2:59:30 Honestly makes a fair bit of sense. Surprised they don't, considering knowing the year it comes out would basically tell you how advanced it is. (Though also somebody mentioning that some companies want to release more than once a year is also fair)
I wish Jerma would play the original RE3 to see how good Nemesis used to be :( It's sad seeing people who never saw him before shrug him off in this game, so much wasted potential
I disagree, they're two different types of games. Though I do like his use in the original more I fail to see how just using him the same way in this game would be better. The reason Mr. X works in the 2nd remake is because for a big chunk of that game you spend it in one location. In a way X teaches you how to better navigate the station since you're constantly planning your route around encounters with him. But that wouldn't work in this game since it's more about exploring separate locations and finding everything in each area before you move onto the next. If they had done something like that in this it would've come off as more of a nuisance since you always have to stop what you're doing, escape Nemesis and retrace back to the spot you were just at. Nemesis is way harder to escape from than X since he can grab you from afar or just jump ahead of you. They're two different ways of using the character but neither is better or worse, you can prefer the original but it doesn't make this one bad. Like I said I prefer the original Nemesis but I don't consider this one worse for it.
"How good he used to be" You mean like when he'd get stuck on a cupboard in the police station? Just play on Inferno Mode and you'll see how challenging Nemesis can be.
6:02:42 Did anyone else get absolutely turned off by the terrible voice acting here?? When I played the first time I wondered why he talked like that lmao.
@@HeisenbergTheFirst I didn't play the original so I have no nostalgia bias, and I gotta say the game sucks. Even completely ignoring the shortness of the game, it is just a bad resident evil game.

I kind of hate the reception this game got, I really enjoyed the reinterpretation of the characters and events. I think this is my favorite narrative for a Remake so far and the characters stand out from their original versions in a great way. The gameplay is more of what we're used to and the inclusion of the dodge is really nice and lays a good foundation for the future remakes assuming they go into a more action focused direction. I think the shorter length of the base game is offset by some nicely included replay value, and doesn't feel as bloated like Remake 2 felt to me. The writing is stronger than 2 and characters feel like they have a bit more personality, and how they gave many characters more development or screen time is much appreciated.
I'm The Map Honestly I feel like people were way too hard on this game. I do agree that some of the cut content and the live selection and mercenaries mode being absent kinda sucks, but I’m still happy with what we got. I genuinely think this is my favorite version of Jill, and I feel like they really did her justice in this game.
@@fortgame6186 I love the original game, but to me this is a team who were passionate about the original and just really wanted to focus on making a solid narrative and update the characters to stand out a bit more.
@@ParagonBourne yeah, the lack of content is apparent especially after Remake 2's boatload of it. But I feel that this game just did really well with it's characters and story.
They turned Jill into an edgy 15 year old who apparently has titanium bones, Nemesis into an incompetent joke everyone keeps trash talking, Carlos into a weakling who lets Jill walk all over him, and Nicholai into a mustache twirling villain. At least three times Nemesis has Jill dead to rights. He has her head in the palm of his hand and every time instead of crushing it he keeps letting her go. That's nonsense. Jill keeps getting tossed around all over the place, falling down, getting hit by things, surviving explosions inches from her body and none of it has any effect. She should have dozens of broken bones, fractures, and burns. Then she keeps passive aggressively shitting on Carlos and like a good little doggy he lets her and stays quiet. And the rationale is he works for Umbrella but so what? The whole virus incident is on the executives and the medical division, not some random mercs who just do their jobs and have info strictly on a need to know basis. As a cop she should understand that perfectly. Would she treat some poor janitor like shit as well just because he happens to work for Umbrella too? With Nicholai they didn't even try to disguise him. From his first scene his attitude screams "bad guy" in the most obvious manner. At least in the original you could give him some benefit of doubt and assume he's just a hard ass before it's revealed he has secret motives. Characters have more personality now, like you said, but it's not the good kind and while writing was never RE's strong suit at least the original trilogy was coherent and logical to the extent that it required minimal suspension of disbelief. R3make on the other hand is so nonsensical it crumbles to pieces under the tiniest of scrutiny. There are also some pretty bad design decisions when it comes to gameplay. Like the whole knife thing and how obnoxious it is to constantly pause what you're doing and stab downed zombies dozens of times before moving on. How Nemesis gets owned by a single grenade which is just ridiculous and makes him into an even bigger joke than the story already did. While dodge is a good addition it makes the game too easy in it's current implementation and once you get the mechanics down avoiding zombies is a breeze. Hunter Ys as a whole. Talk about a waste of time and space which could've been filled by something actually interesting and challenging. Instead we get this monster that's just a waste of time you sigh at when encountered because they're not a threat in any way. Then there's Deimos which are interesting in how they interact with your healing resources. That's a good addition but then... ? They're gone. Poof. They introduce them, you fight them for 5 minutes, and then you never see them ever again. The entire quasi-poison mechanic trashed the moment it was introduced. And coming back to Nemesis... Man what wasted potential. Instead of designing the levels around Mr. X style of mechanics and then designing Nemesis to be improved Mr. X it seems they simply designed levels like they're whatever and when it dawned on them Mr. X doesn't work on them they made Nemesis fully scripted. Which sucks because A Mr. X was the best part of Remake 2. And B Nemesis was the best part of RE3 which is why the game itself was called "Resident Evil 3 Nemesis". He was a big deal and he deserved better. You'd think these remakes would take the original games, dissect them and figure out what made them tick, then adapt them to modern sensibilities and improve upon them. Remake 2 kind of did that. Remake 1 absolutely did it and it did it pretty much perfectly. R3make sure as shit didn't. I don't know if the devs were rushed and under some insane crunch or what but I hope they were. Because if they were then R3make is an isolated case, and not a sign of how future remakes will be treated and what to expect from them.
RE3 Remake is an alright game, it just doesn't have the cool interconnected world like RE2 Nemesis is too scripted, kind of a push over and the game is too action focused and they cut way too much from the original
majority of his gameplays are. It’s kinda weird too cause you would think someone who’s played games half their life would have great game sense. but he plays games like I did when I was 7. Also his sense of direction is horrible. Check his RE7 gameplay he gets lost in the same fucking hallways multiple times. Like does jerma get lost in his own house?
I'm sorry, but I can't watch this. It's too painful. I've been a fan of Jerma's since his really old days, he's one of my favorite creators, but I can't deny that some games are just... beyond his ken. He has areas in which he excels, but when he's too far outside his element, he just ends up being frustrating to watch. It's not fun to watch, and his normal behavior and personality go from funny, charming, and endearing, to just coming off as obnoxious. Like he's just mocking the game. He has absolutely zero idea (or care for) what's going on in the story. For a long time, this wasn't even something I was aware of, because the games he usually plays don't have this problem, but as time passes, he steps into more serious games more often, and his limitations become noticeable.
Why not just play it yourself then? Instead of complaining that a streamer isn’t playing the game the way *you’d* like. If he was known for focusing on immersion and story, you wouldn’t be saying this, he’s obviously not, so really. What did you expect?
