Tristin Bailey They only wait until their oponents make the mistake. They can't create their own tactics on winning a point through winners. Which is fine, but boring.
The Asian Dude I saw lots of winners and forced errors, not sure what you're talking about. They're not aggressive full-court players in the classic sense, but they are certainly not pushers. Don't let the camera angle fool you, they are generating tremendous pace and spin on their shots. Have played against some former D1 players recently, and it certainly wasn't "boring".
Would have liked to see a little more attacking from both guys earlier on. There were some very impressive lung-busting points but a few of those short balls should have been pounced on.
You're right but when you're in a match situation like them it feels super risky to go for corner shots or low percentage shots. They just want to keep the ball in to avoid errors
Both players have ground strokes born of thousands of hours of practice. Most of the shots are landing around the service line and are extremely high percentage. Each players game is geared to wait for the opponent to make a mistake. Makes for great rallies. With this many shots taken, I'm surprised these guys don't both have tendinitis. I wish we could see the scores as the video unfolds. Fun for a tennis fan like me to watch.
Semi-western aint that extreme these days. Young bucks battling from the baseline. That's what they like and these 2 are good at it. I like attacking tennis too, but these little backboards would be a chore to play against.
And why on earth would that exclude us from commenting? If I see Federer make 5 double faults in a row, I can easily say he's playing bad while I am perfectly capable of hitting 10 in a row. Weird argument
In march of 2016 these guys were 56 & 80 in college tennis. I'm not saying they'll turn pro... but let's give them credit, both play really smart, consistent tennis. 5.5 Usta at least
USTA 5.5 players will not win more than 2 games from any of them. These are blue chip level players from my observation, if any one care to verify from tennis recruiting
donmwang Mitch Stewart was ranked 16th nationally when he graduated high school, number 2 in Washington and the northwest section, and a blue chip, which for non tennis people is better than five stars
No, 5.5? Wow. You severely underrated them. Mitch (UW) was US National 16’s Clay Court Champion and Seattle City Open men’s singles champion. He’s ATP ranked like 1500. That’s a solid 6.0. He’d beat 5.5’s 6061.
I was rooting for David the whole time, especially cause the crowd, based on the sound, seemed to be rooting mostly for the other guy. Glad he won. Great upload!! This was very pleasant to watch, and some of these rallies were grade A quality!
These guys play great. UA-cam critics in full effect on this vid. 2 baseline players playing wonderful tennis. For high roller risk takers rush the net would get burned 70% of the time by these guys. These type of players love a target. Some chump coming to net is probably their favorite target.
Epic stamina n athleticism of both guys, great hitting....I wish one of them was mixing shots with base line hits, else it's just practice rallies of high order
Great match, excellent players. But they should kick the idiot fan out making the ‘umpf, umpf, umpf’ noises. Irritating as hell. Bring in the beer and the hotdogs!
People always surprise me, if the "umpf, umpf, umpf" noise was so irritating, why in the hell you heard it during a 16 minutes, when all you had to do was muting it...(don't take it personal)
It doesn’t feel like the ball is bouncing very much, the guys are hitting them hard but the ball seems a little dead. With new balls I can’t imagine some of these shots staying up like they are in the video. Great hitting though. Super consistent and solid ball-striking.
Great consistency and atheltism. But why on earth would you play a style like that? Looks more like a practice really to me. Not agressive enough and also lack of slice, short balls and agressive net play.
heladar, what's your utr, considering you believe this level of play is similar to a practice session, you must be at least a 13.5 or above? I'd be curious to see how'd you fair against these two.
Nathan Charles I think he means they aren’t attacking as much when they get the chance and it ends up with longer rallies. I’m okay with that they are obviously amazing players but I do feel like they were holding back. Of course they did hit some winners but this match looked a little conservative.
For the level of players, which is very high, it is a shame that they only have one type of forehand. This is really preventing them (especially the guy in the black short) from taking advantage of short balls and open spaces in the court.
Perhaps I'm not that good-probably not. But, I saw some good tennis here. Granted, one player was fairly aggressive while the other was more of a pusher. But, they both showed good skills, patience and good shot selection up to a point. I would have liked to see more slices and better skills coming to the net. But, both have the flow, movement and consistency of good players. Yes, they could be more aggressive and flatten out their shots for more pace and a deeper ball during some of those rallies. They did go for down the line and angle shots frequently. But, they were both pretty good at getting those shots back. So, I don't think it was a matter of everything down the middle.
Well, Djokovic pretty much uses this style, so all you haters who've decided that YOU know the best strategy to play tennis are welcome to lose 6-0 6-0 to either of these guys. I'll personally record the match and post it on youtube.
All that spin, still no angles. How do you expect to win if you keep the ball within the confines of the court? I guess just grind until one guy makes a mistake...
All I can say is hit the damn ball I thought I watching boys 12's at first then I saw it was college, take some risk hit through the court their rally balls are at the service line don't they teach 3 feet from the base line anymore
Beautiful. All of these degenerates commenting that these kids aren’t attacking because of the long rallies obviously only watched the first few minutes of the video. Keep walking or know what you’re talking about, Twitter fingers 😏
They kind of suck. What is going on with extreme grips and topspin if you can't force a point? I know a couple kids who would beat them point for point on the ground they play like this.
I started to cramp up just watching these long points
OrganicHealer its because they cannot generate any power. They are counter punchers
Lmao get your head of out your ass Callum. They hit harder than you ever could.
Tristin Bailey They only wait until their oponents make the mistake. They can't create their own tactics on winning a point through winners. Which is fine, but boring.
That's not what I said. I said they can hit harder than Callum ever could

my wrist hurts after watching this match. those grips are wild
why is there a walrus on a tennis court?
hahaaah uhhh uuhuh uhh
Its paul

2:27 .... start of the 51 SHOT RALLY! Dayum!
Both players have ground strokes born of thousands of hours of practice. Most of the shots are landing around the service line and are extremely high percentage. This is a really great match. Congrats Dave Willy!
I went to get a drink of water after watching these long points...
It’s like watching the same player on both sides
That fall @ 8:20 could have been a LOT worse. He got lucky that his foot rolled over the top and not the side
identical players who use extreme grips who are scared to attack the net.
god these points were so long.
they did well when they did come to net though; why are all the shots exiting over the baseline is my question
Ikr they played so far back
Semi-western aint that extreme these days. Young bucks battling from the baseline. That's what they like and these 2 are good at it. I like attacking tennis too, but these little backboards would be a chore to play against.
95% of guys commenting here could't keep up with 10 shots with this guys...
Kuba Lejdjd including yourself
So lol
Aint that the truth.
And why on earth would that exclude us from commenting? If I see Federer make 5 double faults in a row, I can easily say he's playing bad while I am perfectly capable of hitting 10 in a row. Weird argument
Chris Braas you’re correct. It’s a free country. Everyone has the right to be an asshole. Including you.
In march of 2016 these guys were 56 & 80 in college tennis.
I'm not saying they'll turn pro... but let's give them credit, both play really smart, consistent tennis.
5.5 Usta at least
Steven Klurfeld : Hell yeah at least. These guys would wipe the floor with me.
USTA 5.5 players will not win more than 2 games from any of them. These are blue chip level players from my observation, if any one care to verify from tennis recruiting

I love the sound when they hit the ball
Great match, great tennis level and amazing video quality. Congratulations, please keep it up!
k that was a good warm up rally when does that match start?
Donk To Pro just semi-western 😬
bruh they change shirt colors at 9:48
These guys play great. UA-cam critics in full effect on this vid. 2 baseline players playing wonderful tennis. For high roller risk takers rush the net would get burned 70% of the time by these guys. These type of players love a target. Some chump coming to net is probably their favorite target.
TheTora75 To me they are so consistent and they both love to play defensive tennis
UTR 14’s. Also, ATP ranked around #1200-1500.
Red shorts needs to hit deeper. So many of his shots are within the service line.
Epic stamina n athleticism of both guys, great hitting....I wish one of them was mixing shots with base line hits, else it's just practice rallies of high order
Why is every shot landing inside the service line. These shots give no pressure to the opponent.
Most commentators here will be double bagelled by either of them, including me at my highest level (officially USTA 5.0 ranked 10 years ago)
If you are actually 5.0 you wouldn’t get double bageled. You’d be in line with a low tier d1 player
Incredible performance
Beautiful Tennis from both players
The guy in the red shorts Kick Serve is phenomenal.
Most people here saying they suck must be new to college tennis
aligboyakasha They must be new to tennis period...
Great match, excellent players. But they should kick the idiot fan out making the ‘umpf, umpf, umpf’ noises. Irritating as hell. Bring in the beer and the hotdogs!

Just sayin, it’s a college game. You’d hear the same at any basketball, football, or volleyball match. It helps out their team man, chill out.
Great consistency and power at the same timing
It doesn’t feel like the ball is bouncing very much, the guys are hitting them hard but the ball seems a little dead. With new balls I can’t imagine some of these shots staying up like they are in the video. Great hitting though. Super consistent and solid ball-striking.

heladar “lack of slice” LMAO fucking moron
Nathan Charles I think he means they aren’t attacking as much when they get the chance and it ends up with longer rallies. I’m okay with that they are obviously amazing players but I do feel like they were holding back. Of course they did hit some winners but this match looked a little conservative.
8:18 That’s my biggest fear when sliding on hard courts. Luckily he didn’t twist or break his ankle.
William Wilkins Sliding forward is a little scarier imo, that fall looked like it could’ve seriously injured him
they could have shortened several rallies by approaching the net instead of grinding it out from the baseline.
For the level of players, which is very high, it is a shame that they only have one type of forehand. This is really preventing them (especially the guy in the black short) from taking advantage of short balls and open spaces in the court.
2:25 for a 50 shot, 1min20sec rally ...
Good sportsmanship at the end.
THE level... Missed some points at the net tho
Perhaps I'm not that good-probably not. But, I saw some good tennis here. Granted, one player was fairly aggressive while the other was more of a pusher. I can play more power, but most of them is out 😂
Levi Keith Flores these guys are hitting a lot more power than you ever could
Meeplord WillMeep he was joking, my man
am i hearing gun shots?
slow court?
Extremely slow. I taught there.
seems almost like the ball is nerfed, no power.
the mantra for the mere mortals is to hit at 70 percent thought the rally. The only time you you flatten or hit close to max is on the put away shots.
These rallies are so long
These guys are great but they maybe should of played more aggressive
Can you imagine if these two were playing on clay? (Not American clay)
Well, Djokovic pretty much uses this style, so all you haters who've decided that YOU know the best strategy to play tennis are welcome to lose 6-0 6-0 to either of these guys. I'll personally record the match and post it on youtube.
What are u talking about i played Mitch in champs we split sets hes just a pusher i beat him in tie break
More variety would suit them.
Are they playing with ping pong balls ?
great game
this is 4.0 NTRP tennis at best
that is some great tennis
These guys have WTA forehands😂
hit it pretty short
🔥 🔥 🔥
Slapping more than driving through the ball
Looks like they are treating tennis ball like Ping Pong
Why arent they more attacking with flatter balls
surprisingly long rallies
All that spin, still no angles. How do you expect to win if you keep the ball within the confines of the court? I guess just grind until one guy makes a mistake...
え、うま。
6-1, 6-4
who is barking
Who’s the cave man
All I can say is hit the damn ball I thought I watching boys 12's at first then I saw it was college, take some risk hit through the court their rally balls are at the service line don't they teach 3 feet from the base line anymore

too much hitting in the center of the court.
Not much depth on thr ball
are these balls news? they seem a bit flat. every hit barely goes deep on the court... not too impressed
れべるたっか
Most boring rallies I’ve seen. Its like practise
Lame ass long rallies. No aggression by either player. Just hitting the ball to hit the ball. Yawn.
Yawn....
Boring 😴 j grind
4.0 finals
Ahahahahaha 4.0 xD
I can double bagel a lot of 4.0 players but these 2 guys will double bagel me every time
6.0 NTRP and UTR 14
when will these gaylords ditch the girls double handers
most pros use 2 hands
When will the haters learn?
They kind of suck. What is going on with extreme grips and topspin if you can't force a point? I know a couple kids who would beat them point for point on the ground they play like this.
numchiks10 okay bud
ok bud
numchiks10 lmao
lol I'm sure ur much better
You seriously don't.
To much spin not enough speed...
