    Jarno Opmeer said the slip angle of the tryes is messed up, thats why this aggressive steering style works on this game.

      Yea you have too much grip over the limit of the tyre, but still not sure how that would make the higher steering angle faster than turning in normally?

      @@AlexGillonGaming If i remember correctly, he said a few times that it just slows you down a lot. So for example if you go deep, instead of keeping on braking and risking locking up, you just steer a lot and it slows you down and turns at the same time. So for regular cornering, they can probably brake later and still make the corner with the best line by turning aggressively

      @@AlexGillonGaming the reason for the increased steering angle and therefore in turn the double flick turn in technique being faster, is basically the first smaller turn in increases the friction between the tyres and the circuit and therefore increases the load in the tyres which in the game increases the level of grip, so then on the second turn in which is a higher steering angle it gives you more grip and turn in so you can then obviously carry a higher minimum speed and gain time. Hopefully I explained that okay.

    the aggressive steering in karting is used to scrub in the front tyres and gain extra tyre temps

    We learned that official F1 equal cars aren't equal because they didn't use them. They all had World car chassis and body with F1 official liveries. And I'm sure there will be someone who disagrees, so go back and watch on boards from different cars and you'll see the steering wheels are all the same and exactly the same as the World car wheels. I imagine the handling model was also slightly different than what we have as well from the insane steering lock

      Yea they do use F1 World cars because the other cars don't have equal wheelbases, making them handle very very slightly differently. Good point about the different handling though - they did have tweaks to their build, I wonder if some of this was from that!!

      It’s so so minuscule and they also said that certain cars take kerbs better than others

      @Ickle_33 День тому

      @africanpenguin3104 Yea, I know, I race pretty competitively and have experienced the different reactions of some of the cars. I agree it's pretty small differences, but it's enough to notice when you're playing at a high level and can affect the outcome of races. Which is why they don't use official cars. For the best in the World, it's even more likely to alter the outcome

    3:35 the rubber on the normal racing line becomes very slippery when it wet so the grip is off the normal racing line. the steering lock is partly to slow it down but to also load up the fronts when the kart grips up.

    The fact that these guys are finding that much time from moving a bit lower is insane, I need to learn how to make f1 setups though if I want to learn how to do it like f1, I need a setup coach lol

    I saw a video of sainz karting and he barely turns the wheel he uses the accelerator to steer and he was rapid

    The main thing we learned was that the F1 game is still as unrealistic and buggy as in 2016

    People are paid to make this game. How is this real? No one should give up their hard earned cash for this.

    Those esport kids are so nerdy! I couldn’t imagine them having an actual life or a gf and just put me off watching it. Don’t want to watch kids or nerds.
