Part of the belt is magnetic, so you can attach his grappling hook to it. But it has to be placed on there a certain way or otherwise it won't work. Another reviewer showed this in their video.
@Horrorman No problem! I think it's on his lower right towards the center part of his body. I wanted to see if I could find the link to the video, but Iost it, unfortunately.
Thanks for doing a thorough review, very good points. Good idea with magnets too. I saw another video where you can slide 20-gauge wires in each sewing seam, it's an alternative. I contacted Mezco to replace my wired cape as it can't snap in whatsoever.
@@lefty-92 depends on which one. In my comparison, he’s slightly taller than Scarecrow, but about the same height as BB and Joker. Mafex is inconsistent in their scale. I do feel like Bale’s Batman has smaller features eventhough he’s about the same height.
@@lefty-92 I don’t have him. I do agree, and even this Mezco is slighter taller than their norm. So going buy Bale’s real height, then this Mafex is too small proportionally next to Mezco Keaton
Any chance you can link to the same magnets you used? I looked on Amazon and they all look too thick to me. I’m very impressed by how awesome you made him look with the magnet trick. 😎
You're the first reviewer that has mentioned the texture on the armor. There is none. The cape and lower part of the cowl were the only parts that had a texture. Everything else was smooth.
It was definitely an odd choice. I feel like Mezco ALWAYS tries to put some spin on their figures. They added texture to the Tiger Stripe Wolverine masks too, and I thought it was a bad decision.
Nice review but you never did state which Batmobile he could fit in the 124 scale or the 118 scale Batmobile another thing is his cape is not very good as far as the rubber seamless body that looks all right but how do you keep that rubber from breaking what do you put on it to Preserve the rubber material.. and lastly I wish they could have made him 7 inches tall. instead of 6 inches tall...
So glad I cancelled mine. Good review though But the eyes are crossed that's just a huge no for me. The cape is bad The figure is sort of good But such a disappointment Defo getting the hot toys reissue with the cathedral
@@horrorman2269 I did some research after your first response and you're right. Imo that pizza slice makes your Michelangelo look more realistic if that makes any sense. It's a small prop, but the size of the slice and the curved out pepperonis look like an actual NY slice of pizza that works well with the figure.
Great point about the $30, 8 year old neca figure being comparable to this brand new much more expensive one. Probably shouldn't even be a close comparison, but it really is.
Thanks, and yeah it’s very comparable. I really wish NECA could get another chance at making some 7” scale Burton Batman figures. They’d kill it these days!
All of the 89 Batman figures have flaws, but this one has by far the most accurate face sculpt for Michael Keaton, it's almost photorealistic. That's not something you can fix on the other 89 Batman figures, where as the other things on the Mezco, like the cape, can be fixed.
Awesome review
The magnets on the back of the cape is an awesome idea- might try it on my custom made leather cape
Thank You Sir, love the cape configuration & extreme articulation 🤩
Magnet trick is great! You can put the magnet inside the cape so that it's not even visible. :)
Thanks for the review ! FYI It does actually have a magnet in the belt. You can store the grapple gun in there.
Awesome! I couldn’t find the the right place to put it, I get it now. Thanks!
I didn't know that! Hahaha

@@jamescolar504 yep, exactly. I did attach it a couple days ago.
I’ve watched 5 other reviews of this figure. Yours is by far the best. Love all the photos and comparisons. Subscribed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much 🙏
Reminds me of those old bendable rubber figures that had a wire in them.

My pleasure! I did see that video with the wires as well. Shame about that wired cape, swing and a miss on that one
Great scale comparison. Not the best quality I’ve seen from a Mezco but very cool nonetheless!
Thanks
I really appreciate the thorough overview! I'm still kinda torn between this and the upcoming Hot Toys '89 reissue... 🤔
Nice review, thanks for doing this 🤘🍻🔥
My pleasure, thanks for watching 🤘🏻
its a mini phicen body mate
Great review man!
Thanks! Hope you get one soon
Embrace the squishy body. I love this figure. My favorite Batman figure.
Excellent video!!! Overall, how he scales with Mafex BB or TDK 3.0?
Thanks! Yeah, about the same height. I do think the features are a bit smaller with Mafex figures
@@horrorman2269 so he is slightly taller than Mafex Batman figures ?

Bale is pretty taller than Keaton..and bulkier at least at BB..

The cape is 40 pounds.. you can hairdry it and form it also leather conditioner or softner

1:18 and 1:24 is way too small! You need the McFarlane Batmobile
So glad I cancelled mine.
Good review though
But the eyes are crossed that's just a huge no for me.
The cape is bad
The figure is sort of good
But such a disappointment

I don’t blame you. Tbh, I don’t care much for the eye rolling head. The rest are more interesting.
Where did you get that slice of pizza that Michelangelo is holding???
I think it’s from one of the Super7 turtles.
@@horrorman2269 ahhh okay. That slice adds so much to the figure. It looks way better than the Neca pizzas. Thanks 4 responding.
@@deevious316 I know! I’m not even 100% it’s Super7, because the detail looks way better than the other slices I have.
@@deevious316 ok, so it came with the 1st release Leonardo made by Super7. They look plain with less detail aside from that one

It's 2023 and the best 89 Batman figure ever made is still a brittle and stiff to pose 2014 NECA Batman.
