    They were right, he still didn't understand that the company didn't own the aircraft. It's incredibly simply. If the company goes bankrupt, he still owns an aircraft. If the aircraft is in the company name the investor can sell it and get part of their investment back.

    • @ebojfmdboojoh4023
      @ebojfmdboojoh4023 4 роки тому +12

      Well you are partly correct. If a company goes bust then it would be the official reciever who sells the assets not shareholders/investers. Any creditors or anyone with a charge over assets would be paid first before shareholders. So if the company is in debt then it is likely the shareholders will not recoup their investment.

    • @elastronaute1198
      @elastronaute1198 4 роки тому +13

      yeah basically any assets the company owns de-risk it for the investor

    • @AnyoneCanSee
      @AnyoneCanSee 4 роки тому +13

      @@ebojfmdboojoh4023 - It was a UA-cam comment, how much information regarding different scenarios do you expect? Actually, the official receiver isn't usually called in when a company declares insolvency. They only come in if it reaches the court due to someone suing the company for bad debt. A company that is losing money can wind itself up. You declare your own assets and sell them to pay off debt. Yes, if their debt exceeded their assets then the debtors come first. However, this company is going to offer site seeing tours and flights on their plane so they would be unlikely to have many debts as they do not have suppliers to their business or rental on a shop like, say clothing store. So obviously if the company owns a plane worth £1 million or whatever it was and they lend them £100K then they will have a good chance of recouping that.
      My comment was not on the intricacies of every possible business collapse it was a comment on the fact that the guy left still not understanding that the company didn't own the aircraft and so it would not be at risk and their money would be. He could spend their money on advertising close and keep his aircraft.

    Just for anyone who might be about as business savy as this guy:
    The difference in spending the money himself to benefit the company on the one hand and putting the same money into the company for the company to then spend it, is the ownership of the plane. So if the investors get a 15% share, they now have 15% of that plane as security if everything goes tits up. If you keep ownership (not the company) the investors get 15% of jackshit when it goes tits up. Why would they do that?

    • @languageoffootball
      @languageoffootball 4 роки тому +7

      QemeH I don’t think that was the main issue to be honest. It was more the business proposition that was a dud. After all arranging the paperwork and making the investment subject to the assets being in the business is a relatively simple transactional process but it was more to do with the ROI. The plane itself wouldn’t have been paid for until year 5 and at £2k an hour you’re bound to have lots of downtime.

    • @JimmyHey
      @JimmyHey 3 роки тому +27

      @@languageoffootball I disagree.
      The simple fact that he even through the end, didn't understand what it meant to have the plane in the company's assets makes it clear to the investors, that he doesn't understand business at all.
      That in itself makes him, as a person, just as impossible to invest in, as in his company that is worth nothing.

      I dunno if it is naivety...its much too simple a distinction to not be understood. I mean a simple person likely would have a simple business idea. To execute a plan like this, to even conceptualise, one would likely have to have some measure of aviation knowledge and a good understanding of the operation costs etc. Where did he get $300k to buy himself a plane? He must have some measure of success to afford such a high value asset. And yet he is supposed to be naive ?? My guess he plans to lease his plane to the "tour operating" company which he wants to set up with other investors' monies to get that business off the ground. And he will be making money on his leasing business whilst investors wait 5 years (probably longer besides) before seeing any return having funded two additional planes and likely the operational costs as well. As Richard F observed why is he selling a concept rather than utilising the plane he has already to commence doing tours etc 🤷🏽‍♀️ It just does not add up. So either he is quite daft or extremely cunning and not to be trusted. He took great umbrage at being perceived as a fraud when noone said or accused him as such..and thats because he is a fraud.

    It’s actually very common for small air charter companies to do this, separating the operational side from the entity that owns the aircraft. They basically lease the machines to themselves. Some of the larger airlines also do this.
    But yeah, there’s nothing unique about his model. Not to say it wouldn’t work, it might. But doing so with Caravans? VIPs and high end clients he’s after don’t want a sea plane, get yourself a helicopter mate.
