So grateful for your lovely demos John, as a novice who does church pedestals it’s like having a hand to hold, it’s sometimes very daunting deciding what to put where knowing everyone’s going to look at the end result, me being my own worst critic! Teaching us contrast and balance is very helpful too, I learn more from you than anywhere else. PS the arrangements are beautiful! 👏👏
Wow. This is going to be of a great help. I am first ordained lady priest of Bombay Regional Conference, Methodist Church in India . I will take help of youth and try this for my church alter.
I do flowers for a chapel and cathedral I agree and I use numerous foliage types available and its adds interest and character and looks for natural as you say.
Die Basis sah schon echt cool aus. Die verschiedenen Farben grün Töne und Strukturen, Formen 👍 und das Endergebnis :WUNDERSCHÖN! Schade das ich keinen Wunsch frei habe!!!!! 😊😀☺💜
Dear John, thank you very much for this important subject for us to learn! Amazing how simply and clearly, and gorgeous at the same time it is coming from you!
Beautiful John. You can never have too much gyp in my opinion lol. When I got married a couple of years ago my bridesmaids had gyp bouquets and I had white avalanche roses and gyp, I treat myself to fresh flowers every 2 weeks and always have to have gyp x
Thank you very much.. This will help me if I will work side by side. And using variety of greenery , using carnations and your selected colours. I will be doing this arrangement for our church. Thank you.
The new studio is lovely John... I did love your work room though with all its shelves and bits and bobbins😘 x And thank you both as always, this work is fabulous x
Ummmm beautiful....I got an idea soon i,m making some flowers arrangements for a wedding....ummm these some of the great choices for the altar ....I love them ....fast and simple .....not too much time to arrange those 🌺☘🌺🍀🌺🍀🌺🍀🌺👏👏👏
Hi John, these are lovely. I love how they form almost a mirror image. The materials are really pretty: the salmon pink, ivory, white, green, yellow green, etc. blending into a lovely whole. Beautiful. ;0)
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent . . I am very interested watching it as a person that like flowers and no knowledge of arrangement I love it
This is such a great video. I love the way how you explained it step-by-step and this is exactly what I needed to see this is going to help me to make a flora arrangement for our church altar. Thank you!
Wonderful, John. I do mostly church flowers but seldom "sets" such as these. I love all the materials you used and have used them all myself. Could you please point me to the other tutorial you made featuring an altar arrangement? Once again, I am in awe of your talent. Thanks to you both for these marvelous videos!
Flower Joos Ahhh, okay. I may have misunderstood something you said in the video. In any case I’ll be on the lookout for that one. And, by the way, the new video space is great. While i didn’t mind the former space, this is good. How do you like it? You’re the one working in it. As long as you find it amenable, it’s cool. Again, thank you!
stepps511 thank you - yes the space is great, not having the big shelves behind that were full of stuff will be less distracting I think, and it’s more flexible to set to suit the design we are videoing. 😀
Good job, just the way I was taught to do it by my floral design teacher, Bea King. She was truly gifted. Her motto was: get the sale, figure out how to do it later. Desperation will cause inspiration!
What a great idea to do two arrangements side by side at the same time. I actually found it easier and far more faster then doing one by one. I know there're still a lot of people who doesn't like gypsophilia, but it has made its way back again. It just gives a starry feeling to an arrangement. John, how did you finished the back eventhough it's front facing?
Libra it is faster and they match better making them at the same time. For the back you can just add some short foliage to cover the foam - that’s all to finish it off.
"Long Live the Carnation" All the colors and their longevity, plus their sweet scent! I love them all!

Love this, do you think this could also work using moss and wire ? Thank you
Yes - if you can use trays with a little depth even better - then as long as every stem reaches into the water it’s perfect. 😀
they are really beautiful and suchpretty colours - so well done :-)
I learned a lot in your videos
Good...tank you.. magnifique
Very good John. :-)

Thanks so much
Yes it did! Many times.
Really enjoyed this video John, thank you. 🌷💜
Clare Perkins that’s great feedback - thank you!
Hello! Would an arrangement like this be okay to make 24 hours in advance? Or do I risk the flowers wilting? thanks in advance !
It should be fine - just give them a mist, and keep somewhere cool. Churches tend to be cooler inside so flowers last well there 😀🙋🏼♂️
