None of this is new because they do raid the prison a couple of times a year and as the public we're always surprised and hope that correctional services will do better but nothing ever really changes. Hopefully they will change this time because we've a new minister but only time will tell.
If none of this is new it means it was not effective or there's something they were not doing right.
Their unions is too strong. It's almost impossible to fire a warden. I know a lady that sat at home for 8 years cause she was found to smuggle in dagga to prisoners. After 8 years the union won her case to be reinstated & she returned back to work. 😢She even got compensation for the years she sat at home. Crime pays in this country.
If we really want to stop wardens from doing this they need to be punished & if found out, get fired & lose half their pensions. The system right now is not working.
