Jon mess (dirty vocals) is the epitome of controlled chaos. He’s very mellow and sings exactly like that on stage and doesn’t over exert himself. Keep doing DGD, they are amazing. So many awesome tracks
When I said the heavy vocal aren't as intense live, I was talking about the clean singer. He hits much higher notes and does some screams in the studio version.
Jon is honestly just so good that's how he always performs lol You can tell it's not faked because of Tilian (who still kills it), but Jon is 100% legit
Now youve gotta do "Inspire the Liars" So about this video.... it was a show they did on the Tower Bridge in their hometown of Sacramento, California. it was $20 to watch it online but it was taped. and as far as the music, what i read was that the music wasnt live either. they recorded it live and then performed over it like when they do a music video. NOT sure if thats what they did BUT i do know they sound amazing live and Tilian (clean vocals) sounds just like he does on albums. Jon (unclean) actually always looks like hes not really trying.
about how the screamer looks "relaxed", if you see them live then youll never see a chiller dude just standing in one spot effortlessly belting sick lines. it kinda sucks from a viewer standpoint how boring he is live, but he sounds album-perfect for most all live sets, so it's a good tradeoff
I just saw them live in omaha the other day and I have to disagree. The body movements and goofy fucking butt jiggles he was doing we’re entertaining as fuck! Every time he wasn’t screaming, he was just dancing around in the goofiest ways. Even doing Tilians dance moves with his own robotic flair lmao Edit: Still very much sounded studio quality, even with the emotions that have to be running through the band right now. They all fucking killed it.
@@tophfb that's dope they're getting more into the groove! I've seen them a couple dozen times so far, and they've always been very perfect audiowise, and typically stand in one spot. Glad to hear they've been more active elsewhere. Also probably doesnt help that I'm typically the last show of the tours lol!

Welcome to the DGD rabbit hole… 😂 Inspire the liars has to be next… you’ll get some poppy but you’re just in for a ride. It’s a fun song and music video. They’re very unique. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned in their comments yet but DGD is technically considered Swancore… a whole genre created by Will Swan in the band.. there’s a few bands that are Swancore but its just a particular style. I’m not gonna get too into it since I’m not the biggest expert to explain that. But I’m super excited you digged it. Will definitely be back to see more DGD reactions! 👍🏼

They had to cancel their tour due to covid so this was a live stream concert. But I’ve seen them live twice and they are amazing. John Mess is awesome and as casual he was in this video he is live lol the mothership album is top tier, then I would go for artificial selection.
You should do summertime gladness from this same live performance. If you want a heavier style, try philosopher king or chucky vs the giant tortoise. Both bangers.
I think the facing is because the guitarist who’s looking to the side also sings I guess if he faces straight, there could be problem sound related with the three microphones facing the same direction
I don’t want to burst anyones bubble but yes it’s technically “fake”. they weren’t singing this live on the bridge. This is just a music video to the live recording they made for the song
Yes more Dance Gavin Dance please!! Yes "inspire the liars", I would even recommend a lyric video if you care more about the music. And I say that because the video is very distracting. It's good and worth a watch but there's alot going on and also some backstory that you haven't been introduced to yet. Maybe also check out "Prisoner" or "We Own the Night".
