This dish was brought to Hawaii over half a century ago by Filipinos contracted to work on sugar plantations . You can even find it every day at Japanese and Chinese lunch shops and has been very popular amongst Hawaii's melting pot of nationalities for generations. It's also common to see locals have it for breakfast served with a fried egg on top.

I had my first dinuguan at a relative's party when we lived in the Philippines. They told me it was "chocolate" stew. So, the 8 year old me ate two bowls with puto and loved it! They forgot I'm part Irish german, my grandfather often served us drisheen and blutwurst, both blood sausages so dinuguan didn't faze me at all. Jokes on them!! 😂😂
I remember when I was pregnant I would always crave for dinuguan. And whenever we went to Filipino restaurants, I’ll see a few pregnant Filipinas eating dinuguan too! Too funny

Dinuguan like adobo also has a bunch of variations depending on the province. In our province, we cook dinuguan dried and we mix it with chicharon or kawali (whichever available), not too sour but kinda sweet and cruchy, with a touch of spice.
I love Dinuguan. It's made of pork blood, vinegar, pig stomach cut into mouth-sized slices, finger chili. Pork meat can also be added. I don't know exactly how it is prepared. Mother loves to cook it for our meals when I was a kid. Some religions like the Iglesia Ni Cristo don't eat it. But I'm a Born Again Christian. We can eat anything edible. It's really delicious, more so with a steaming rice on your plate.
There is usually at least one person that gets freaked out hearing there is blood in it before eating. I recommend letting people try the food first. Very good that they all ate it with rice (probably because they were all nervous about the blood). I would also recommend having people eat the Filipino way - with a spoon and fork. (So much easier to eat the meat and rice together with a spoon!)
Nah, its rude to feed someone something without explaining or describing what it is. Let them make the choice. You may unknowingly violate their cultural or religious beliefs. You may also trigger allergies. This is especially true with karekare since it contains peanuts.
Dinuguan is an acquired taste and I commend these ladies for even trying it. I love the girl’s energy in the black shirt she is so down I love it! The reaction of girl in the red shirt is priceless 👍👏😆 I almost felt bad

Guys I'm drooling already. I remember my sister in law when she visited the Philippines, she felt the same thing but then since she saw that my brother loves it, she tried and she was in love with it. 🙂🙂🙂
Actually Greek has this kind of dish Its called melas zomos black broth and it traces way way back then And its a part of ancient sparta army diet. Poland has this kind of food as well the dish name is czernina But the difference is its made of duck’s blood.
When i work in uae i had kenyan, indian and nepali friend who ate everything we served 😅😅,.they always said, as long as its edible eat it,.in return everything they served we eat,....they love sinigang we as well taught them how to cook,.everytime they go to vacation(they brought maybe 2 dozes of sinigang mix) 😊
It’s nice that they were game to try it. And it’s awesome that they loved it. I was hoping that the lady with the red jacket would try it again seeing that the others loved it. I need to try it later with sriracha.
The german BLUTWURST is cooked without vinegar so the blood remains reddish. Te French has Boudin Noir. Many other cultures all over the world eat dinuguan in many forms.

My kids was born and raised in spain they are 24 and 20 now my older one loves to eat dinuguan, papaitan, bopis, but my younger one loves to eat pinakbet, sinigang tinola adobo but he doesn’t like dinuguan and pinapaitan. That is thi only Pinoy dish that he doesn’t like.
We don't use vinegar with dinuguan because once dinuguan becomes warm a white thing appears which is not pleasant. Haha! We use coconut milk instead. Haha
When I was a kid, my mother would always cook dinuguan, and it became my favorite because of its delicious taste. My mother is also an expert in cooking dinuguan. However, as I discovered that it is actually forbidden to eat according to the Bible, even though it tasted good, I stopped eating it and asked forgiveness from God for my ignorance.
Dinuguan should be pig intestine, liver, kidneys and other carcass. Tas yung sabaw naman niya is hindi kumpol2. Dapat parang sticky water ang consistency niyan. Apakasarap. However may iba't ibang version ang dinuguan pero yang nabanggit ko ang pinakamasarap sa lahat

Blood dishes existed during the time of the Spartans. It was a standard meal for young Spartan trainees that have proven thier worth.
