modify this workout. Instead of doing the machines for each body part add them towards the middle to end of your workout. For me at least, I find machines to fatigue me quicker than free weights.
I was sold when he showed how he stretched out in between exercises. A lot of guys don’t care for mobility or flexibility, they just care about building muscle. Steve really knows what he’s doing and how to look after his body, very impressed
I projectile vomited outside my gym after this. Definitely the best leg workout I've ever done. And no I'm not lying, I literally was sick to my stomach. Might have pushed myself a bit too hard but hey, no pain no gain right?
Tried several programmes for legs but yours is the best programme adapted for me - can see the results after 3 weeks but the first week I could not even walk and perform my other exercices
I see why you won so many times. You don't look stiff and robotic like 90% of these guys youtube. Also, too many have a generic body-in-a-box look. Your look is very natural, full, and flexible.
Straight leg dead lift puts more emphasis on your hamstrings. Having your knees give a slight bend and pushing your hips back as you lower the weight, it gives some nice work in the hammies. Be sure to keep the weight on the heels.
"Go through this pain and the rest of the day everything it all seems easy" xD dude, after that intense workout, the only body part you'd move is your head!
You guys need to change your editing style or get a new editor. It's always terrible. Stop putting so much B rolls and close ups before we could actually see the movement done in full range of motion. Damn it
Peace be to you! Outstanding work young man! You're a very good instructor! I'm a middle-aged, marathon-running, ectomorph. Thus, I'll never get big. However, I find great value in these exercises for increasing running strength and efficiency ! I greatly appreciate the front squats. They're far more kind to my back than conventional behind-the-backs. Keep up the great work. BTW, what are your post-bachelor plans (MD, DO, PA, PT, PhD, etc)? I'm curious?🤔I wish you the VERY best of succes in your positive endeavors! Peace!
3:03 - "Never sacrifice your form". Best advice ever. I have paid the price a number of times in the past for not heeding these words in bills paid to my physio and set backs in my fitness training due to injury. :P
A few things. You should be doing squats(front or back) first, because this is the most taxing leg lift. Second, when do a standing or lying leg curl, what is the purpose of then doing a seated leg curl? The leg extension/jump squat superset is not bad idea, but doing walking lunges with weights would be far more effective. Also you should finish the leg workout with calf raises, either standing or seated. While your calf's are being utilized in some of these other exercises, the calf raise is essential if you really want them to look big and developed. A good workout nonetheless, but I believe this is designed more for beginners.
I love how they couldn't just stick to the same camera angle throughout even one of his seated leg curl reps so we could get a good perspective of his rom
at first i really don't like doing the front squats because im not yet comfortable doing it. but as i practiced it with lightweights, i already got the hang of it. i can go heavy with it. doing it, is not like up and down. there's some kind of angle you have to imagine in your mind when doing it, it's like when you go down, and up, you launch 90 degrees. i don't know how to explain it very thoroughly, but im sure you already know what im saying for those who doing front squats
Jasper Falsario What I mean.. is that you cant hide muscular imbalances/weaknesses with the front squat, if your back gives... leg/glute /core/ most times you can muscle it out in the back squat, but the front squat, if you usually will end up bailing the weight? do you know what I mean? There's more upper body activation I guess, if shits messed.. Chances are you wont make the lift.
I like these old videos more than the ones from swoldier nation. You look more serious and go over details that you skip on more recent videos. Maybe it's about the gums you are now eating compulsively ;P.
Thats the point. He is getting paid here to be detailed about the workout. In his own channel he is basically giving highlights with most of the detail being saved for those that follow him
true, but if you too down you might bulk up your ass and might injure your lower back,if you parallel they might hit your quads but wont give some skinny guys a defined glutes, its on your bodytypes, same goes for leg press, there's no point in following the plan exactly,we should learn to modify it as per our preferences
Nate Shoemaker Nice! Well, just a suggestion, state that in the video to clarify that to avoid in confusion. Being not only a primary muscle of the legs, but of the body being it's used a lot on a daily basis. Actually because of that, it can even be trained several times a week, just like abs. Also, I don't see calves being incorporated in other videos... There's many ways to do them and some key points from such a pro as Steve could sure help. Just my humble 2 cents! But again, great video, thanks!
I have a lower lumbar injury and I've been told to not do deadliest or heavy back squats (I know this workout has front squats, just saying.) Is there an alternative I can do to straight leg deadlifts? I don't want to aggravate my lower back.
A Dead Lift is called "Dead Lift" for a reason. You drop the weight after each repitition. Either you drop your weight or you're just doing something else.
daaamn :O good workouts in this vid but don't have the most equipment in the gym :/ finished with traps, biceps, chest etc..i gotta do this :/ ..but how with no most of the equipment
someone pls help I watch these video once a day for my workout sometimes i even watch 2 in one day (arm video in morning and legs video at night) but I still don't see any results I am still overweight and not strong like Steve Cook. Pls help
Dude you need to watch once in the afternoon too and maybe consider hitting the gym but that just maybe a waste of time. Research shows that watching workout videos 3 times daily greatly enhances muscle growth. This is further supported by testimonies from Mr. Universes where during the last month leading to their competition they just binge watch UA-cam workout videos. Now you can't get anymore conclusive evidence than that so I suggest you get very comfortable with these videos.

Man I'd switch it up with the quad section first then the hamstrings always go with the hardest first, but that's just my opinion
Legend!
whoever can finish this exercise in 45 minutes may god be with you
Hahaha Hilarious. May God be with you too bro
Cody Hendo seriously! I'd be on the squat rack for over an hour
IF and that's a big IF i finish in 45 min then i won't be walking for 3 days !
Cody Hendo m
modify this workout. Instead of doing the machines for each body part add them towards the middle to end of your workout. For me at least, I find machines to fatigue me quicker than free weights.
Thought he was gonna say "If you don't have this machine in your gym, find a new gym" lol
lol
it's true though, what waste gym doesn't have a leg press ahaha
You''ve better change the place if there are not such basic facilities.
That would be funny haha
I was sold when he showed how he stretched out in between exercises. A lot of guys don’t care for mobility or flexibility, they just care about building muscle. Steve really knows what he’s doing and how to look after his body, very impressed
I projectile vomited outside my gym after this. Definitely the best leg workout I've ever done. And no I'm not lying, I literally was sick to my stomach. Might have pushed myself a bit too hard but hey, no pain no gain right?
keep on grinding💪
Beast
Are you idiot
I did this yesterday and every fiber of my being wanted to throw up, i gagged a few times walking back home ahhaha, man that was great
They probably didn't eat enough food post workout.
Tried several programmes for legs but yours is the best programme adapted for me - can see the results after 3 weeks but the first week I could not even walk and perform my other exercices
The song at the end is Drive It Home by Dan Phillipson for those who were wondering
I see why you won so many times. You don't look stiff and robotic like 90% of these guys youtube. Also, too many have a generic body-in-a-box look. Your look is very natural, full, and flexible.
I did 25 minutes of this and my Legs were on fire. 45 minutes is ideal but by 25 minutes my legs were already jello 🔥 loved it
heading off to gym to try this routine now, god help me
Same here buddy :D
Thank you very much good exercises, tomorrow its legs day for me and I'll try those exercises
Straight leg dead lift puts more emphasis on your hamstrings. Having your knees give a slight bend and pushing your hips back as you lower the weight, it gives some nice work in the hammies. Be sure to keep the weight on the heels.
"Go through this pain and the rest of the day everything it all seems easy" xD dude, after that intense workout, the only body part you'd move is your head!
all that effort and not a bead of sweat. shennanigans!
You guys need to change your editing style or get a new editor. It's always terrible. Stop putting so much B rolls and close ups before we could actually see the movement done in full range of motion. Damn it
i mean, they put the activity in bold letters and explain it. you dont really need to see all 10 reps to know he's doing it.
This is fucking intense
i love how this comment is 4 years old and youre saying its intense...my brother you made it ahaha
holy
watching this after 6 years :) Love ya Laid , fkin motivating and inspirating me !!
Peace be to you! Outstanding work young man! You're a very good instructor! I'm a middle-aged, marathon-running, ectomorph. Thus, I'll never get big. I'd really like to see how deep you go and also I'd like to see your knees over feet, etc.. I have a hard time with the front squats
3:03 - "Never sacrifice your form". Best advice ever.

Love the workout. Going to try it on my next leg workout.
indeed, above paralell no hamstring/glute is involved, still u should do full front squats, so u can take out one hamstring isolation...
Leg day is my favourite day. Kidding a great bodybuilder loves working all his body parts the same but I really like leg day!
Just did this and tried to go pick up groceries after and had a hard time walking through the store let alone leaving the gym. Great workout
Sir,
if you can add specific gym workout for 100M sprinters and diet it will be very helpful
Also adding "Farmers Walks" is a very good exercise. It is good for your legs, and your traps.
jakethemuss3 not really good for traps unless you flex them not amazing for legs and mainly for forearms
Its never to late to follow your passion
Thats a deep v
Finished this whole workout! Left the gym like a newborn baby goat. Now I'm having difficulties sitting down to take a shit. Gret Workout!!
I love how they couldn't just stick to the same camera angle throughout even one of his seated leg curl reps so we could get a good perspective of his rom
yes you can the point of this workout is to progressively use more weight each work out
I swear I'm here to change my leg day routine but hot damn!
this is my new leg routine and im loving it!
i can't wait to get over my sciatic nerve injury
That's the best exercises for leg day. Although I would also add inner and outer thigh machines at the end.
Killer leg workout..must try!!! 💪🙌❤🔥
Could barely walk down the gym stairs after this workout haha love it
just done this workout and felt so pumped up but when I got home I've just realised that I've skipped the calf's arghhh 😤😭
I'm going to follow this is awesome
he's a competitive bodybuilder...they keep clean shaves dawg
I like how everybody can critique his front squats even though Steve's Legs are probably bigger than all of there's.
Took me forever to scroll down on popular page for bodybuilding to find a leg workout
Hi Steve cook .... I hope you are doing good ..... Can you guide me for increasing the muscles. And give some schedule for every day workout
“I love leg day” said no man ever 😂
in back of your shins and under your quads typically above your feet
11:35 "your legs should be feeling a little bit rubbery" I'm only watching the video and I feel like my legs gave out half way through this vid.
Awesome legs. Building me some wheels tomorrow
Awesome workout
Dude’s still a legend.
Great motivation
What's the point of the belt if you're only going a quarter of the way down?
May be late to reply but you'll feel the tension on the lower back
@@RENEINDmaybe more late to reply, but what he is pointing out is Steve Cook's wacky squat form
Sudhansh Khatri maybe even more than more later to reply but I think you have a solid point
I just want to ask body building.com or steve cook, why isnt there a 'abs' workout video in the "big man on campus" videos?
"If you go fast on legs, you're not getting the results that you could be" proceeds to do leg extensions at 100mph
Mr Steve thank you for this routine ,i need to start doing front squats, i have a question where did you buy that beautiful brown belt thank you.
Okay I am definitely not doing this for my first leg day after having to take some time off I'll probably do half of it today
at first i really don't like doing the front squats because im not yet comfortable doing it. but as i practiced it with lightweights, i already got the hang of it. i can go heavy with it. doing it, is not like up and down. there's some kind of angle you have to imagine in your mind when doing it, it's like when you go down, and up, you launch 90 degrees. i don't know how to explain it very thoroughly, but im sure you already know what im saying for those who doing front squats
Front squats are all I do now, have to use less weight but I don't feel any strain in my lower back. The weight in front keeps you upright.
If there are any weaknesses/imbalances.. the front squat will expose you
Kocis19 what do you mean man
Jasper Falsario What I mean.. is that you cant hide muscular imbalances/weaknesses with the front squat, if your back gives... leg/glute /core/ most times you can muscle it out in the back squat, but the front squat, if you usually will end up bailing the weight? do you know what I mean? Amazing video
excelent tutorial video. .
U r great motivation...keep it up bro
Nice workout
Does this video have a link to all of the workouts performed in this video explained?
Heyyyy My name is Steve too !So can I get legs like you? Nice vid Big Man
Most of my gym partners hate doing legs. I always end up alone while they go back on training the upper body. -_-
Get new partners
Exactly what ^ this guy is saying haha
I seen some africans in africa training legs in another video. Ever think about going home?
lmfao
Mats Eddy Jambon I would call them girls, but even girls do legs more than guys lol.....soooo idk what 2 say
are those track shorts?? hate wearing ball shorts to gym when I finally have that tear drop to show off
I like these old videos more than the ones from swoldier nation. You look more serious and go over details that you skip on more recent videos. Maybe it's about the gums you are now eating compulsively ;P.
Ftffvbnju
Aspartame o_-
The full trainers are on his site
Thats the point. He is getting paid here to be detailed about the workout. In his own channel he is basically giving highlights with most of the detail being saved for those that follow him
*pay for the content
true, but if you too down you might bulk up your ass and might injure your lower back,if you parallel they might hit your quads but wont give some skinny guys a defined glutes, its on your bodytypes, same goes for leg press, there's no point in following the plan exactly,we should learn to modify it as per our preferences
14-16 reps on front squats is wild
Awesome
I will only put on a belt when doing squats over 160 kg. In my opinion wearing a belt all the time only weakens the lower back.
I like it boy💪
Oh wow, this looks painful. I can't wait to try this workout. Looking forward to not being able to walk!
Nice bro.
Great workout and video. However, I didn't see any calf exercises in there...
Calves are done on another day!
Nate Shoemaker Nice! Well, just a suggestion, state that in the video to clarify that to avoid in confusion. Being not only a primary muscle of the legs, but of the body being it's used a lot on a daily basis. Actually because of that, it can even be trained several times a week, just like abs. But again, great video, thanks!
Ruben Matamoros .... I'm not Steve Cook....
Nate Shoemaker Mmm yes "Nate", I noticed lol, never said you were.
Ruben Matamoros The Big Man on Campus program incorporates calves twice a week.
Im curious how the first exercise, the straight legged dead lift, works legs? Isn't that all core?
Did this, sat back in the shuttle to go back home and was unable to get up and get my legs straight!! killed my legs :(
I love leg day. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I feel more knackered than any other workout.
Okay stupid question time: is leg day strictly leg / core workouts?
good workout :)
All that exercise and his hair is still perfect
nice vido thx
Anyone got substitutes for seated leg curl and leg press?
+Fornavn Etternavn back squats and lunges
Jake Meades Working out in a gym now, but thank you anyway!
Too much jump cuts in the editing. Can't see full range of motion.
Lol at this video having the least amount of views compared to the rest of the workouts.
+Arjun Rai everyday is upper body day, apparently
it's actually funny because they wanna be manly by only working out upper body when they aren't manly enough to take the pain of leg day hahaha
You wouldn’t believe how many people in my gun alone noticeably ignores leg days.
Any reason for doing both standing/lying leg curl AND seated leg curl? Are there different benefits?
BigTurs peak contaction in the mid-lower portion to the upper portion of the hamstrings
For howlong should i be performing this routine ? I mean in addition to cheat-triceps / shoulders-trapz workouts ?.
Am I the only one who noticed that, when Steve started doing "Leg Press" it was more of a hack squat?
same here
+Anthony Ramirez your mom noticed too
he said specifically "today, we are hitting hamstrings & quads" at 00:53
I have a lower lumbar injury and I've been told to not do deadliest or heavy back squats (I know this workout has front squats, just saying.)
Is there an alternative I can do to straight leg deadlifts? I don't want to aggravate my lower back.
Does weight training stunts growth
Nice gym
if your not a powerlifter, or a competitive athlete, Front squats are a way more effective muscle builder
Steve Cook has amazing legs. Cut, muscular, thick and aesthetic.
+Sebastian Valdivieso thick, solid, tight.
Steve wot in tarnation is up with the shirt dude
It looked nice...especially with the belt on.
A Dead Lift is called "Dead Lift" for a reason.
You drop the weight after each repitition.
Either you drop your weight or you're just doing something else.
meant repetition, sorry.
Daniel Dreizehn you're forgiven!
daaamn :O good workouts in this vid but don't have the most equipment in the gym :/ finished with traps, biceps, chest etc..i gotta do this :/ ..but how with no most of the equipment
you sure have a squat rack, that's a basement :D
someone pls help I watch these video once a day for my workout sometimes i even watch 2 in one day (arm video in morning and legs video at night) but I still don't see any results I am still overweight and not strong like Steve Cook. Pls help
how long youve been working out?
Losing weight is all about the calorie intake. It doesn't matter how much you train if you intake more calories than you need.
Did you try to watch it until failure?
Can't believe people are taking this seriously haha
I wonder what gym machine manufacturer is that ?
Can i still do the squats and deadlifts with dumbbells? Would it still work?
Super nice legs bro
had to do lunge jumps for conditioning at wrestling practice and there was a state champ in the room borderline crying.
