    This works only on a naked back,you wore clothes while doing it.Even the thinnest t-shirt blocks the plastic thingies actually going into your skin. First I also did with my clothes and felt nothing,then on a naked back for 2 minutes you feel pain and then relief,I have back pain and it was gone in 5 minutes and my legs felt really relaxed.For 20 minutes I felt 0 pain,it had a numbing feeling.

      Ok

    • @charlie_says3841
      @charlie_says3841 4 місяці тому

      That's actually totally not accurate. Acupressure points will still be affected whether you wear clothes or not. Obviously nobody would wear a thick jumper on an acupressure mat, but wearing a t shirt is fine, especially if the discomfort is really tough the first few times.

      The "plastic thingys" are not meant to go *into* your skin, they are meant to deeply massage specific pressure points which then lead to release of endorphins and a feeling of release.

    I got one of these mats years ago from Amazon. It’s only okay for me. But I left it out one day and my cat came over to check it out. She walked on the mat, immediately plopped on it, and fell asleep on it. She loves it.

      @@Satanmeow I wear pretty thick sweatpants and sweatshirt and lay on it so it's mostly pressing into my lower back. If my cramps are really bad, I lay on it all night. It's not like a heating pad, where it needs to be on the place that hurts, I think it just distracts the nerves or something. If I'm not in pain, it hurts, but if I am in pain, it makes the pain go away.

    We have this at home though I've only used it once and kept telling myself I'd do it again and then didn't (it was during the summer heat and it put my back on fire, so understandable why I didn't want to continue then). And despite usually being a coward, I ended up lying on it with a bare back and felt super accomplished 😂 Now that it's cold, I may finally dig it out again.

    I’ve had mine for two weeks. I have no idea what it does but it’s amazing! After a few days it gets better? As I’m sitting here without it I still feel some kind of vibrant simulated feeling where I’ve used it almost like I’ve gotten a massage.❤

    Good thing there's the warning to not use while pregnant. Apparently because the body releases the hormone relaxin, which literally allows your bones and joints to stretch out to accommodate a growing fetus, you wouldn't want to over-poke your already hormone filled body.

    No no no! I am an acupuncturist and these mats are not great. Totally non-specific. Acupuncture is a type of therapy and art. A one size fits all mat is actually somewhat offensive to those of us with advanced degrees in acupuncture.

    • @JustinaErcole
      @JustinaErcole  Рік тому +7

      But isn't there a difference between acuPRESSURE and acuPUNCTURE?

    • @bethanyhauch5161
      @bethanyhauch5161 Рік тому +1

      @@JustinaErcole yes, but just in the technique used; the points are the same. Acupressure is just manual stimulation with a mat, ball, finger, etc; acupuncture is w/ the needles.
