It’s something that happens if you don’t pay attention to them, which is no fault of his, he just didn’t get into her until now. Which is fine we accept all new fans :) time moves faster than we realize, it happens.
It's first impressions. Like if someone says Madonna, some people think "Material Girl", even though Madonna's had a big hit in every decade for decades. If the listener doesn't particularly like the artist's songs, the impression isn't replaced. You can tell the age of a person from it. If the person is a bit younger, it will be a different song. Like for Madonna, maybe "True Blue". Brains are very good at resisting revising an impression. Sadly, my brain is one of them. 😄
Truth is, the cameras exploit her presence at the football games for an average of 25 seconds per game. You can look that up. When other celebrities attend football games the cameras exploit their presence and mention their names too. Look that up too. But everyone is in an outrage about Taylor Swift because she's a woman of power.
Love seeing people experience Taylor for the first time. For the record: this song is kinda satirical, many of the lyrics are making a parody of how the media portrays her as a love-crazy manipulator. Like "toying with them older guys" for example. Blank Space off of 1989 is along the same lines, written from the pov of the woman the media writes about because she reads it and thought "wow it'd be interesting to write a song from the point of view of someone who is actually like this."
First of all. I want to applaud you for actively seeking out her music and giving her a chance, despite what you might have heard about her before. She really is an incredible performer and lyricist, which her haters would know nothing about because they don't care to. I've been a Swiftie since she was a 16 year old country artist, but I was only a couple years younger than her when her debut album came out. She has definitely grown throughout the years and reinvented herself multiple times. Her catalog of music is so diverse and she really taps into several different genres of music. Second. You picked a great song to react to for your first time listening to her. Don't Blame Me never made it to radio and was never a single. Many of her radio songs are typically harder for newbies to her music to get into, because they were so overplayed. The true gems are the ones that never got played on Radio, like Don't Blame Me. I'm not sure what style of music you typically gravitate toward, but if you want more bad-ass songs like this one, "Intro + Ready For It...?" from the Rep Tour is amazing. As is "I Did Something Bad". "Getaway Car" is a fan favorite from Reputation and is basically a giant metaphor. If you want something more emotional with amazing visuals and lyricism, I would recommend the short film for "All Too Well" (the 10 minute version). Glad you liked this performance. Hoping to see more!
New sub here for Taylor Swift. She writes all her own songs since she came on the scene in 2006. She’s put out 10 studio albums with an 11th dropping April 19,2024. She’s phenomenal, welcome to the club 🔥🤘
Early in her career, I liked a few of her teen girl country songs. One evening I was at home and walked through the family room. My dad was watching "60 Minutes". They ran a segment on Taylor Swift. I stood and watched and learned that teenager Taylor Swift was not only primarily writing her songs, but also heavily involved in planning her concert stage and costumes. I was impressed and interested in where it would lead. I grew up primarily listening to pop and rock, so I was even more of a fan as she moved into young adult country/pop, then adult pop, adult pop/rock, adult indie folk, and back to adult pop. (For years now) Taylor Swift is my favorite artist. To me, she has the hit writing ability of The Beatles, lyrical storytelling of Bruce Springsteen, music video cinematography of Michael Jackson, concert stamina of Bruce Springsteen, and concert production beyond anyone else.
Before I read about Taylor and listened to her music, my fav band was(and really still is)the Finnish Symphonic Metal band Nightwish. The song I've heard Taylor sing closest to Nightwish is 'Don't Blame Me'. If anyone cares to hear Nightwish, their Magnum Opus concert can be found here; Nightwish Live at Wacken Open Air, Wacken Germany 2013. One hour thirty minutes. Their lead singer is 6'1" Dutch Soprano Floor Jansen(11 years with the band). Their keyboardist and band director is Tuomas Holopainen.
Kansas City mom here who fell down this rabbit hole (for obvious reasons #87) and discovered a smart woman who has been through some stuff and come back stronger for it. She is a business savvy poet who treats people like friends. Her movie about the Eras tour was made during a strike. In order to do this she paid everyone what the unions were asking for at the negotiating table. Out of her pocket.
Looks like #87 is not going to be a single guy much longer. Not getting married but, they both are looking at a future together. They both found disappointment while dating around and then Taylor came to KC for her concert and Travis was done. She met him for dinner one night in NYC and she was done. Taylor will be at Chiefs games for quite some time. You are lucky. Hope for a 3 peat and let's hope the Royals do the same. BTW, I live in northern Illinois about an hour out of Chicago but, my hometown is KC. I have many fond memories of the city. I grew up in the Wonder Years pretty close to where the stadium is. A few blocks from what is now Walmart Super Center but, back then was the Blue Ridge Mall.
If you want more performances like this: I didn’t something bad (reputation tour) Intro + ready for it (reputation tour) Vigilante shit (eras tour) If you want more deep lyric vibe: All too well 10 minute version Long pound studio sessions (my tears ricochet, this is me trying, the lakes) !!!
song is from the Reputation album; tabloids made lots of rude assumptions and comments about her ----- when she was a teen, she dated John Mayer (more than a decade older); later, turning 21, she dated Jake Gyllenhaal (over a decade older), and Calvin Harris. Her relationships tended to be short (around 3 to 6 months) but this is the same age as college sophpmores/juniors. She leaned into that persona the media created about her for several songs on her 1989 and Reputation albums, so the lyrics are a sort of satire on the media's constant harassment.
Taylor's music has grown with her. A lot of people who don't listen to her do think of her like you did. Her music has always matched the age she was at when she wrote it. She's grown over the years and her music reflects that. Many of her songs are inspired by what happens in her real life. Not all of them are personal, but there are many that do take from personal stuff. I'm sure you've heard her songs over the years and didn't know it was her. She's also written songs for other artists.
Before you do any other TS, I’d recommend watching her documentary Miss Americana- it’ll give you the foundation upon which most of her catalogue is based. Seriously. Everything makes more sense- and gives you a greater appreciation for her lyricism, and for her as a person. - I came for the Swift, stayed for the Larry Bird 😊
I definitely get why everyone thinks of her as younger, especially because they only play her pop songs on the radio too, everyone has a certain perception of her. Welcome to the swiftie chaos! We're a passionate bunch, can't wait for more!
Having been to a Taylor swift concert, I can tell you, somehow she makes you feel like she’s singing for you, even with 70k+ people there. Like it feels personal and intimate. For sure check out the making of, behind the scenes of the writing of this song. Her writing process is so interesting.
In my opinion, she's the best. Her concerts are some of the best moments and memories I've had in my life. Her personality is quirky and fun and she''s so fun live. Also the reputation tour isn't on netflix anymore so im not sure where you can watch it, but I definitely recommend it! (but also the eras tour is coming to disney plus march 15th so its a must!)
Me too. I have seen her perform in parking lots and several other shows over the years. I even saw her small stage storytellers concert. She always k ocks it out of the park.
That is the magic of Taylor Swift. Even in a stadium with 70 000/100 000 people, she still makes it feel intimate, you feel like she is singing directly to you. We all feel that🥰
She's a whopping 34, and I'm a 49 year old Swiftie. Love her...she writes all her music, can play all the instruments and hires the same people that have been with her since was a teenager. Above all, she's just a GOOD person.
She not only sings live .. she writes by herself or with one other person ALL her music … she plays the guitar and piano… talent is an underrated word for her . There is a reason … she is a billionaire and the most famous person on this earth right now! It’s well earned well deserved and she lives it in an inspiring way. I have only respected Michael Jackson (pre poss Jesus juice stuff) on the same level. Talent through and through !!!! Blows my mind the people who think her fans are crazy lol but hey … I guess we are 🤷🏻♀️
Don’t apologize for pausing! We like hearing opinions! She is amazing at making it seem like she’s singing directly to you. This is known as her take me to church song so you aren’t alone! From this same concert, the intro and ready for it will blow you away too!
not him picking my favorite taylor song as his first experience. so glad you enjoyed it! i was at the eras tour and when she hit that high note, i grabbed my husbands arm so i wouldn't fall down.😂 if you want sexy, you'll need to watch the performance of Dress!
That's the beauty of Taylor Swift.....her music has evolved over the years and her fans have let her try different music styles and genres and loved all of it.
A few months ago, I was surprised to learn that some artists refuse to play in stadiums because of the poor acoustics. Taylor Swift concerts have incredible sound systems. This Reputation Stadium Tour is as professional as it gets, including its filming.
part of that is getting the audio from the main boards from her audio engineers; and having the luxury in film editing of adjusting the level of audience noise and such. Additionally, for the Eras tour especially, she did some incredible work on the speaker systems used in the tour -- someone has a tour video tech analysis that went into how it all works that was cool.
Cvteck I'm a recently converted Swifty also! The whole reputation tour got me to be honest, start from the start - which is intro + ready for it, and continue through the concert from there. One song that's not in the concert though, which is one of my favs, is End Game, ft future and ed Sheeran, just do the normal music vid for this one as there is no live for that one that I know of.
Great, honest, authentic reaction! Loved all of it! I think you should react to Ready For It and I did Something Bad both from her Live Reputation Tour! You will be glad you did! ❤
Reputation studio tour is really amazing, I recommend listening to more songs from that, she had a movie for a tour and it's really amazing. This is the one of the best songs she performs live, so very good choice with starting with that. Some of her most popular songs are just mostly catchy, but there are many deeper cuts that can go really hard. I really recommend Haunted, kinda similiar feeling with made to be performed live for me, probably best version it's from Speak Now World Tour. Though, keep in mind, this was her more than 10 years ago, so her voice is not as strong as in this performance, but still very well done
The world doesn't know what we are witnessing right now, she is, theres just no words. I just picked up some Adam audio studio monitors and folklore was the first listen on them, and OMG you've never heard anything like it..... The sound, performance, the world wont ever see anything like it again. She is an angel. Love it!!!
Taylor is 34 years old now. She was Country, today she's pop, rock, and she is the best lyricist and composer in those genre's as well. She writes her own lyrics, as well as for many other artists. She directs her videos, and works with engineers and musicians to compose the music as she imagines it. Watch some of her behind the scenes videos, and her Long Pond Studio sessions. I am a 72 year old Swifty, proving her music relates to so many of all ages. Love her and respect her talents. FYI, Many of her songs lyrics on this Reputation Albumn are her claiming she is what she was accused of being, when she is absolutely not. Baseless lies mostly spread by Kanye and Kim, (research it) then repeated by gossip media and posted on social media. Definitely, not reflecting how she really is, a caring, gereous, talented, artist. After secluding for over 17 months, this album is the culmination of her pushing back against the lies, gossip and those who lied. Coming back stronger, and indifferent to those lies.
That was a fun one to watch! If you do decide to go down the Taylor Swift rabbit hole, you are about to embark on quite a journey and I am here for it! The Swifties will come along. Just wait. You're about to get a shit ton of new subscribers! You have no idea how much we LOVE watching her surprise the shit out of people who have a preconceived notion of who she is. And for me, personally, I really love watching men discover her music. You are about to enter into the world of feminine emotion. She will give it all to you and I really believe her music helps men understand women better and feel their own emotions. You just felt some of that. Her music is so varied that you'll find yourself laughing and dancing in your chair one song, ready to ride at dawn for her another song, and then on the verge of tears the next. I can NOT wait!! If you like this song, I'd recommend doing the Reputation tour intro& Are you Ready For It video. I wish I had a link, but no doubt another Swiftie will share it. Thanks for sharing your reaction. You picked an epic performance as your first! It's one of her very best.
New Subscriber….My favorite thing to do is watch Men watch Taylor for the first time!! I recommend Vigilante Shit and I did Something Bad from the Reputation Tour, End Game with Ed Sheeran and Future, and We Are Never Getting Back Together 1989 Tour . Taylor Raps and Rocks on an electric guitar so you will see the many sides of Taylor!! I’ll be watching…….
You're into football -- the Reputation tour was filmed in Arlington; it was her first all - stadium tour, on her 6th album (two Grammy AOTY year wins, at that point). She has always been the driver for stage designers -- they have to work out how to do the show she has in her head ===== and the stages get bigger and more elaborate with each tour. Her current tour is the first since 2018 and Reputation, so very epic. It will be streaming on Disney + in March, so will be more available (beware copyright though.) Too bad Netflix's contract for the Rep Tour ended; in the film, they cut away to the guitarist for that solo. fwiw, several members of her band have been with her forever. The backup singers are called The Starlights after a song on Red (track 15 !!! she does looong albums!)
While I do like her early stuff, people need to get that out of their mind, move past it and give her more recent music a shot. There’s a whole evolution lol. It’s insane once you start diving into not just the music but all the Easter eggs and how she interacts with people… holy crap.
"She can't sing," "She's mid," SAID NO ONE EVER who actually took a deep dive into her work. Subbing to follow your taylor journey! She has many different sounds, judging by your reactions to this song, seems like more reputation songs (ready for it, look what you made me do, I did something bad) and midnights songs (lavender haze, vigilante shit) might be good recommendations for you❤
Excited to watch you on a TS journey, people say such bad things but listen to her work and you can’t not be a fan. Intro and Ready for it the Reputation your please! 😊
See...see...all the things we knew all along, and now everyone else is catching on. This woman is absolutely extraordinary!! I've been following her her whole career so it's been a wild ride with her changing genres all the time and consistently doing something incredible every single time! I was front row for this tour and went to several others including the Eras tour. Afterwards it feels like it lives in you for weeks. Honestly, it lives in you forever. She's just an amazing superstar!!🖤🐍🖤🐍So glad you got it!
SHE GREW UP. Her music has matured. Her catalog has all kinds of music. She writes her own stuff. She’s a lyrical genius. Also I love watching grown men discover her musical genius. I’ll keep watching. ENJOY.
So I’ve never seen a request for this - it’s an older one…but I love it. Everything has changed with Ed Sheeran. Totally different vibe and she was younger when she wrote it but it just makes me feel good!
"Don't Blame Me" is a great starting point to shatter preconceptions at the start of a Taylor Swift journey. It's adult pop/gospel/rock with attitude. When I first heard it, I thought it was most likely a cover of a Motown song I'd never heard before. It reminds me of "Jesus Christ Superstar", so I'd love to hear a rock opera album from Taylor Swift. I agree that "Don't Blame Me" in a sexy/passionate song, and has a gospel vibe too. You nailed its description! There's a "Taylor Swift NOW"/"The making of a Song" short video about its origin; beware that there's a few different videos on a few different songs.
could not have picked a better performance to be introduced to taylor this is hands down the best. if you liked this level of production you should also check out intro + ready for it and i did something bad both live from the rep tour !
One of the most special things about Taylor swift as a performer is her stage presence and the way she connects w the audience. It rlly does feel like she’s singing a connecting right w you no matter where your sitting in the stadium!!!
People don’t get the hype until they hear or see the one song/performance that gets them. I’m surprised you got it on the first try. People are usually surprised by her, but it takes a few songs for them to really “get” her appeal. If you listen to rock, her live version of We Are Never Getting Back Together from Sydney is top tier!
I’ve been watching you forever - mostly for John Farnham videos . I’m a full blown Swiftie however and I’ve never clicked on a reaction video so fast. Shes such a surprising talent. Mostly because a lot of folk underestimate her because they picture a teenager singing her big hit Love Story. She’s 34 now though, super smart and amazingly clever at penning lyrics. I suggest Intro+Ready For It and I Did Something Bad from the same Reputation tour. She has done Country, Pop, Rap, Indie….you name it Taylor can master it. I’m excited to witness your journey!!
The most impressive thing about this song is that the recorded and produced album track is fire... Her live performances of most of the songs from this album (Reputation 2016 or 2017, I forget) are even better than the album tracks 😊
LMAO Same thing happened to me in 2023 when my fav rap reactors started reacting to Taylor. Next thing I know she’s on my playlist next to Eminem. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 You definitely need to watch Vigilante live on Eras & anything from Reputation tour!
Ok here is the download. You need to check out the reputation tour, the documentary on Netflix and the long pond sessions and that's just the beginning of the taylor swift rabbit hole
We are never ever getting back together live from the 1989 tour is Superb! It is Nothing like the radio version. It is a Pop/Rock version. She is wearing all black leather and plays an electric guitar on it. It will show you a completely different side of Taylor than this excellent video did. I promise you will Love it and be Very Surprised!
I love this sexy church song! Great choice for your first glimpse of Taylor. Her Catalog is vast! I’ll let the others recommend the next song…there’s too many amazing choices! Glad you loved this performance!
This is the performance I always recommend for a first listen. People say she can't sing. Lol. Her live performances usually sound better than her recordings. Check out "I knew You Were Trouble" from the 1989 Tour. You've probably heard it somewhere. But, not how she does it live.
Also my first time watching her perform. Not my "classic rock" genre, but passible for today. I'm here to admire what my man TK is getting. I wish them all the best.
thank you for doing what a lot of ppl dont do, actually listen to her music that isnt on the radio because she has an album for pretty much anyone! she has such a diverse discography. HIGHLY recommend did something bad live from the rep tour next! shes such an amazing performer and puts in so much work on the detail of the SHOW (yes as you seen its a SHOW not just her singing the whole time).
If you want an incredibleeee live performance that's more stripped down, just Taylor and her guitar, to react to next, check out Cornelia Street (live from Paris). If you want another amazing performance from the Reputation tour I highly recommend I Did Something Bad.
it's impossible that you had seen her more than the football players bc according to NBC, CBS, ABC, NYT and WSJ she was on screen between 17 to 53 seconds in 5 hours games broadcasts.
One of the most bullied celebrities who took that and turned all the 💩 into her super power.
Fact: in concerts, right before the high note, the crowd screams, "Take us to church, Taylor!" So, you're not alone :)
Why does everybody think Taylor is still a 19 year old girl singing country. Everybody grows up.
It's one of those things i can't explain it.
It’s something that happens if you don’t pay attention to them, which is no fault of his, he just didn’t get into her until now. Which is fine we accept all new fans :) time moves faster than we realize, it happens.
Everyone infantilizes her esp casuals and haters. I can’t stand it.
Like literally the girl sang about suic*de and covid yet people only think she sings country and about her love life
It's first impressions. Like if someone says Madonna, some people think "Material Girl", even though Madonna's had a big hit in every decade for decades. If the listener doesn't particularly like the artist's songs, the impression isn't replaced.

It's so amazing seeing the moment you went "WOW" Haha welcome to the club! Hope you continue your journey and listen to her other work too!

You're not a football fan if you let taylor swift in anyway change your opinion and that's what's killing football and the televised nfl it's tmz now

Loved your reaction ❤ Taylor has uncanny way of writing. Her songs always make me feel like I’m the main character and I’m invested. ❤
did she write this one if so more credit to her
@@CVTECK1 She writes ALL of her songs. 😉

Taylor Swift transcends genre, she can literally do it all country, pop, rock, she can even hit you with a little gospel or some R&B
She is so,so talented

Most of her live performances are top tier especially from The Reputation tour. I did Something Bad from 2018 AMA’s is 🔥

OMG...such a GREAT suggestion!!!
Yessssss
Taylor is 34. Her music has changed as she has grown. She is an amazing songwriter.
Taylor is our generation’s Dolly Parton. She has gown up, but her lyricism has ALWAYS been impressive, to say the very least. ✨🔥👌🏼

Reluctant Swifties for the win
She commented that she wanted this to be gospel inspired, you feeling that was not weird at all, you got it!
not him picking my favorite taylor song as his first experience. so glad you enjoyed it! i was at the eras tour and when she hit that high note, i grabbed my husbands arm so i wouldn't fall down.😂
if you want sexy, you'll need to watch the performance of Dress!
haaaaaaaaaaaaaa
... She's 34 now 😂
This was from 2016/2017.
lol
2018!!
What’s really special about her? She’s down to earth and playing, and all her songs are from her heart.
Mother was out for BLOOD on the Reputation album. I'm really glad you reacted to this. It's always fun watching skeptics realize how talented she is.
Nothing but goosebumps....just came across this, ❤'d your reaction!!! Wasn't weird at all...that is what she does...she gets everyone
I'll check it out!
You swifted out. Happens to most. It only takes one song ..... and then your stuck :). This was a great one to react to first.
I love it
Reputation studio tour is really amazing, I recommend listening to more songs from that, she had a movie for a tour and it's really amazing.
She's brilliant ❤
Seconding all the other suggestions for “Intro - Ready For it” Live from the Reputation tour.
And then no body, no crime to complete the revenge Taylor era!
And after all that, Exile from the long pond sessions
Taylor is 34 years old! Grown woman and an incredible artist who writes all her own songs Does have some co-writers, but she always starts them.
This tour was amazing live!! From costumes, the production, the stage, her performance and her band. All 💯 every. Single. Time!❤
While I do like her early stuff, people need to get that out of their mind, move past it and give her more recent music a shot.
She has many different sounds, judging by your reactions to this song, seems like more reputation songs (ready for it, look what you made me do, I did something bad) and midnights songs (lavender haze, vigilante shit) might be good recommendations for you❤
One of my favorites, her voice can be powerful
Excited to watch you on a TS journey, people say such bad things but listen to her work and you can’t not be a fan. Intro and Ready for it the Reputation your please! 😊
You explained it perfectly. Exceptional performance.
You have to watch..."Ready for It", it is the opening song of the Reputation Tour.
Just finish
Welcome to our club. Try the intro- Ready for it next. Then I did something bad and look what you made me do from this tour.
Chiefs Kingdom (Taylor’s Version) ❤️🔥
I’m an old chiefs fan and a new Swifty and I’ve been nothing but impressed with her. Hope you check out more!
And people claim she can't sing? And OMG she kicks ass as a stage performer. Not many artists can own a 70k stadium the way she can....
You’re gonna have a lot of fun on this journey. Enjoy!
Can't wait!
An excellent song to start your journey 😁
I like your assessment of your very first Taylor song lol she makes grown folk music my guy, buckle up for the ride lol
The funny thing is how old this is. I was at that concert like 6 years ago. It was as massive as it looks. You have only scratched the surface.
Subscribed for more Taylor. Fyi- she writes all her own music- since the beginning.
Her concert live is everything that why her current tour the biggest in history doing 4 night in every city with 75k in attendance
could not have picked a better performance to be introduced to taylor this is hands down the best. if you liked this level of production you should also check out intro + ready for it and i did something bad both live from the rep tour !
Her new album midnight is 🔥
One of the most special things about Taylor swift as a performer is her stage presence and the way she connects w the audience. It rlly does feel like she’s singing a connecting right w you no matter where your sitting in the stadium!!!
Excited to see your journey into the Taylor Swift world. It's a fun place!
This tour was in 2018, Taylor was 28. ❤
You're going to love Ready For It and I Did Something Bad. Reputation tour.
I love that you said I felt like I was in church. That is the moment that she is taking us to church lol.❤
Watch the Ready for it and End Game music videos 🙌🏻
LMAO Same thing happened to me in 2023 when my fav rap reactors started reacting to Taylor. Next thing I know she’s on my playlist next to Eminem. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 You definitely need to watch Vigilante live on Eras & anything from Reputation tour!
lmaooo will do
Eminem and Taylor are both lyrical geniuses 🔥🤘
Which reactors?! I love finding new music reviewers to check out.
There is a whole rabbit hole of reasons behind this tour
Also my first time watching her perform. Not my "classic rock" genre, but passible for today. I'm here to admire what my man TK is getting. I wish them all the best.
I lean more towards rock myself, and she has songs that are rock for sure. Hang in there. I hope you continue trying❤
Rock on!
She meant to take you to church you should watch the making of this song by her
All of her performances feel like a one on one performance. I love it!
Great reaction!
Welcome to the club my dear man. ❤
I hope you read this, you've got to watch "Dress", from the Reputation Tour. You'll love it!
I'll check it out!
thank you for doing what a lot of ppl dont do, actually listen to her music that isnt on the radio because she has an album for pretty much anyone! she has such a diverse discography. HIGHLY recommend did something bad live from the rep tour next! shes such an amazing performer and puts in so much work on the detail of the SHOW (yes as you seen its a SHOW not just her singing the whole time).
seriously tho please watch i did something bad from the rep tour its SOOO GOOD!! lol
We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together from 1989 tour is a must-watch😁
If you want an incredibleeee live performance that's more stripped down, just Taylor and her guitar, to react to next, check out Cornelia Street (live from Paris).
If you want another amazing performance from the Reputation tour I highly recommend I Did Something Bad.
You need to watch “vigilante shit” live and dress ( preferably from the reputation tour) . Trust me. Amazing 😂
There’s a huge gospel influence in this piece
it's impossible that you had seen her more than the football players bc according to NBC, CBS, ABC, NYT and WSJ she was on screen between 17 to 53 seconds in 5 hours games broadcasts.
