The comment about "Swiss Cheese" made me laugh out loud! So true :D! I once explained this to two of my American friends and they were hilariously shell-shocked, haha ;)!
One of the best travel videos I have seen. Zurich has been on my bucket list for a long time. Is it true that to visit Zurich, it is about $250 a day? Place to stay plus food, attractions, and other expenses?
Well done and well commented! Of course, there are many more nice places and things to see in Zurich. Example: the "Oepfelchammer". Built in 1357 and used as some kind of pub since 1801. You can actually touch wooden beams from the 1300's. They also play a funny drinking game there. If you successfully drink a glass of wine hanging from one of these old wodden beams, you can carve your name into the wood. Just look on UA-cam for "balkenprobe".
I've read your information below. Since I live in Zurich, I gotta destroy your tourist illusions :) Zurich may be known for the best quality of life, but don't let yourself be fooled. In reality theses statistics were only made with rich people from Zurich, excluding the middle and lower class people... Here you have to pay up to 2000.- for a modern apartment which is big enough to feel comfortable in. If you earn about 4000.- a month like me, that's not really a good life... :) You still have to pay about 300-400.- for insurance which is obligatory. But you still didn't eat anything after all...and everyone knows that eating in Switzerland costs about 20.- a day... In the end of the day, swiss middle sectioned people only live for working, paying bills and sleeping. Rich people here still like to save money and take other people away the payable apartments... In Holland this wouldn't be possible at all, because the market of apartments is cut into a market for rich and a market for weak people. Rich people can't get a cheap apartment, as well as weak people can't rent expensive apartments. Here in Switzerland even getting an expensive apartment means you have to outpace about 100 other candidates. And these other candidates are managers, bankers, and and and... In Zurich, when it comes to get an apartment, it's only about "who has the best income"..that means you will never get a good apartment earning 4000.- (most of the people earn even less), because there will alway be a manager or banker who wants to save money even if they don't need to, they're just stingy. If you don't want to have competitor, you can go for an apartment costing 3500.-, but they wouldn't even sign a contract for you after they checked your income. Finding a usable apartment here takes up to 1 year. I know for you guys Switzerland seems to be an innocent little country, but believe me: There are a lot of things going wrong here, and I would never reccomend to move to Switzerland at all... But still: I like your video!! :) Subscribed! :D You can also check mine if you want, it's a little more from the other side of Zurich (West) Hope you like it. All the best
+ch-traveladdict Thank you so much for that insight into the real Zurich for real people, extremely interesting and says a lot about not only Zurich but so many cities of the world -- the same thing is going on everywhere, but worse in some areas like yours that are so "wealthy" to begin with. London is the next-best example of what you describe, supposedly the city most of the world would like to work in, but an expensive hell for those there, worsened by crowding and transit congestion. I'm afraid I accepted the story in the media, "world's best" and then visit as a tourist when it looks wonderful, but reality is something else. Many thanks for your revelation of what is going down.
+ch-traveladdict ah ok. Yes your are right, he probably is just refering to the Niederdorf. I lived in Zuerich for 22 years, I am a born Zuercher from Seebach :)
+gipsi2001 That's right, train station to Grossmünster, then back on other side via Lindenhof and Bahnhofstrasse, eat at Hiltl, then to station for ride back to our home base in Luzern. It is a delightful day-trip for the visitor.
this is a beautiful video,One of my dreams is to visit
Zurich!!!
It's very nice think

one thing you notice about all the Swiss towns you visit is no litter on the streets...unlike many other large towns and cities....
Excellent job!

Yes about $250 per day, assuming per person, sharing hotel room, to enjoy decent food&drink and visit a museum. Maybe $200 on a tight budget.

Nice Vid, but Fondue isn't an appetizer;-)
BUSCO A HELENA SULLO PAROLINI DE ZURICH, POPR AÑOS.
Lovely documentary. However I have to say that it takes a lot longer to walk from one end of town to the other then just 15 minutes.......
+gipsi2001 I guess he meant the city centre. You can easy walk from on end to the other in 15minutes. Zurich is very small.
