Helle GT Knife Review

The Helle GT Knife is a large American-style knife that is made with Helle's laminate stainless steel.
There are two kinds of steel in this knife blade; a very hard steel that ends up on the blade edge (as it holds an edge very well), but if the whole blade was made out of that, it would be prone to being brittle because it is hard, so they laminate softer steel around that hard core to allow for flex.
The GT is suitable for medium to larger sized hands, which puts it in the same size range as the Helle Alden and the Helle Temagami knives. The GT is not a full tang knife but a stick tang, which makes it lighter weight and more nimble.
It also comes with a sheath with a buckle above the finger guard, so once you have your GT locked in it's sheath, it is not going anywhere you don't want it to.
