What Dr Rangan and other experts on the air are disclosing is scientific and a paradigm shift in the way we and medical science view modern diseases and approaches to control them.
I have been experimenting on myself with the very concept being advocated by Dr Rangan and regained my vitality, vigour and self awareness. ❤👍🏻

I’m almost 60. When I was a kid, we would play in the woods, we got dirty, wet, and in the winter, very cold. We still carried on because that was all there was. No mobile phones, no Xbox, no internet etc. Just building camps, running around kicking a football. We would be out all day, mostly without eating either. I don’t remember anyone having asthma, or food allergies. We were socially strong too, because we were sorting out who we were in life from 5 years old. What people now perceive as progress, is actually the total reverse. It’s a shame now, never to see kids playing games in the streets. Skipping or chasing each other around. I still live in the same house and street as I grew up in. There were dozens of kids of all ages on the street, just hanging out or having fun. I look out there now, even in the summer, and the street is dead. The kids are indoors. Sad situation all round.

People had asthma back in the old days. You're making some valid points but by exaggerating them you are detracting from your argument. It wasn't all good in the old days just as it isn't all bad now.

Listening to him I realize that he speaks of the life of my peasant grandparents. They have lived for a long time without any disease. - only habits of life and nutrition, balanced. - sleep / wake up - without clock. - I remember well that there was never sugar in their home! Interesting! - Very different from my city habits. - We must correct our idea of progress and correct our "lifestyle" - to achieve a good quality of life.

The key is, as you said, high whole food, including whole cooked rice, potatoes. Sweet potatoes, quinoa, etc. Fillip your plate with some great vegis including dark leafy greens. My plate is gorgeous, with all the purple, red, green, foods. Everyone comments, on how beautiful it is. I think my body appreciates it too. The food has plenty of fat, protein, and carbs, along with micronutrients. Nice to know that the most nourishing foods are also the lowest calorie so eat up!

This is without doubt a very strong link between Brain-mind-heart-body as shown here with the strong breathing technique and cold water, but it exists as a subtle link between movement and mood, e.g. Music and mood, creative processes and mood and rhythms of nature and mood - and you can tap into it also with subtle ways as e.g. yoga inspired movement, dance movement, any kind of activity that you are able to do with a loving, caring attitude as an act of giving yourself unconditionally as a cantillation of life when doing your daily work, when walking - its a mirror of the balance between choosing a loving and aware attitude or a worried, scared and fearfull attitude. You can pray to open your heart to go with love and light 💜

Best ever about how to eat and be healthy for real! I knew much of it already but loved to hear more of some things explained, and in just one episode. I am not sure the vagus nerve was mentioned. But it is involved in these processes with breathing. And it is also involved when good microbes in the gut somehow communicates through the vagus nerve with the brain. More bad microbes in the gut can be measured during depression. I think eating vegetables and good microbes can make it better. Deep breathing send signals through the vagus nerve to the brain and then calm down the whole body. Cranio sacral teraphy focus at that nerve. It is so interesting how much impact it has. A whole episode could probably be about that nerve. But if not; just google and learn more. It is also possible to stimulate it with some special yoga. Thank you for very interesting conversations!

    This is so simple
I always did this if not cold at least cool. Shower warm to start and gradually getting colder
Always rinsed my hair in cold water. Hot water opens the pores dnd leaves us open for germs. Cold water closes the pores. Growing up by time i got up being pne of youngest in family water was cold before i got to wash and only had hot water once a week..
So mostly had to wash in cold water. It keept us healthy..... central heating we got from our food.....we need to get back to that.

This doctor has Indian wisdom with modern medical knowledge.
In indian plant based satvic diet, nutrition from food has given lot of importance. We believe that food has all the healing power. So many diseases can be cure by just managing what you eat and how you eat.
If we make sure when our food reaches from plant to plate with minimal processing, it has highest amount of nutrients.

I learned how to use my mind to heal. I've been putting it into practice on headaches. It's been working for me. My dad read about using the mind to heal the body. I liked the sound of that. But, I wondered how. Robert sent me a cd with instruction of how to relax. Madame M lent me a book about faith to make things happen for me. Anger management played into this. It's all a recipe to heal the body. Of course, eating is essential for the body also.

I totally agree with most of what you and your exponents say, but I am wondering whether a cold shower would be advisable for my husband who has Reynauds quite badly.
Can you please tell me what the name of the Scottish lass on your ‘driving factors of systemic inflammation…’ is please?
How can I go about setting up a social prescribing clinic at our local doctors please?
I am nearly 75! I don’t take any medication other than an immune booster that I buy over the counter! I have done yoga since I was 17 - I keep fit and active! I eat organic at home (which is most of the time) a mainly pescatarian diet 16/8 fasting, which because I have never enjoyed breakfast has been most of my life, with a main meal and a snack!
My maternal aunt died of a stroke as did my father, so for the last thirty years I have had regular blood tests at the doctor to check my cholesterol! The last time; about three months ago; when I rang to get one of these blood tests my doctor told me that I could not have one unless I went on statins. I told him I would think about it. I have but only negatively I’m afraid! I wish you were my GP! I live in Leicestershire. I wonder if you could suggest an NHS doctor. Best regards Suse

Ruffage and fiber in Uk and elsewhere equate to bran and brown bread and brown rice. Whereas fiber is from vegetables and legumes snd lentles and whole grains .i always stayed away from anything brown. As my instinct told me that whole grain wheat bread was worse for my wheat allergy than white bread which i kept to a minimum. Also brown rice. Now hear scientist telling the same storey. My intuition told me. And i was right.

I read a book on Taoist Eastern medicine (food and fasting as medicine) diet. It recommended most of your diet be raw veggies. I lost lots of weight and had more energy, and was happier. Speaking of the cold water therapy the "Iceman" recommends and how it's a mirror of you health and ability to handle stress...while canoeing we found cold spring ~ 40°, feeding into the main river. It was the most profound feeling, a peace and joy, almost like leaving all your thoughts. I've tried to take a mildly cold shower since after a bad divorce returning to the typical American sugar, carb rich diet for years. Instead of laying in a 40° river for an hour in a state of literal.bliss as I had when eating an eastern raw food/fasting diet, I lasted about 5seconds in a mildly cool shower before I couldn't take it anymore. I also can have a meltdown now from something as simple as not being able to find my keys. "The cold is a mirror" is a profoundly true statement.as to the state of your immune system which OF COURSE is linked to that our mental health!
It explains so much of the crazy mess in America today!
Also iin that book it talked about an old study done in the USSR of doctor supervised fasting for long periods and how it cured cancers an diseases considered at the time incurable. Nearly a century later America is catching up by necessity (chronic pain and sickness) to the rest of the worlds ancient medicinal knowledge while simultaneously spreading OUR crappy diet to other cultures. It's a shame.

I am a person who resides in NYC and I am trying to get a recommendation to see a good quality doctor I can speak to who can try to figure out my health concern after going to the emergency room from a slight headache on the right side of my head and underneath my right eye.
While I was picking up my medication I felt a throbbing pain underneath my left rib...I was coming home at the time and it felt like a sharp pain..like someone punching me. I immediately called 911 and had all sorts of tests ran ..cat scan...ekg...echo cardiogram...I was in constant pain the whole time also at the same time I was feeling this heat in my body that ran through my back and cheat that felt unsettling...I was kept over night for observation and my blood pressure and heart rate was monitored overnight. I felt better at that time and then was discharged. When I tried to go to sleep that night something was not right!! I still felt the warm tingly feeling in my back and chest. Then I proceeded to get more effects...tingly feeling in my fingers (ring and pinky)...also toes in right foot also tingly. Then I felt a pain under my right shoulder blade and top of shoulder off and on. Also on top of that I felt my right hand just go limp with no feeling until I shake it off, and then today I had diarrhea that burned along with left nostril the other day being dried out with mucus...????I have been to emergency many many times and the doctors just throw pills at the symptoms and not look at the problem...its just acetaminophen..ibruprofen...amlodipine..valsartan...atorvastatin and muscle relaxers....they don't seem to be doing anything...I am in the process of trying to see a neurologist and a orthopedic. If there is anyone that can give any advice or if you are going through a similar problem please message me with any suggestions. Does anyone know a really good doctor that will look at my condition that is in new york...I know it's a long shot but I was trying to reach out to someone like Mark Hyman..or Roger Seheult..someone who knows what they are talking about and not someone who is just a resident or physician assistant...when it comes to your life no one is going to be concerned as you are. God bless and be safe♡

I had a lot of similar symptoms when I had a stomach ulcer and fatty liver. Both are healed now from low carb keto intermittent fasting lifestyle. As far as the tingling in fingers and feet and heat in the body, I had those as well when I was panicking myself with constant thinking about what might be wrong with me. It put my adrenaline fight/flight response in overdrive and made me really hypersensitive to all the little aches and pains in my body. I’m definitely no doctor but sometimes I tell myself that some aches and pains are a normal part of aging. And now instead of me focusing on what might be wrong I focus on doing what’s best for any body, those who are sick and those who are not. Mainly with exercise and eating the right foods (mainly Whole Foods and I focus a lot on anti inflammatory) And my health has skyrocketed. I wish you all the best 😊

Very informative but it would’ve been more memorable if it was a shorter video, one thing that is really not addressed is the fact that we live in noisy cities and noise pollution becomes a normal thing for us because we are raised in cities but nevertheless it affects us in a bad way , every time I hear motorcyclist intentionally causing headache causing noise I feel extremely stressed and a migraine attack begins , we are noise blind but our brains get affected negatively.

31mins ~~ I struggle with the blanket commitment to forgiveness just for the sake of health. I feel like the onus falls of the individual who has been wronged. Over time, it feels like we’re condoning the perpetrator…. Perhaps our inner peace and lowered stress levels which help health ought to derive from more social-communal commitments to support people who’ve been socially-politically-emotionally hurt

Get an affordable head massager ( or ask someone to massage), dim all the lights, play a calm music, put the phone and TV away, massage for 30-45 minutes...when you are getting sleepy, do not get out of the bed, instead close your eyes and fall asleep. As long as you can achieve 1-2 hours of deep sleep out of 7 hrs of sleep is great... Move away from the habit of popping pills and heal naturally... When you believe you can.

the problem with saying NO is that it starts at home. Kids get used to working parent agreeing to everything. I gave up my business to stay at home with my kids and I know in the world today thats not possible I just did not need that much and made a decision. Its not easy for teachers who battle with undisciplined kids. Teaching begins at home.

As a former teacher, the teachers, at least in jr. high and high school, are only taught to teach their particular curriculum. They are told to only teach to the tests, and teachers have become robots because of the system, and it’s up to the teacher to interject life skills information. I taught my students to meditate because I saw how stressed they were. Oh! The other teachers and the administration were not happy, but I did it anyway..
Some cried if they got an A-, and worried from 9th grade on about their grades so they could get into a good college.
The entire outlook was, snd is, ridiculous!

I don’t know if this is relevant but i remember one time in Home ec class i told the teacher that the “low fat low salt high carb” diet and frequent meals weren’t actually good for us. The entire syllabus of home ec revolved around reducing saturated fat as much as possible, to consume a lot of whole grain breads and pasta, and eat frequent small meals.
I explained it to her and she even let me show videos and research articles to the rest of the class. The other girls were making disgusted faces at me and wouldn’t listen to what I said. The teacher then told me that its probably not right and that we need to do what the syllabus says. I was only 12 but this upset me a lot.

    • @markcotton3481

@@alicia-hd2cs Sounds relevant. Some of those other girls, perhaps most of them, statistically speaking are probably obedient citizens who do their small part to perpetuate the status quo, ensuring that their children will also develop into upstanding citizens who are compliant, overweight and prone to mood swings. I am simplifying but this is a thing and it starts with being taught obedience as a higher virtue than intellectual curiosity.

Low Carb is too general a term. I do much better with low grain, low starch, moderate protein, carbs are in the form of vegetables, mostly greens. Whatever you wanna call that, it works for me. The problem with grains/starch is that is too processed. And it’s just not practical to be making my own pasta or true “whole grains”. Also, I’m sensitive to gluten, oats, grains and legumes. I also started making my own keto sweets for the occasional treat. It’s possible to choose some alternatives to sugar. I wish people would do more research on the specific diets and not generalize just because they are not experienced with a particular diet. I also monitor my blood sugar after eating certain foods. Hands down, low starch carbs and low grain regulates my blood glucose. But carbs in veggies are fine. Eggs…sometimes even reduces glucose levels. Garlic also…so I have 2-3 fresh gloves daily. Glucose monitor leads one to the truth.

Stop being scared of salt. Eat fermented foods like sauerkraut. Oatmeal with a whole banana is not a “healthy weight loss meal”. It is a sugar bomb.
