Just curious: -Is there a reason you don't own any essie polishes? -And any reason you choose to display your OPIs on the revolving tower versus any of the other brands you own?
It would be nice if all polish manufacturers had a sticker on top of the bottles showing the color inside the bottles. Great collection & organization.
I just painted polish swatches onto masking tape and then cut out squares and stuck them to the top of each bottle. It helps, especially for gels - just make sure to do a base coat or the gel won’t stick to the masking tape.
When I tell my family and friends that i have nearly 200 bottles of nail polish, they think I'm crazy. Then when I tell them my favorite UA-camrs have around 1000-3000 bottles, they lose their minds. 😂😂
I can see why the Picture Polish is one of your favorite drawers, It looks neat!! I just realized you don't have any Essie polishes, that's impressive!!
CJ DUNROVIN I actually don’t use them either since they aren’t cruelty free. But I was just curious since she does have OPI (which isn’t cruelty free).
That is a great question, Anna. I used to own a bunch but I ended up gifting them to friends because I just didnt love the formula or the old brush. I've heard its improved though, maybe worth another shot!
I love the LA Colors drawer. It was a bright pop of happy color. I love that you own over 2000 polishes. I don't know exactly how many I own yet but I'm closing in on 600 as I'm organizing. Now I feel like a small collector and can stop freaking out. You're the best, thanks for that Kelli. 😁😅
I don't know if you've seen it, but twinkled t has a cotton ball picker upper that is the best thing ever! It kind of looks like a click pen and a grabber comes out and holds your cotton ball so you can clean stamping plates, stampers, nail art mat, just whatever you need cleaned with acetone so you dont have to wear gloves or figure out how without messing up your nails
🌈Kelli🌈 The drawer I like the *best* is the one with gems, top coats, textures, latex, ect. This is because....no matter how many polishes, which color you use, or your skill set, all these items can take your mani to a whole 'nother level.
“Thingamabobs? I’ve got 20! But who cares, no big deal, I want moooooore... nail polish!” Bowser!!!!!!! I just got done playing a puzzle Mario Maker course :) sigh I’m a huge dork but I love it 😻
I love that little polish carousel you have. It's much more fun to look at all the pretty polishes like that instead of sitting in a dark drawer like mine are stored. You've got a wonderful collection of polish. It would be fun to come over to your house to paint nails!
Great video Kelli! I love seeing tours of peoples polishes and how they store them! Oh my gosh your cotton ball drawer is so cute!! It is like diving into a fluffy cloud :)
Thank you so much for the video! I really love those drawers. Michael's frequently has them on sale, so maybe I'll give them a try. I LOVED the Zoya and Cirque Colors drawers because of how nicely the polish fits and L.A. Colors and Color Club drawers because of how colorful they are! I literally JUST ordered the Kiara Sky "Graffiti" a day ago. I've never used the brand, but they were on sale for $3. Thanks again and stay well! 💜
Yes, I believe the drawers are on sale right now! And they always have great coupons to buy them with too haha. I don't think I've ever purchased one at full price lol!
This is awesome, Kelli! Question - did Sinful Colors rebrand? The one bottle you held up looked different. I also love that I’m not the only one who still rocks the tattoo necklace/choker! 😍
They have some special bottles for certain collections (like their matte finishes or their recent spring collection!) But usually they're the same :) and yesss I love the tattoo necklace choker hahaha
One day I will own That many or more. I have super long Natural nails 3 to 4 coats and I do my nails every Sunday so I go through polish fast but I do have a decent collection going, can't wait to get more. Love your videos!
You said that you put half empty bottles of base and top coats together ages ago and I then started doing it too. I would have never thought about that myself but it's such a great idea. I have a hard time actually getting enough polish on the brush once my bottles are half or two thirds empty and even though I use really inexpensive stuff it's nice to be able to use more of the product and save money.
Ahhh so jelly of your collection! It's better than polishes at stores because of the inclusion of indie brands! It's organized so nicely, my polishes are a hot mess haha! Btw love the way you introduced the number of polishes 😂
This video and your last one were so satisfying! lol! I think my favorite drawer is the Picture Polishes drawer. Looks so clean, neat, and symmetrical! LOL
I have the same drawers! I have 4 sets of 3 - so 12 drawers total. I bought them one at a time when Michael's has a 40% off coupon. It was cheap and they work very well for me! I love your cotton balls drawer, I might do that too! Right now, I am using a mason jar.. Thanks for the video you have a beautiful collection!
I love your collection. You keep me inspired. I am going to keep learning how to polish my nails. I just got a gel lamp but I have to get some gel polish lol. I love that you us a lot of different brands even drugstore polishes.
Thanks for sharing! Just an idea I have found useful during moving drawers. You can take a marker and number the inside of the drawer and then number the correlating drawer slot with the same number. So as you add more units the numbers would just continue to go up. Appreciate all your videos!
Love it 😍 - I have adored your nail polish tower for years!!! The majority of my nail polish collection is in a storage shed; trapped under soooooooo much stuff 😩 right now I live some where that doesn’t have enough space for them to be with me but it’s nice being able to take a peek at your collection and dream of my own
I used to keep my whole collection in a big tub under my bed (with all my clothes and storage over them lol) so I totally know the struggle! I hope you can get those pretties out on display someday soon!
@Carys Ann, essie isn’t all that expensive for a salon brand. Most salon and indie brands cost about 7-15 dollars per bottle. (Essie is around 10) if you are looking for cheaper polish, such as drugstore polish, try Sally Hansen (around 4-5 dollars) or LA colors (2-3) Sinful Colors (2-3) But I'd say that the majority of her collection would cost around or above the price of 7-15 dollars (individually)
From my understanding, the reason initially was the super thin brushes and the formula. But Kelli has actually started using Essie again since they have revamped both!
I haven't watched any of your videos before but this made me so happy! If you painted your nails 5 times a day with a different color every single time for a year straight, you'd still have a ton left over. How fun is that? Can't wait to watch some of your tutorials and color reviews!
Love this video! I love seeing how other people store their polishes. I also store mine by brand and I’m rainbow order. But I keep collections separate from that, of that makes sense. I don’t like integrating them into to rainbow of the brand. They’re “special” lol.
I personally love your cotton ball drawer and copied it. I have a desk (and only about 150 polishes) where I do my nails. I love reaching over and pulling stuff from my drawers before I get started. First thing I go for is a handful of cotton rounds; top drawer to the left! My granddaughters love it too. It's the little things...ha!
Omg, using two top coat bottles until they’re halfway and then mixing them together to get a new full one is freaking brilliant, can’t believe I never thought of it! I hate when I have to tilt the bottle to get the brush fully submerged in top coat.
Yes i pour it into a bottle! Probably self explanatory lol but I do have a video on it in case you're curious about the process (in my latex playlist!) :)
@@KelliMarissa except now they're all over my dining room table in orderly lines ... My dad and I are building a shelf for them but it's not done yet 🤪 Quarantine kind of ruined the construction schedule!
I watched your video whilst painting my nails and looking over my basket of polishes. I only have 40 or so polishes, so they still fit in my 'polish basket' which I keep in my bathroom cabinet. But if I keep buying polishes at the alarming rate that I've been doing lately (staying and home, too much tme to browse and do online shopping...) I might need to switch to drawers like you! I'm gonna steal your rainbow organising idea, I think it's sooo cool and looks great! My favourite drawer was the one with picture polish in it - it just looked so neat :)
Good ending. Love the storage idea. I would do the same if I had that many. I currently have a 3 drawer plastic storage container on wheels. 1 drawer nail polish another for tools, plates, tapes, cotton balls, sponges and so on then the last would be lamp, dryer, and electric file.
Kelly I have a tip for you, store your stamping polishes upside down so you can see the colors. I also have a few of those by maniology and I couldn’t see the colors which was really inconvenient! Ever since I put them upside down I was able to see what I had without having to take them out of the drawers
Have been waiting for this video... Love the tower..... So many nail polishes and I'm guessing very few might be dupes.. that's just amazing... Can you do a magnetic nail polish nail art video ..?
Spray Plasti-Dip in white to line drawers to prevent sliding! I used it in my helmers and it works amazing. It will never bunch up or peel like roll-out or stick on stuff. I did two thin-medium coats on mine with about 4-5 hours between coats, then let it cure for 24 hours so the bottles wouldn't stick.
I have about 40 OPI.. My go to for YEARS! Just started indulging in ILNP after watching Kelli swatching them... I may have to give my daughter my OPIs..fell hard in love with ILNP...
So I just became obsessed with nail polish. I had a few essie. Maybe 20-30. I now have over 300 bottles. Since watching your videos and someone else's. I have 268 bottles of essie original, 51 gel couture, 18 expressie. 6 olive and june. 6 frome a brand called besame. 3 OPI. And 10 top/base, etc. I keep them in plastic storage containers from a company called Sterilite. They are 14x11ins and 3 1/3in high. Each holds 80 bottles. Right now I have them in alphabetical order. But I'm going to put them in color family groups. From lightest to darkest in each color. I also have it all written down so I see what I have at a glance. The boxes stack neatly and are on a shelf in my bedroom.
WOAH that's crazy. I feel like there are so many polishes and so many of them look similar. seems super unnecessary to me, but of course, this is your job and you love nail polish! great video, im personally a fan of the cotton ball drawer!
I actually did a smaller version of the lazy susuan turntable using: 1. $2.50 lazy susan hardware 2. 2 SQUARE GLASS POT rest $2.00 3. 2 office cups $2.00 4. 1 wood thing divided $1.00 It holds quite a bit of nail polish and can add more layers, it spins and cost less than $10 and fits all size/shape polishes Spray paint whatever color u like so it looks cohesive
Kelli, you should do a craft video. Like make a journal with the most important moments in your life. Or like a nail polish book with all of your swatches.
If you don't want to line all the drawers right now, you can use silicone drawer lining material (you can get it at a hardware store) and just roll it up and tuck it in the back of the drawer to take up the extra space.
What a fun tour! I was impressed with your amazing collection. I was ready to reach in and try some on. Lol. I’m interested to know how frequently you change your polish? Also, regarding your squeaky drawer; if the drawer sides are wood and rubbing against wood rails as it goes in/out (wood rubbing on wood) you can use a bar of soap or a wax candle (not lit) to rub/coat on the drawer and rails. This creates a slippery surface that will help slide the drawer and reduce the friction that is making the noise. I hope it helps. Thanks for all the awesome swatches. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next!
When you put the drawers together, do you use wood glue? If not, I recommend that. Most of my furniture is mdf and adding wood glue to where wood touches wood and or where you screw things in makes they much sturdier and they last longer
Wow Kelli I'm impressed ! I have a nail polish rack of my own that my husband made for me. I notice if the nail polish sits too long it separates so I give them a shake every now and then. What is the shelf life for polish if any?
Honestly they can last a really long time if stored properly and sealed tightly! If they get thick you can always add nail polish thinner. I've got polishes that are several years old and I know my mom and grandma have polishes that are decades old!
I love seeing other people's collections! I currently have ~285, but that number is going up quickly because I spent my stimulus money, and the money I'm not spending on gas for my commute, on nail polish. I just bought a bunch of acrylic nail polish shelves that I plan on hanging this weekend to go on the wall behind the door in my bedroom. I like to see everything out in front of me, so drawers would drive me nuts. I also keep a spreadsheet of all my polishes because I'm an excel nerd, and I have everything organized on swatch sticks as well. I'm not interested in acquiring dupes, so having the swatch sticks handy is nice when I'm looking at live swatch videos and making my shopping list.
@@KelliMarissa What I like about Different Dimension is that it has a nice and smooth application. I usually apply 2 coats plus a top coat. I also like the consistency of the formula and of course the beautiful colors. They're also vegan and cruelty free. For the most part my mani lasts about 6-8 days. It would be nice if the company gave you freebies so you can do a video on these.
I was going to ask you how you keep track of what you have, and then you mentioned Snupps. Maybe you could do a small tutorial on how to use Snupps or a comparison of (free) ways to catalogue our polishes. Thanks Kelli! Love your collection!! Take care!
Hi Kelli. I actually just got around to watching this video and it was so amazing and helpful. I have a quick question. What is the name of the collections of the OPI regular and the OPI infinite shine on the top tier of your tower? Both sets look like a soft pretty metallic and frost.
So many nail polishes!! With quarantine I’ve been getting back into doing my own nails again so I’ve been buying indie brands. Can you do a makeup collection? I’d love to see what you have for makeup. I get overwhelmed with my collection, I have around 140.
Yes definitely on the makeup collection! Right now I'm still trying to organize and declutter it haha but I did organize my eyeshadow palettes so far and recently posted a video of those! :P And yes I definitely get overwhelmed with my nail polish collection too LOL
Love it! Question. What makes you decide what to keep and what to get rid of? I've seen several swatch videos but didn't see the polishes in your collection. For example, you swatched Graftobian some time ago and I didn't see them here.
Usually if I find that I havent touched a polish in a while, it gets destashed, or if I don't love the brand or colors (or if the brand goes out of business - I always want people to be able to buy what I'm using!) In that case, I enjoyed trying those polishes but I made a couple attempts to use them in nail art and they were just not working for me. I ended up giving them to my mom!
2000 polishes in the guest room, sounds like anybody would be lucky to be a guest there. (If it were me, you would come into the room in the morning and I would be on the floor in the middle of 2000 polishes, heaven.)
Stay tuned to the end of the video to see the exact number of polishes I have 😳
Kelli Marissa the last time I counted my polish, I had over 2400. Can’t remember exact number. That was a couple of years ago. I am an addict lol
I wish you had Kathleen Light’s Lights Lacquer brand :/
Love lights lacquer. Can’t wait for her to come out with more.
I have around 800 nail polishes and counting. It makes me happy and I just love nail polish 😍

-And any reason you choose to display your OPIs on the revolving tower versus any of the other brands you own?
It would be nice if all polish manufacturers had a sticker on top of the bottles showing the color inside the bottles. Great collection & organization.
That's the sole reason I don't put them in drawers.
Use a nail dotting tool to place the color nicely in the top, then you can protect them from light exposure 👍
I just painted polish swatches onto masking tape and then cut out squares and stuck them to the top of each bottle. It helps, especially for gels - just make sure to do a base coat or the gel won’t stick to the masking tape.
These are all great ideas!!
I buy the dots from Ali express. I love painting those little dots and sticking them on top.

@@annac8112 I just cleared out my polishes and got rid of all my essie's and OPI's. I've gone cruelty free and vegan.

It would be so fun to see an updated collection video! I'm guessing your collection has grown =)
oh yes definitely doing an updated collection vid sooon! But first, another organizing video 😁😁😁
@@KelliMarissa Can't wait!
Good ending. Love the storage idea. I would do the same if I had that many. I currently have a 3 drawer plastic storage container on wheels. 1 drawer nail polish another for tools, plates, tapes, cotton balls, sponges and so on then the last would be lamp, dryer, and electric file.
I think that sounds like the perfect storage solution!
Kelly I have a tip for you, store your stamping polishes upside down so you can see the colors. I also have a few of those by maniology and I couldn’t see the colors which was really inconvenient! Ever since I put them upside down I was able to see what I had without having to take them out of the drawers
I love this idea!! Thanks for sharing it 😄 maybe it'll inspire me to do more stamping if I can see the colors haha
Have been waiting for this video... Love the tower..... So many nail polishes and I'm guessing very few might be dupes.. that's just amazing...
Can you do a magnetic nail polish nail art video ..?
Ooh yes thats a fun nail art idea!
When you want to use a specific coral, say a peachy coral, do you look at all your peachy corals for each brand or how do you pick?
Spray Plasti-Dip in white to line drawers to prevent sliding! I used it in my helmers and it works amazing. It will never bunch up or peel like roll-out or stick on stuff. I did two thin-medium coats on mine with about 4-5 hours between coats, then let it cure for 24 hours so the bottles wouldn't stick.
Ooh thanks for the tip!
I have about 40 OPI.. My go to for YEARS! Just started indulging in ILNP after watching Kelli swatching them... I may have to give my daughter my OPIs..fell hard in love with ILNP...
Haha wow that's a big and amazing collection of OPI! They're my go to as well, great basic colors and amazing brush.
This video is so satisfying to watch
Haha happy to hear it 😄
Drooling over the Cirque Colors polishes 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Hehe :)
Kelli Marissa crazy idea 💡 I would love to see your Cirque Colors collection swatched ?
I actually did a smaller version of the lazy susuan turntable using:
1. $2.50 lazy susan hardware
2. 2 SQUARE GLASS POT rest $2.00
3. 2 office cups $2.00
4. 1 wood thing divided $1.00
It holds quite a bit of nail polish and can add more layers, it spins and cost less than $10 and fits all size/shape polishes
Spray paint whatever color u like so it looks cohesive
Kelli, you should do a craft video. Like make a journal with the most important moments in your life. Or like a nail polish book with all of your swatches.
Oh that would be so fun!!!!
If you don't want to line all the drawers right now, you can use silicone drawer lining material (you can get it at a hardware store) and just roll it up and tuck it in the back of the drawer to take up the extra space.
Ooh great idea!!
I just downloaded Snupps now. Thank you for the great suggestion! This will help me organize my own nail polish collection. ❤️❤️
Hope you find it helpful!
Did you see that Christine organized hers too and mentioned you and linked this video. You inspired Simply.
Yes, I saw! :)
Ooh I'm gonna try it!! Soap is too valuable these days LOL but I've got lots of candles!
When you put the drawers together, do you use wood glue? If not, I recommend that. Most of my furniture is mdf and adding wood glue to where wood touches wood and or where you screw things in makes they much sturdier and they last longer
I haven't, but thanks for the recommendation!
Even with wood glue, my Michael's drawers came apart
:( Broke down and got helmers a few months ago...and need to get more now
Kelli Marissa my fav wood glue is the one from gorilla glue
I highly recommend that method!
@@KelliMarissa
Wow thanks 😊
Technically, it's "2 years" but sealed, out of sunlight and some nail polish thinner, they will last,
I love seeing other people's collections!
That's a really smart way to keep track of your collection! I'm guilty of accidentally buying dupes forgetting I own them haha!
This is the nail polish nerds favourite kind of video! 🤤😍😄 Thank you so much for this! Stay safe and take care Kelli 💗
Hahaha honestly I just love seeing peoples collections of anything, but nail polish is especially satisfying :P
Yasss 💕😊😁 please do a stamping video! 💜
Coming soon! :) :)
That is a whole lotta polish!! 👍🏼👏🏼Love you videos girl!!
Haha yes quite a collection, thank you!!
Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. Have you ever tried Different Dimension polishes? It's the current one I love.
I haven't tried them but I've heard of them before! How is the quality?
@@KelliMarissa What I like about Different Dimension is that it has a nice and smooth application. I usually apply 2 coats plus a top coat. I also like the consistency of the formula and of course the beautiful colors. They're also vegan and cruelty free. For the most part my mani lasts about 6-8 days. It would be nice if the company gave you freebies so you can do a video on these.
I want that nail polish paradise! 😄 Beautiful collection 💅🏻😍
Thank you Laura!!!
Before I even watch this whole video I already have to say I love love LOVE your Bowser shirt!
I was going to ask you how you keep track of what you have, and then you mentioned Snupps. Maybe you could do a small tutorial on how to use Snupps or a comparison of (free) ways to catalogue our polishes. Thanks Kelli! Love your collection!! Take care!
Hey Chris! I do have a tutorial on how I used to use snupps at the end of my nail polish tour from 2017!
@@KelliMarissa I will definitely check it out. Thanks!!
WOW!! Impressive collection!! How on earth do you choose a color to wear??? thanks for sharing xo
Haha its a struggle to decide!
Kelli what do you do when you have an empty bottle of polish. Do you keep the bottle or?
Generally I keep them so I can use them for experimenting with mixing new colors, but if it's an old or crusty bottle I just toss it haha!
What app did you use to count your nail polishes? Was it snupps?? (Coz I tried snupps and it looked like pinterest.)
this is the BEST video EVER
Haha so happy you had fun watching it~!
Your Collection Is Insane Kelli!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha I knooooow it's a lot!
I love your claddagh ring-I have one just like it (mine is my wedding ring). I'm in awe of your collection!
Ahh thank you Nikki :) It was a gift from my BF and I love wearing it :)
Love it!
Hahahaha! Yeah, I think it's a fun time when friends come to visit!
Using the sample tips as you have them organized you could make a video about your system thanks for sharing.
I do have a video of me organizing them as well! It's linked in the cards!
Ooo.. Could you tell us the name of that China Glaze shade you pulled out at 5:20?
I believe that was called Sin-derella!
Awesome, thank you!
Saw simply do a shout out to you that's really cool! 🥰 I love your channel. You really are an INSPIRATION lol i even re organized mine.
Oh thank you so much Kristin :)
