Hey Joe. My friend and I caught a nice 45-46 inch musky on a carry-in only lake up in northern Wisconsin last Summer. We began by working a few islands, and then crept into a small corner bay. As we crept into that bay, my friend tossed his double-bladed bucktail right up on the shoreline and began his retrieve. The fish came up and gently gulped the lure. As I paddled and looked for a spot on the wild shoreline to park the canoe and land the fish, I noticed that this musky had been using a large submerged white pine tree that we didn't know was initially there. He played the fish out, we landed it, took some pictures, and then released the fish. Your video here about bank fishing cover reminded me of that.
Great story! Congrats on your success.
Great tactics Joe! Fishing through cover can be intimidating for me, but a good lure and technique helps out big time.
Thanks Omar! While cover might not be essential with reds and trout, it sure can be with many freshwater predators.
Love the slop master. Also great around timber and blow downs on river systems
Cool, thanks! 👊
Spring cold fronts I always switch to spinner baits and fish shallow in the thick weeds.
Slopmaster works well slow rolling across clean bottoms as well
