I'm glad one of us is excited. I'm still upset about what they did to the NCR. Not only destroying them - that would have been okay as an impactful story beat but as an offscreen event. It was very disrespectful and the timeline doesn't make sense despite the mental gymnastics that they have tried to perform after the fact to explain it. As I have mentioned in previous posts I have gone into the Bethesda era of Fallout assuming they were going to make changes and that some of these changes I probably wasn't going to like but it's their IP they are going to do what they are going to do. Having said that I was surprised at how upset I was with what the tv show (and by extension Bethesda) did. I've lost all excitement for the show and won't be in a rush to tune in for season 2.
I think they have enough ambiguity left to backwalk that addition a bit if they are smart. There are a lot of places besides the capital where the NCR is strong, so having a new capital and show them coming back in especially now there is power in the region could still make sense. Do I think they will do that? Perhaps, since the current team on it seem dedicated to a good product, but we'll see. They already chose to do some mental gymnastics as you said rather than double down iirc so that is promising.

For some reason stalker 2 somewhat reminds me of the older fallout games, with a huge amount of detail in the world, and many npcs. The world just feels alive, unlike bethesdas newer games like starfield
stalker 2 is what bethesda fallout could try to be if they wanted to try making a fallout 1 or 2 remake or spiritual successor. I would want to see that even if i do like the lighthearted side of fallout
Your shameless. Gamers cause there own problems is truth. Stalker vs Fallout 3.... we had this argument already Fallout 3 blew Stalker away... Stalker had good mechanics but bad gameplay and a bland world... gameplay is better in Stalker 2, but the world is still bland Trees and Grass and chicken shacks. What are you hyping? I like Stalker too, but it's very visually boring compared to Fallout 76, Stalker has better gameplay but a more boring adventure, because Stalker has very little imagination. Both series are known to be buggy. Which makes sense as both games are massive. The hate for Bethesda is annoying when you attack Bethesda's good idea's, you are crying wolf. You attack everything Bethesda's makes that put them on the map then try and glorify autistic game design nobody cared about in the earlier Bethesda games. Your actively creating a smokescreen, but we have this thing called results. Your gonna get jumped by casuals again if you keep hating. I remember when casuals had to shut Bethesda haters up after you guys were exposed for shilling a vastly inferior game in The Outer Worlds the Bethesda killer and were salty Bethesda made a good TV show.... shut up all ready you been lost, you Bethesda haters are bitter and annoying.
I’d love to see a fallout game set in Alaska. Think a brotherhood team sent to investigate rumours of a vault filled with military pre war tech from like fallout 3 dlc, something happens and you’re wounded and alone so you need to find out what happened while still looking for the vault. You can have some interesting survival mechanics with the cold and some winterised enemies, I think that would be pretty cool.
Biggest reason I respect Matty so hard is that he had the opportunity to 1 on 1 with Todd himsellf. But, even when the time comes, he still stood up for what he believed in when Shattered Space came out.

Shortly after Fallout 3 was completed, Bethesda allowed a different studio to use Fallout 3's mechanics and assets and make a new game. They finished it in a very short period of time, made small mechanical improvements, and told a phenomenal story. Fallout New Vegas is an amazing game. Then they never ever used this model again. I really, truly wish that Bethesda would stop reinventing the wheel for every single bloody game. I would much rather have more games that used the Fallout New Vegas model than having decades between each and every game. How many new games on the level of New Vegas could we have had that never got made? Not only for Fallout but also for the Elder Scrolls?
nah...NV was ok but it had no dungeon's....the map was pretty empty, it had a handful of good spots but the CL outposts were literal a few tents, half the locations were a shack or small cave..thats why it was finised in a couple years..BGS makes a lot of complex locations like in fallout 3, skyrim, fallout 4...now starfield was ok but its kinda boring after a while, 76 sucks its not a decent fallout game, made with no human npc's to fillo ut dungeon's and settlments...horrible game...but they could definately outsource a fallout game still but NV fell a bit short as a bethesda game.

I am SO PUMPED for fallout season 2 and fallout 5. I love fallout as much if not more than you Mattie. I even have the same fallout themed xbox controller, I also got my sticks blue and the d pad in gold
I would have thought a remaster was relatively easy to churn out in time for the TV series, and neatly skirts around trying to coordinate what the show's doing story wise with the game, since 3's story is already set in stone.
I really wish that this should happen way more often (even if it this moment is accidental). Make either the game or the movie to start the intrigue of the world, and then the other jumps into that universe somewhere else with some references to each other
I just want Fallout 1 & 2 ports to consoles with great controller support. I would also love to see Larian Studios make an isometric Fallout game if we are talking spinoffs. That would be truly legendary.
I really wish they'd let out the franchise like they did with obsidian and see what other developers come up with. Could have strict lore guidelines or a non cannon warning when you boot up the game. I think a red dead rockstar fallout would be great, or a halo wars type fallout, or a murder mystery. It's such a good world to explore and no exploring is being done
I understand wanting to have answers to fallout mysteries, but I feel that having concrete answers ruins some of the magic of the game. Part of the fun is being able to speculate based on the logs you find as to how the war started. If you get a concrete answer, then it doesn't matter.
12:21 that's just copium. Of course it would've been better if they had a game(s) ready in line with the TV show. They just effed up. It'd be a decade if they stick with the current release/dev cycle between Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Seriously just let other (capable) developers a crack on the franchise.
Maybe 14 years ago they should've done that, yeah. The time has passed and if Obsidian tried to make another Fallout game today it would be a disaster (not that New Vegas wasn't already a half-disaster on launch anyway)
@DustySiren to be fair fo NV was made in 18 months because bethesda wanted skyrim to be released in 2011 so not as much time to make everything perfect
They need to figure out how to have 3 teams. each working on one of the three franchises. They could work to a 3 year cycle with each game getting 9 years development. And to keep developers from burning out on one franchise, they could have a swap set up. If you want to go to one of the others, you have to find someone to trade with that you could swap work with.
Part of Vault-Tec is is the mystery of it, i really hope they dont over exposure it! Just like G-Man, i want to know but i dont NEED to know everything.
No one ever mentions that realistically, Bethesda brought very little to the TV show. 3, 4, and 76 are all set in the east. The TV show is out west using Fallout lore from the purchased assets from 1, 2 and New Vegas. So far, the only thing Bethesda is doing is taking a sledge hammer to that lore by destroying Shady Sands and it looks like, New Vegas.
I wonder if we'll get to somehow learn more about Muldaver in Fallout season 2 oh yeah and Bethesda should add to Fallout 5 a playable Ghoul race like they did with Fallout 76 but they should make it so to where players can create a Ghoul character in the character creation menu and make it so to where players can slowly become a Ghoul if they get irradiated enough
The problem with Bethesda as of now is how much in queue their upcoming IPs which takes so much time that needs a secondary team to make for Fallout specifically.
If only Microsoft owned a studio that created one of the best rpg experiences in the fallout franchise to do something with fallout while Bethesda takes it time.
I don’t think Phil is completely wrong. Considering Bethesda’s recent history… would you expect Fallout to be good… especially if rushed? I don’t have much confidence in that. So maybe us missing it while overlooking recent history is some kind of win for them.
A fallout new vegas remaster would be the perfect game to release with season 2 of the tv show. 🤞 I could see them releasing fallout 3 remastered at the same time. They could pack both games together on the physical release. I can only hope.

Like Starfield, they may outsource much of the work but they have too many Bethesda studios to not be selfish - since they don't have any other cash-cow IPs, and they don't have the creativity to make good new ones (Starfield).
@@Moderation_Dodger Wouldn't all of their resources be focused on the elder scrolls 6 at this point though?
@@Moderation_DodgerNo other cash-cow IP’s is crazy.
I’m pretty sure Skyrim is the reason Bethesda was such an expensive purchase.
The Elder Scrolls has always sold better than Fallout. It is their biggest cash cow.
Can you imagine a starfield where every planet is a fallout 4
Bethesda has no future
Keep that same energy when elder scrolls comes out don’t play it either
"We didn't have anything and that was actually a good thing!" - Phil clown music starts playing Spencer 🤡👎
*delusional people running that franchise, so much copium and deflection
I’m amazed how optimistic Matty still is for a Fallout remake / remaster, especially after how Bethesda further proved just how incompetent they are with the massively botched FO4 next-gen update! 🤯 Do we really think they actually have it in them to do it justice? I sure don’t!
Bethesda is NEVER gonna let another developer handle a Fallout spin off considering how Obsidian showed them up with New Vegas.
I feel like listening to anything Bethesda officially says is like huffing unicorn farts.
For some reason stalker 2 somewhat reminds me of the older fallout games, with a huge amount of detail in the world, and many npcs. The world just feels alive, unlike bethesdas newer games like starfield
I agree always see stalker as like a slight different fallout without the VATS feature
@@Gamer1990100I wish VATS was in Stalker 2, cus that god damn stick drift is killing me. Hopefully the patch will be ready in a day or two.
stalker 2 is what bethesda fallout could try to be if they wanted to try making a fallout 1 or 2 remake or spiritual successor. I would want to see that even if i do like the lighthearted side of fallout
@@alexanderulv3886 that's an in-game bug too
Your shameless.
That actually sounds incredibly cool!
Bethesda better not fumble this
They will. 100% they will.
They have no competition, why try?
I was a straight-up stalker during my first 18 hours of gameplay in Fallout 76. Crazy but it was fun.
No one gets me more pumped for a fallout remaster than you matty.... it's like an annual tradition!
HOW TF DID I FORGET YOU GOT TO SIT DOWN WITH TODD HOWARD HIMSELF?!
Biggest reason I respect Matty so hard is that he had the opportunity to 1 on 1 with Todd himsellf. But, even when the time comes, he still stood up for what he believed in when Shattered Space came out.
If Phil wants to please the stockholders, give the franchise to Larian and they'll be set for the next two failures that Bethesda will produce
1:14 it was at this very moment I thought of Fallout 76
CDPR is on full production for the Witcher 4 , thats the future
Future for the Witcher franchise sure
Not with their DEI initiative it ain't.
After cyberpunk i'm not hopeful.
@@NoCommie Launch wise, yes. But after they got the time they needed, the game is sweet.
@@StoneAgeWarfareThat and allegedly a former Sweet Baby Inc. writer has joined CDPR.
Sad we have to look elsewhere for new "fallout" experiences like mods (Fallout London) , and other games (Stalker 2, Atomfall)
The series was a pleasant surprise. Not flawless but still quite entertaining
Cant wait for a season 2 cramble under its own weight
This will bring me so much joy its unreal. Finally some vindication
so basically, I'll be dead before FO5 releases but my grandkids MIGHT get to play it..awesome..plugging in my PS3 so I can play FO3 and FONV while I'm still alive 😏
I'm happy that the TV show turned out so popular and that existing fallout fans seem to like it. I haven't watched it yet but i'll watch it after season 2 ends!
@@westoftherockies Ah, right, of course. So THAT'S why absolutely no one enjoys Fallout New Vegas. How silly of me! The vast number of people calling it the best Fallout game or one of the best RPGs of all time must have been a strange dream or something.
Thank you for correcting me with your expert opinion. LOL LOL LOL LOL
I am SO PUMPED for fallout season 2 and fallout 5. I love fallout as much if not more than you Mattie. I even have the same fallout themed xbox controller, I also got my sticks blue and the d pad in gold
I appreciate the Bethesda news lately!
I would have thought a remaster was relatively easy to churn out in time for the TV series, and neatly skirts around trying to coordinate what the show's doing story wise with the game, since 3's story is already set in stone.
I really wish that this should happen way more often (even if it this moment is accidental). Make either the game or the movie to start the intrigue of the world, and then the other jumps into that universe somewhere else with some references to each other
Iv been subbed to you since the fallout 4 announcement countdown! Your great
Why wait for BGS to make a new fallout when we got the real fallout right around the corner.
I can only hope that's true, because I really, really, really don't want to go to work anymore.
Don't be a crybaby. People have been saying that shit for centuries. You're a coward and a moron.
12:05 star field just couldn't fill those massive shoes left by Mass Effect.
God i cant wait to hear Big Iron blared through my TV at maximum volume
The two companies who could really make the next big fallout (or in-fact should both get a version) are Larian and CD Project Red
I dont want to hear shit about a new Fallout game until I have a physical copy of TES6 in my hands.
Fr... Bethesda is a joke
No literally. These new Bethesda fans that came just for Fallout are killing me rn
At this point man is a Remaster even worth it? I just don't see any value in a remaster for fallout.
Love you Matty, I find you a kindred spirit. Keep it up.
76 is amazing lol as a longtime WoW and Destiny player, 76 scratches an itch I didn’t know I had lol. Can’t wait for the raid.
funny seeing a fallout set w a ford raptor sitting in the middle of it lmao
Well for Thanksgiving, I’ll be playing fallout new Vegas with the family
I have photos from 2013 at that hotel in Baker Ca! That place is real creepy especially at night
As soon as I saw mrmatty with fallout I never clicked faster in my life
They should just let Obsidian do Fallout New Vegas 2 or a Fallout San Francisco or something like that
They might not want to. They have Outer Worlds now, which is Fallout in space.
@@wavion2outer worlds didn’t hit. Didn’t like the “linear feel” of the game.
Maybe 14 years ago they should've done that, yeah. The time has passed and if Obsidian tried to make another Fallout game today it would be a disaster (not that New Vegas wasn't already a half-disaster on launch anyway)
@DustySiren i mean idk how we could say whether or not itd be good but itd at least be a plan. 10+ years between releases isnt sustainable.
I am so beyond excited! I just need them to release the first season on 4k bluray already… getting worried
Phil's point is powerful. Even season 2 will tap dance around You. And what you will do. Soon.
As long as tod and his team is there that future is gonna be always disappointment
Besthesda’s biggest mistake was becoming complacent with pumping 76 with updates and dev time instead of an actual Fallout game.
Your Reaching Matty! Team Folon is the only company that will make a Fallout game... Let's not forget how dirty Bethesda did them.
I don’t care what anybody says I love Fallout and I love Bethesda. I’m excited to see what the future holds for fallout
Nice, Matty. Appreciate the videos.
They need to let another studio do a spin off in Fallout:New Orleans
The problem with Bethesda as of now is how much in queue their upcoming IPs which takes so much time that needs a secondary team to make for Fallout specifically.
They just need to hire Josh Sawyer as game director and do a Fallout 4 spinoff game ala London
I’ve never seen a company that HATES making money as much as Bethesda Game Studios.
First Bethesda bungles FO76, then Starfield craters. If they blow this next Fallout installment…I think it’s over.
Don't get ahead of yourself they have TES VI to blow first.
The next fallout better be dark gritty and violent we dont need another veilgaurd incident
If only Microsoft owned a studio that created one of the best rpg experiences in the fallout franchise to do something with fallout while Bethesda takes it time.
It’s ok, I feel like Stalker 2 is going to scratch that old Bethesda rpg/fallout itch for the foreseeable future
I don’t think Phil is completely wrong. Considering Bethesda’s recent history… would you expect Fallout to be good… especially if rushed? I don’t have much confidence in that. So maybe us missing it while overlooking recent history is some kind of win for them.
What i wouldn't give for a spin-off game right now!
That town which inspired nova does a fallout day every year around this time so could be that too
Sweet, flashbacks for Mr house.
A fallout new vegas remaster would be the perfect game to release with season 2 of the tv show. 🤞 I could see them releasing fallout 3 remastered at the same time. They could pack both games together on the physical release. I can only hope.
That memory den stuff, that is such a missed opportunity.
I wasn't exited when I saw New Vegas. I was (and still am) terrified on how bad Todd will maul it for his humongous ego
