Try getting 300 rounds of M60 ammo and 500 rounds of M16 ammo and then a case of C rations in there. Need four frag grenades a CS grenade, a claymore mine, a trip flare. Now add a bedroll and some personal gear and you got a rucksack.
Hi, Pepsi boi. I'm Corey, and I'm watching your video. I am thinking of subscribing to your UA-cam Chanel. I have a question for you, if you can answer it. I have a reproduction of th 1st pattern jungle fatigue shirt, with the 173rd air borne patch sewn on the shirt. And I also have the rank of pfc sewn on my shirt, as a Vietnam re-enactor here in Canada. The group of the Vietnam re-enactors I joined is in country. They are in the province of Ontario, in a place called Windsor. But the guy who formed the group has passed away since. And I'm wondering if I should leave the patches, inciuding the pfc rank on my jacket, or if I should leave them on my jacket. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Corey. Corey Hansen from Canada.
Ok, Pepsi boi. I've decided to keep The badges, and the rank of ofc on my 1st pattern jungle fatigue shirt. Thanks for your advice, I ordered a jungle fatigue shirt in the tiger stripe camouflage , 2 weeks ago. I should be getting it tomorrow. I can't wait until get it. Corey. Corey Hansen from Canada.
Your Vietnam light weight what, where are the water proof bags that came with the ruck, we also had a rule of thumb that we followed if you can't use it get rid of it.
If ya join up, you can play dress up for real... You get all your TA50 on loan for free and best of all you get modern stuff, not 50 year old stuff. Going to the range and ruck marches are super fun!
That's incorrect, that's about the only piece of under clothing guys would wear late war, guys would ditch t shirts and under wear and go commando, since it was just an extra layer they didn't need
Flashlight goes on clipped to rucksack strap opposite of whatever hand you use. Smoke or frag grenade on other strap or side pockets of ammo pouch. Machete with sheath (we had cloth sheaths back then) gets attached perpendicular to side of ruck opposite of whatever hand you use. No beads on helmet, they got caught on branches too easily and made noise. That's how we had it back in the 70's
Actually looking at it the basics would be belt you can get those cheapish your greens or shirt and trousers would cost a little boots probably a bit helmet probably costs the most unless your wanting to buy a gun they would be the most expensive which would then get the total over a thousand
No machetes, two quart canteens in stead of one quarts, C-4 was used to heat C-rats, no heat tabs, damn I almost forgot the 5 quart water blivet, no mess kit they rattled, the rest of your B.S was thrown away because you needed bullets, as for as the C-rats we general keep the main portion of the meal, fruit, and accessory pack the rest was trashed. In sort why would you hump around trash you're not going to eat.
Raplhg, where did you find your information? What source have you drawn from if any at all? When you say, "rest of your B.S.", are you referring to common personal items, such as a toothbrush, rifle cleaning kit, etc? If that is in fact the case, I'd imagine that anybody who would have trashed their other "B.S." would have contracted many gum diseases, no?
I wonder the motivation is to buy this junk. If I was a betting man we didn’t receive half this stuff, in armor, had no underwear, received uniforms in a bale to rummage through. If you were a unit deployed from US you may get this equipment. You wore no badge of rank or patches and you were dirty all the time. If you were in the rear with gear, you may have some.
Jack, I am sorry to inform you that your information appears to be incorrect. The tropical rucksack is strapped onto the lightweight. Hope that clarifies any confusion you may have. Good day. -Ron
Agreed Jack. The Lightweight Ruck didn't have the snap fastenings on the pockets, although the Tropical ruck did. Really cool video though and great content .

I was wondering where you buy all your carabiners? I’ve been having a hard time looking for them.
Looking great
Dominic F make another vid bro
thats really cool man, i wish my uncle kept his stuff after war
You need raining poncho, wool blanket and OD green towels.
Had all that strapped to ruck underneath my ammo can, just forgot to mention it in the video
I also wear my towel
@@pepsiboi3798 nice setup
No wool blanket it would weigh a ton when wet, we only used poncho liners.
Video on how to make a ration? (how to properly spray paint it, ect.)

My dad was USAF medic. He had a choice between an airbase in Nam or Radar Station in Alaska. He was smart hung out with Kodiak Bears instead.

If you ever get a XM28E4 gas mask, don't ever put it in the gas mask pouch. You're likely to break it if you put it in the pouch.
Where did get that from ?
Is that an Alice Pack?
its a tropical rucksack
How do you reseal the lrrp packets?
I'm not sure but probably uses a straight iron to heat shrink it closed
not enough montain and CIDG rucksaks. )
hmm whats weight of it!?
what a rattly mess this would create
They didn’t really wear socks in Vietnam because they got wet and they had no place to dry them

I did see footage and pictures of the 9th ID of guys having there socks on there helmets.

Love it I would recommend more ammunition
too heavy
Sgt Barnes!

if that is an authentic pack job then I can see how the US lost - you rattle like a half full pill bottle with every step you take
We didn't take all that rattle crap with us.

Ron Millner I know it is a tropical that is on a lightweight frame it is still a tropical
