Ladies, Gentlemen. I am going to sing "Minnie the Moocher." I will sing first "hidey hidey ho". Then you, the public, will respond, "hidey hidey ho." This.
i know a teeny teeny bit of Spanish. It is similiar to Italian. They are both Romantic languages (originating from Rome). I am sure it is not accurate, but i think that is what he said in his intro.
What a wonderful showman cab Calloway was, great voice . Great Spanish too I didn’t know he could speak Spanish. He had a great interaction with the public. Regards mark
@@AlejandroLeonVilla It's because he had a American accent. To someone who doesn't know either Italian or Spanish that makes it sound as if he's speaking American Spanish. Fair misjudgement.
@@MrCamara47 Have you ever heard of The Great Depression? It started in 1929 and lasted until 1941. This song came out in 1931. Most people did not own a gramaphone some had a piano and they would play the song from sheet music otherwise their only option was to hear it on the radio. I'd be surprised if this song might not have been too risque' for a lot of radio stations?
bro was a true performer
Se avessi una macchina del tempo vedere Cab sarebbe uno dei miei primi obiettivi.

How well Cab Calloway speaks Spanish surprises me. He is a great musician and great artist, the best in the world. 😊❤

I wonder if he ever sang this song the same way twice?
This was in an era where it was assumed if the people wanted to hear it how it was on the record, they'd sit home and listen to it there.
