She killed the young claw guy because when she let the little boy go after killing the mute girl, he snitch on her. That was fresh on her mind.
Pretty sure she was hallucinating and killed a bunch of prisoners who weren't even attacking her...
They could have been individuals addicted to opium or starving vagabonds, etc.
You guys should watch the official black and white version of this episode that’s on UA-cam! Maybe as a bonus reaction after the finale 👀? It’s got an original score and more sinister atmosphere if that’s even possible.
Those “vampires” who were “attacking” her, I’m guessing, they were prisoners begging for her help but she was hallucinating and instead killed them instead

EVERY NETFLIX SUBSCRIBER IS A TRAUMA SURGEON - This is the episode more than any other that triggered everyone’s alleged suspension of disbelief. Who’d have known that so many people out there watching this show had doctorates in medicine and experience working as trauma surgeons. And what got everyone so lathered up is the moment Mizu caught an iron spike in her foot. I’ve heard everything from “It severed her femoral artery” to “She wouldn’t be able to walk because the spike punctured her Achilles tendon” posted in response.
The femoral artery runs across the inside of the thigh near the groin( first hint: its name is derived from the femur, the thighbone ) all the way to the back of the knee, where it becomes the popliteal artery. It would be nowhere near where Mizu’s foot was pierced. At that location, smaller blood vessels like the lateral tarsal artery, dorsalis pedis artery, and part of the peroneal artery are more likely to be affected, depending on the wound trajectory. And as for the Achilles, it was nowhere near the point of penetration, but even people with complete ruptures of that tendon have been able to walk and retain full mobility in their ankle.

People nit-pick this episode entirely too much, completely missing the entire point of it. It's filled with all kinds of surreal hallucinations and her being too angry to die. Her stubbornness being a driving force, but her realization at the end, which is the turning point. People need to stop talking it so literally and think about what the entire point is in relation to her journey.

Violet was seen in Episode 2 while Mizu was meditating on the cliff before the Shingi. Violet looked more like a white version of her while she looked like the Japanese "proper" version of herself. After killing Violet, she touched the marking on her arm.
Why think this is Violet? I think it shows her killing off the white versions of herself and become the more pure person she's supposed to be with each kill. Plus, again, she touches the marking on her arm after this flash. So, it's safe to say that Violet at least had some resemblance to her.

Such an intense episode. This show is absolutely amazing. On a side note: Fowler is so evil and it feels so strange to remind myself that this man (Kenneth Branagh) directed the live action Cinderella .

That Metallica needle drop was just as good as Eddie Munson in Stranger Things. Definitely gave me some Bruce Lee vibes.

She's been completely engrossed in her vengeful quest.
But, Ringo is the spiritually pure element that is offering her path of redemption.
He is just the best character. And everyone (not his father) who meets him, learns to appreciate everything he offers. In the strangest fashion, he clearly represents the cultural concept or demeanor of striving to focus on purity and perfection in one's life that modern Japanese culture is often seen as, by modern international standards.
They released an official, more Kurasawa-esque version of this episode on youtube with different soundtrack, mostly in monochrome.

Hey Steph and Kristen, it's been about 3 weeks now since you reacted to "2 Fast 2 Furious" and I'd like to try reminding you both to react to "Fast and Furious", "Fast 5" and "Fast and Furious 6" first before Tokyo Drift because they are prequels.
