- Many thanks to the filmer, excellent work.
A really nicely worked slowly paced version with a harmonica intro and outro. The vocals are really heartfelt *@ 2:02 " singing just for you " & @ 5:37 " with a pain that stops and starts" and with amended lyrics, this was to be the second last time he has played this song live ( Chicago being the last time one month later )
You’re a Big Girl Now
WRITTEN BY: BOB DYLAN
Our conversation was short and sweet
It nearly swept me off-a my feet
And I’m back in the rain, oh, oh
And you are on dry land
You made it there somehow
You’re a big girl now
Bird on the horizon, sittin’ on a fence
He’s singin’ his song for me at his own expense
And I’m just like that bird, oh, oh
Singin’ just for you
I hope that you can hear
Hear me singin’ through these tears
Time is a jet plane, it moves too fast
Oh, but what a shame if all we’ve shared can’t last
I can change, I swear, oh, oh
See what you can do
I can make it through
You can make it too
Love is so simple, to quote a phrase
You’ve known it all the time, I’m learnin’ it these days
Oh, I know where I can find you, oh, oh
In somebody’s room
It’s a price I have to pay
You’re a big girl all the way
A change in the weather is known to be extreme
But what’s the sense of changing horses in midstream?
I’m going out of my mind, oh, oh
With a pain that stops and starts
Like a corkscrew to my heart
Ever since we’ve been apart

Gotta be one of the saddest songs I’ve heard. Can tear up every time
Heard another version in lieu of playing the harmonica Dylan plays lead guitar on his acoustic guitar. Herky jerky amazing lead at the finale. Never the same version. Amazing
For a while there, while it was still playing, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven...
I can listen to this song nonstop all day and night. Thanks for posting this gem. Especially live. Man has so much history standing there singing his corkscrew heart out. Then the harmonica makes this a real tearjerker. Thanks Bob and Woolhall
The lousier he sings, the more I love him. 😂❤
In a way, indeed.
I saw him for the first time in March, and it was, on paper, the worst concert I’ve ever been to, but it was still one of the best nights of my life 😂 it was just a massive honor being in the same room as him, even if you couldn’t understand a word he was saying and he looked like he didn’t wanna be there 😂😂
One of the best performances off this song I have ever heard. Period
It's a price I have to pay, you'll be true someday...WTF is with this genius? Not my favorite time frame but the vocal winds up being quite lovely. It's wonderful musically as well. A+ thank you and goodnight.
One of my favorite Dylan albums, beautiful.
I was at that show.
