediting, paying or asking the original artists for permission.

Usually I hate all the artifacts of AI generated video, like whole objects poping in an out of existence, the extra fingers, etc. But something about this song really works with it.
The fact that this was made by an AI both amazes and terrifies me to no end. Technology had really come a long way!

However, I understand that there may be some concerns about the impact that AI could have on society. As a creator who uses AI technology, I always strive to use it responsibly and ethically, while continuing to push the boundaries of what's possible. In time help other creators utilize the tools to make awesome content for their followers.

@@LPTheGas Consider, for instance, the anime style this was done in. Consider a given anime movie made by non-AI means. It is definitely copying the style of all the predecessors that the artists watched before making it. Did they license & compensate all those influences? Of course not. Likewise, in music, consider any given piece. It is just as much copying previous songs in the same genre or style, yet without direct plagiarism, the predecessors don't get licensed & compensated. Even directly copying small snatches isn't a problem (consider Mr. Brightside…).
This is how *all* creative work is done. Artists learn from the past and tweak it.

i am sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Midjourney is proven to not regulating their database. What you are seeing right now might very well be stolen. So if you enjoy craft laundering.. go ahead. But if you want to support human artists, the original creators, the ones that are being unpaid, stolen from. That maybe yu might educate yourself more? Midjourney is included in a lawsuit. If you are interested i can't share some very good Instagram accounts that teach a lot about the dangers of ai generated images etc. And what needs to change for it to be able to ethically exist next to us artists. I'm an artists and it's terrifying knowing that people like this UA-cam account support people potentially stealing my art. I am struggling to have enough food while an unskilled artist just gets to make more money off it then me.
Great example of a centaur. The horse automates the movement and adds weight to the body and the human provides direction and adds complexity to one’s actions.
The computer provides a suggestion based on tons of data to automates the creation of a pattern. The User picks and alters what is valuable from the output patter and fine tunes it to be marketable to human pallets 😮.

It didn't really integrate well with the rest of the picture. Maybe using a similar method to what they used at Corridor Digital to make the AI peter in the same style as the picture it should be integrated into would give a better result.

See, if there were extended credits showing us who provided the assets (artists) with their consent/more information about how the ai and art was used, I wouldn't mind. You wouldn't be stealing but compiling a set of agreed materials.
Even AI Hollens is fine. It just looks like 3d modeling.
But the lack of detail is a little off-putting. My thing with AI and tech is that it's great! but it's a tool. Tools can be used to help or hurt people.
I'm just hoping there was proper usage and that no theft was involved

There's nothing stolen in this video. It's all AI generated art. Clearly the prompts include lofi or ghibli style art to get that look, but absolutely nothing was stolen.
@@Thedarkbunnyrabbit The AI imagery scraping ignores licensing rules by pretending it is done by fair use. But fair use law prohibits use that has a negative impact on the profitability of the original art. It's not exactly stealing, but very close.
@@Test-nj4fx It doesn't 'ignore' them, it doesn't violate any copyright laws whatsoever in the first place to need to follow fair use. But if it did, it's fully and completely within fair use. Not a loophole, just factually completely within the bounds of fair use. Attempting to argue that what it does has some impact on the profitability of any of its source images is literal insanity. Don't come at me with poorly researched and misapplied copyright law. It is not 'very close' to stealing. It isn't stealing at all and no sane person would ever even suggest it's doing anything close to stealing.

A lot of people were scared that automated factories would take over during the Industrial Revolution as well. There will always be people who want products made by actual humans, even if automated technology does exist.

The most extreme example, most art AI blindly grabs online photos including ones take abusively of both adults and children. Including from the dark web. This issue is far beyond automating art production.
I'm worried about the same thing. I'm already hearing from artists that either their art has been stolen by AI or they're losing clients because it's "cheaper" to make AI art instead of hiring someone. And now with ChatGPT, AI generated books are being created, which worries me for myself and fellow authors. (All that being said, I love your music, Peter, and it was fascinating to see how this video came out :-) )

I just believe in the adoption of technology being inevitable and I’d rather craft the narrative than allow it take over without being able to shape it. I refuse to be a victim and would rather champion it so I can understand it and help craft the future… than let it ‘happen’ to me. Cause sadly nothing is going to stop it.

@@MirA12334 it’s such an interesting topic because I see both sides of it as well as an artists fear. It will be a pretty monumental case for what identifies as fair use, since people’s actual work isn’t being reproduced and it’s “merely” their style. Artwork isn’t technically being stolen.

How would someone even ask a computer to do this? How many directions and images did you need to provide to get this consistent artwork and storyline? I think it's especially cool when your singing head appears on the TVs and billboards from time to time. Did you tell the AI to do that?
Basically it looks at lots of existing artworks, and memorizes the relations between small parts, and then reshuffles it all into something that seems newish, at least on a superficial level. Imagine cutting up an image into tiny puzzle pieces, and then reassembling it in a new way to make a new image. In reality it is not magic, it can only work if it pulls from existing good works, but can never invent new ideas or surpass the quality of real art, it is only an imitation.
Building and leeching on existing art is why AI is so controversial. A lot of these "trainings" were done without the artists consent, attempting to displace artists by generating works using their very own existing portfolios, all the while the companies responsible for this constantly evaded legal responsibility and were extremely manipulative and two faced about it. Telling non artists it is a "tool" and "innovation", while basically flipping off actual artists and going behind their backs to train on their works. You will find very little support for AI from artists, Hollens is a rare exception and a surprising one at that.
What I'm curious about is how much editing you had to do in order for everything to flow so smoothly

So now anyone can be an animator not actually being one, being an artist never learning how to draw. Imagine AI that downloads all your songs, all the voices of other singers and then meshing them up into an ai-created music albums non-stop, with ai-generated person, that will sing it? Still planning on voting for ai-generated rip-off of a human talent?

Just when you give up the fight is when the very thing you fought for comes right to you, naturally.
The entire reason art is impressive is because it's made by humans. It's the decades of practise, dedication and sheer passion and love that goes into honing a skill, that's the impressive part. It's the same reason it's impressive when a human can remember 100 digits of pi, but it's not impressive when a computer can remember 100 (or even a million) digits of pi. It's a computer, it does it effortlessly with no hard work.
The song was beautiful, and the art was pretty, but I just don't care about it when it wasn't made by people.
