Heard this for the first time on the Beach Boys Sirius channel yesterday and also fell in love with it. It took me a few minutes to "hear" Glen Campbell's voice and then I remembered he had played with the Beach Boys for awhile. The lyrics really captured the time period.

Sounds a lot like Albert Hammond's "It never rains in southern California"

And "Rhinestone Cowboy" on the verses

@aniger33334, responding late. I was in the Navy at the time Albert Hammond's song was popular. It rained for about two weeks straight during that time in San Diego. Even one of my instructors commented about the song and the constant rain. I was there November '73 to March '74, and seen my first concert, The Beach Boys and Joe Walsh! I was in SoCal for my training, Machinery Repairman, civilian machinist. On Christmas day it was 82 Degrees! A young Midwest guy walking around base with a short sleeve shirt. It was mind boggling to me who was used to 4 to Six inches of snow on the ground at that time of year. USN 73-77. MR 3 Sail On Sailor.

Thank you Al Jardine for this Beautiful song, and one of the beste Videos I have ever seen in my Life! I love the old cars and pics you have made in this Video, and it is very artistic made, and I can really feel the friendly atmosphere. I love the Beach Boys style, and have of course all your records. I will also thank you for a fantastic album that this song is from, which I bought the first day it comes to the cold North! Love and best wishes from Norway !!!

Such joy in this music, which was and is true of so much music from the Beach Boys' careers. It's been a never-ending safari that I don't want to ever end.

I was in kindergarten with al in Rochester and have the class picture. I remember we had a “play date” down by the lake (White City) where his family lived. If al would like a copy of picture I would be happy to send one.

this video resembles some of the (unofficial) lyric videos (with all the old photos/art) that were done for some of the Smile songs - wonder if its the same person .....

Possibly Dean Torrance of Jan and Dean. He did graphic art design and did The Beach Boys "Love You" album cover.

Okay Al, but the song starts out with the same notes as Rhinestone Cowboy by Glen Campbell..."I've been walkin' these streets so long, singing the same old song..." 😂

I love how this song is new and fresh while at the same time being exactly what you would expect and predictable.
