@ElisabettaVS You´re right, and that despite the rather poor quality of the recording. For me personally, my actual state of mind decides which tune of him I like the most. When I listen to his voice I hear pure sensitivity and the only thing i feel is love, regardless of what he´s singing. If you listen to his versions of "Der Zarewitsch", "Ännchen von Tharau" or many other songs. your simply overwhlmed by emotions...

Actually I prepared two audio files with Wunderlich singing this aria, to the same video. One is the studio record (just perfect) and the other he sings a different text (I don't know why) and finishes the aria with a high C# (totally amazing). I hope you enjoy.
@billyguns2 Personally, i find that "Von Apfelblüten einen Kranz" is way more beautiful than "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz". At first, I only knew the latter, but now that I have heard *this*.... wow... especially when sung by Fritz... it is amazing, isn't it?
agreed. I can listen to this forever and ever. I am trying to memorize the lyrics, although I don't know German. Dein Ist .. is how I discovered WF. But this aria is more tender. And it has an exotic tune, a bit Chinese?

Eso era cantar!! Oh paradiso perduto!! A natural instrument? Of course but there are thousand of good natural instruments. This is a combination of technique, natural color and musical taste. Well, his german is not perfect(ha,ha)
Would you mind providing more details about his imperfection? I admit I don't know anything about diction. I only speak English and Mandarin. And there are few operas in English. Chinese operas are not European classical music.
