Hey, I wonder. As a recurve archer, is using the fingertab "shelf" a must? I like to just use my bare fingers against the jaw

I’m with you. When I began shooting Olympic (switching from barebow), I used the shelf that came with the tab. I could never get a consistent anchor point. Removing the shelf and using my thumb, and all the feeling that came with the change, resulted in way more consistent shots.
