  • If you're looking into getting a radio for airsoft then this video is for you. I go over the different types of radios used in airsoft from midland style to Milsim style. I also go over different kinds of headsets.

    Just a heads up. Many of the Baofeng UV-5R radios currently being sold on online marketplaces are updated to comply with FCC regulations and will not transmit on FRS/GMRS/MURS frequencies. There are versions that are GMRS certified, still reasonably priced and capable of battery/antenna/microphone upgrades.

      The current ones are easy to factory reset. All you have to do is press and hold PTT, MONI and VFR/MIR buttons while the radio is off and then turn it on. Done. You can now transmit on FRS/GMRS/MURS!

    Just be aware that for the baofeng uv5r by the fcc rules u have not the right to transmit on gmrs/frs radio without a license and you can't transmit on ham frequency without an amateur license and u can't not transmit on any other frequency just if u have special licences

    Interested in MilSim West, just wondering a few things: do they rent replicas? Or do I need to bring my own. (Any good websites?). What's good for the "NATO" side in the terms of clothing (I know the style is stipulated in the TASCOP) just wondering if there's good websites to order it.
    Tl;DR: I'm going to a Milsim what event (maybe) and would love to have websites for the gear I would need. (I'm making an expenditure list.)

      Seems like this is your first time playing airsoft, go to a local field first, dont go to milsim west first

    Do you need an FCC license for the Baofeng radios?

    • @chrisdubois36
      @chrisdubois36 2 роки тому

      No sir, you only need a license to broadcast on certain frequencies, which the baofeng specifically doesn't allow

    • @CzechSixTv
      @CzechSixTv 2 роки тому +5

      @@chrisdubois36 Um...YES you do need a license to transmit with almost all Baofeng radios*. There is no such thing as 'license free' frequencies, only license free radios(FRS/MURS/CB) which must meet specific standards that UV-5r's and the like do not.
      FRS radios must have a Part 95b grant from the FCC which requires the following:
      1) Narrowband only transmission
      2)
