Thank y'all so much for enjoying our documentary May The Lord Watch. It was a labor of love telling our story. Please share and support the film at littlebrothernc.com. Peace!
i am the lord and no i will not partake in hearing another story! told to me within this world created of lies! by a lying backstabbing murderer! you are doing everything except give me back what you have stolen from me LITTLE BROTHER from a worthless mother. dam apples do not fall far from it's tree! give me back my memories and my keys or you being a little anything will cease to be!
Everything makes sense now. Moral of the story is, that just because you're in a group together, doesn't mean you know each other or are actually real friends. These guys had a chance meeting in college, formed a group on the fly, and had success, but never got a chance to really know each other. I'm glad Pooh and Phonte got a chance to reconnect and actually become real friends before this last album. With age and experience comes wisdom.
Proud to have even been at the same school with these guys. Phonte gave me a ride from the mall one day back to the campus. He said, this is our new album as we rode in the Honda. It hadn't even been released yet. He asked what did I think? I said it's dope! But no offense, you guys sound like A Tribe Called Quest... he said no offense taken, that's actually a compliment! We consider ourselves to be the " little brother " to groups like A Tribe Called Quest, and De La Soul etc. That type of vibe. I was like WOW! Little did I know that I was beholding a timeless classic in raw form! Proud of Y'all accomplishments. God bless. - Buzy Bland
Woow thanks 444 sharing this amazing origin story of sorts that is so awesome esp the part where he said offense taken bc he looked at them as little brothers of those groups that came over 10 years before them :))
This documentary inspired me to really start taking my music seriously now. I tricked myself into thinking that I was too old now but I'm gonna push again... for the love
When the Minstrel Show dropped I told everyone I knew about Little Brother. Everyone was on that G Unit which was cool but I was like “Man this is something different”. I’m forever a fan and have every group and solo album. Don’t Fugee us man please keep the albums coming.

You all are going to love the documentary. TRUST ME. A lot of questions where answered. If your a hard little brother supporter like I am, you are going to be satisfied in knowing the little brother story
Met big pooh in bmore at a show one of the coolest dudes I've met and yall gave a hell of a show may the lord watch is the resurrection of Little brother and true hip hop
9th Wonder beats are what first made me want to actually rap. I dropped an EP a decade ago and sunk back into self doubt, depression, hopelessness and fear. Watching this joint here, it's making me want to raise DARK PRINCE from the dead once again.
Big props to Phonte for being open about his experiences as a child. Men who face such experiences are encouraged by our society to stay quiet, and it's really valuable to have public voices courageous enough to speak about what happened to them and how it affected them throughout life. 🙏
Man, I will never ever forget 2001-2002 i was a senior @ Broughton High in Raleigh, I get home from school turn the TV on and I see " you hear first" on MTV and Kurt loader was talking about 9th, phonte and Pooh. I couldn't wait to get to school to tell my ppls about Little Brother. It was a big deal to me because they were here...like HERE HERE! As God is my witness, a few months later I walk down the street to Laural Hills park to play ball and their they were playing on the court! I balled out and the thing that stood out the most was 1). 9th can real hoop..D1 type talent. 2) he kept saying " he and 1 yal gotta pick him up early" 3). 9th had on some Flightposite III PE. 🔥🔥🔥💯 As a 17 old kids these dudes embodied everything that made me who I was and how I saw and listened to music still to this day!! The Listened is still my favorite work of art! I appreciate these dudes more than they even know.💯💪🏿💙🔥 #LBbusiness #roylee
Man! Y'all was wondering how we beating Millbrook tonight bc Raleigh Enloe beat us last game. Lol!😂 Just playing bro! Broughton had them ballers. Salute my man! Pistol Pete, Devonte Graham, Shavlik Randolph!🔥 NC H.S. Broughton Legends!!
It's a trip, being a fan documentaries ,and thinking, "man, that must've been one hell of ride living in that era". I can finally say I was apart of "that era". So many memories and moments with LBs music as my soundtrack. Thank you for being our voice. LB BIZNESS!
I’m glad Little Brother represented NC in a time before J.Cole, DaBaby, Rapsody, Lute. I heard Lovin It when I was in middle school and I’ve been a fan since. Went to the Little Brother Block Party and it just felt amazing to be in that moment.
@@Vandalio_Saez I’m a 90s kid, but I definitely lean closer to old school raps, conscious rap, and grown man raps. I like some of the new stuff, but I favor the 90s-2010s.
I was a producer emcee while in college. I want to say that in my later 20s when y’all music came out, it was a breath of fresh air. I was getting my masters at the time. Your albums were amazing and like a rite of passage. Being from South Carolina and living in Maryland, I have always paid attention to the North Carolina, VA, DC, Philly connection in music and have always admired the influence.
A mutual friend of a friend was like, you love Slum Village so much, my friend’s friends have a rap group you might like. So a year before The Listening came out, connecting on some six degrees of separation ish, I met Phonte in front of his apartment. He played the entire album for me in his car. Broke my neck bobbing my head to song after song! I begged him for a copy, forreal just as my own gem. He wouldn’t bc he knew what they had! Thankfully the album came out a year later, I got to hear it again and again and again Xs a million! And they should’ve got 5 mics in The Source.
One of the most heartfelt, real, human, creative documentary I've seen in a long time. The filming of it is solid, the perspectives, especially for those of us who've been on this musical journey, is truly relatable. Inspiring and motivational to tell our stories. Truthful, honest, and real. How LB has always been. Salute them dudes.
RESPECT TO LB and Justus League. Your Music Help me get through depression losing many jobs losing My Father in 2011 losing My Mother 2021 I was listening to LB Now 2023 Still Listening LB Thanks for Music For Inspiration MU In South Carolina
LB was the sound of my college years. I was a white kid growing up in ATL in the 90s, Dungeon Fam changed my life, I got to see both 'Kast & Goodie live in the late 90s. The summer before college I went to both the Spitkicker & Okayplayer tour shows and that shit was amazing. I caught The Listening early on and from then on it was my job to put on everyone I met to LB. I finally got a chance to see them live at A3C in '08. I love seeing how much success these guys have had and appreciate them so much for their impact on my life 🙏
I'm shocked to learn that Minstrel Show was poorly received -- It remains one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time. I gorged on it during blizzards in northern Canada. You never know who's listening and who'll be moved by your work.
The Minstrel Show release was what finally convinced me that BET had completely lost its way. Instead of being a place to showcase all aspects and levels of Black artistry, it was purely about chasing the quick and easy check. I know at that point they were owned by Viacom and would never be what it was when they started. However, I thought that they still could have tried harder to make space for a wider array of artistry.
I wasnt suprised where rap was at & has only declined more. Kanye, Lupe & LB were our underground leaders. Made us feel it can b done.NC we only had Petey Pablo but that wasnt my vibe
Y’all deserve the world, take it. You’ve already created the TIMELESS art. The internet can catapult it into the universe. Stay together, be your brothers keeper. I’ll now refer to you both as BIG brother. 🔥😎❤️🙏🏽💪🏽
Little Brother was an intense movement in hip hop that will never be duplicated. The Minstrel Show was beyond perfection. If y’all not familiar w/ that Pharrell gangsta grillz, do yourself a favor and get familiar. Also that boy Median was COLD. Don’t get me started on the legacy of The Foreign Exchange. BIG salute to Phonte, Pooh & 9th for their offerings to the game. Y’all mean so much to this nga from the R. This is a beautiful story that had to be told exactly this way.🏴🏴
I got to see LB on my birthday weekend… three days before The Corona lockdown. When they broke up, I was so disappointed in thinking I’d never get to see one of my favorite groups live. I’m so fortunate to get to say I got to see them. Also, mad props to Phonte for sharing his SA story. It’s so hard for men to open up about these things. This just makes me admire him even more. Bravo. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
This was so good! I’m so very proud of and happy for Te and Pooh. I was screaming my heart out at their block party back in September and I’ve been a proud loyal fan since 2003!!!!! You brothers deserve all of your flowers! 💐🫡 💕💕🙌🏽
Wow. I am so happy to see this. I'm from the tre 4, and I grew up with LB all throughout my high school and college years. They are my favorite artist til this day. It always made me so sad to see what happened to their music compared to other artists. I stopped listening to rap as I grew and matured but i will never stop listening to LB. 9th's talent is undeniable but I always sensed an arrogance about him that I just never liked. I met him at a basketball court in winston when he was shooting a video with ricky ruckus. LB's music always inspired me to do better in life. Be different and to keep it real. Their music couldn't be more relevant today with all this nonsense of social media and the fake it to you make it lifestyle. I retired at the age of 31 and moved out of NC after graduating from ECU. Even now, living in florida, I still bump my guys from the 919, 910 and the 336. -MrBucketlist
This was incredible and very inspiring. Glad to see Little Brother's story being told, so much underground hip-hop from that era hasn't been documented in detail. We need more of this.
@@NeoAndersonChannel1 Damn right. That was honestly one of the illest cycles of hip-hop ever and I wish it had got as much love stateside as it did overseas. There are a lot of dope stories from that run for sure though.
@@nervousallday You already know! To me, that era was the rebirth of Boom-Bap. On top of a Dilla documentary, there can/should be a Doc just on *Donuts* and how that redefined sampling and what Hip-Hop beats can even become. Apollo Brown has done an exceptional job being this generations DJ Premier and producing for a wide variety of artists/sounds. Mello Music Group, to me, is def Top 5 music labels around right now.
Accountability! GROWTH!! Man! 🥲 the ending on this put tears in my eyes. Thank YOU LB! Love y’all man! Y’all have done so much for me, and seeing your journey was the experience I felt like I’ve grow with throughout the years. This put it all in perspective. GROWTH. Truly from boys to MEN. 🙏🏿
This is so nostalgic that it brings so much joy to my heart. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to meet Little Brother. I was one of the singers on Big Pooh album, the song called Jungle. Such dope artists.
Man.... this hit all the feels for me. The realness of relationships, life, business, etc. This is real life. I rock with y'all heavy. Y'all changed my life in middle school/high school. I thank y'all for your honesty, rawness, and willingness to stumble through life. LB Forever.
Man this was such a dope beautiful doc...i wish 9th was able to be a part of it but it is what it is... still respect the work and I'm glad I was able to see them live at Art Basel 2019 in Miami just before Covid hit... it was such a dope show
I'm a bay area west coaster and a LB fan for over 20 years. I can honestly say Little Brother will live on forever. This group stuck to the script You can listen to every album from beginning to end without skipping a track. Salute to greatness!!
*Little Brother, thank you for timeless music, and for being an inspiration!* 😊🙏🏾💎✨ I'm from Alabama originally, I didn't know about LB until I moved to North Carolina around 2008. That's when my cousins put me on to their music via *Limewire* 😅 I instantly fell in Love with their songs, as it was unlike *ANYTHING* I've ever heard! Only problem was, *they were already broken up..* 😔 But I continued to bump their music consistently over the years and watch any kind of videos I could find of them on UA-cam. *Then one day,* there's a surprise announcement that Little Brother was coming back together for a *NEW ALBUM!!!* 😱 So they release a new *(AMAZING)* album, throws a block party in Durham, then drops a documentary...?? 😮 *Such an awesome time to be an LB fan* 😎🤙🏾 Thank y'all for genuinely sharing your story, it's real, raw, and also inspiring! ✊🏾💎✨ RIP Percy Miracles 🙏🏾 *Salute to one of the best hip hop groups of all time!* ✨ #LBbizness 💙✌🏾 🎨⛅ *Paint The Sky,Blew!!!* 🎨⛅
This documentary was great an inspiring. I'm glad Phonte and Pooh were able to work on their issues, become brothers again and give us quality music. LB music has been the soundtrack to my life!
Love this documentary. LB was ahead of the curve and I felt had The Listening and The Minstrel Show been released when social media was bigger then they would have had bigger success. Always put NC on their backs.
So blessed that my boy from Connecticut put me on to them just listen to them about a week ago and I’m in a daze with The Listening and The Minstrel Show. Definitely the epitome of hip hop especially underground but they getting they dues in this!!🙌🏾🙌🏾 love them
I've been an LB fan since 2002. I saw them in New Orleans at HOB a week to the day before Katrina hit. I saw them again in ATL back in Nov 2019. I'm super amped to see this! #LBbizness
Great documentary!! I waited years to learn the story of my favorite group. LB’s music was the soundtrack of my life in college and after. I met them after their show in Dallas in 2019 and it was the best show I have ever seen. No props, no gimmicks, just two dope mcs having a good time with their fans and putting on a memorable show. Everyone I interacted with were humble, chill, and very down to earth (shoutout to LB, Chaundon, BeMyFiasco, and the whole crew). I waited until the show was over and to meet them and ended up with a pic and even chopped it up with them for a sec. Side note: my wife and I connected years after college when we had a conversation about I post I made on IG about Little Brother. We were both surprised that each of us knew about and were fans of LB and their music. We connected from there and have been together ever since. When I met Te and Pooh after the concert, I had her phone (with the floral case smh) because my phone died and she had fallen asleep in the car 😂😂. We drove six hours to see them perform in Dallas. It was a moment I will always remember and tell my kids about. #lbbidness
This was a good documentary. Even though I saw it at the prescreening, it felt like it was my first time seeing it. When Phonte said “People still F with us after all this time” I said yeah man we do. I play ya music as if it came out yesterday. I play all Little Brother, Phonte and Big Pooh albums individually, I play Legacy’s album, Medians (You need to put The Sender album back on streaming );), Edgar Allen Flows album, as if it was yesterday. I really do enjoy the type of music LB and the Justus League has made. That’s the type of music I was interested in growing up, and LB and there people like Yahzarah hearing her on Sincere smooth, hearing her on The beginning, crazy. I even recall seeing her in a Erykah Badu video, can’t recall what video. Muhsinah on Something to behold, I find my self driving, singing her ending part of the song. Darien Brockington, he has song on some many LB records, I recall listening to his album and my favorite song was Think It over. I heard his vocals on Right On Time, I knew it was him. Like yo I can go on for days, but again, LB great documentary and I will always be a supporter of LB and The Justus League and all other artist adjacent to the group. LB BIZ
Median!!! I stumbled onto him as a kid at 13 when I found "Visionary" on Napster. Very much a talented emcee. This whole era of Justus League emcees is like one of hip hops greatest secret. I don't think these guys will ever truly understand how man kids grew with their brand of lyricism. I could cry thinking of how man songs came from these guys yet not enough ppl have heard their offerings. They'll always hold a very big place in my heart
Deep and touching I even shed a couple tears.Thank you LB FOR EVERYTHING and getting me through some tough times in my life...MUCH LOVE LB FOR LIFE!!!!!
Saw this in person at the Carolina Theater in my hometown live. God is Good that these brothers have the honor to tell their story. This story is a one of triumph and overcoming. I love the progression and transparency. Enjoy this joint and give to support
Thanks for posting and creating this LB. I wish 9th was involved to speak his piece. The Minstrel Show was my introduction to LB and then I checked out The Listening and on to Foreign Exchange, Justus League and more. STILL rocking that today. STR8 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.
Can’t wait for this to hit streaming. I saw this in the theater, and if you’re a long time LB fan or a new one you’re going to love it! It covers everything you can think of. Very touching film. Proud of these guys!
One of, if not the most poignant documentaries of this year. A collage blending coming-of-age with goal-achieving endeavors, heartbreak, friendship, endship, uncertainty, reconnecting, and ultimately finding solace. The 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop deserves this doc.
In 2003 my coworker gifted me The Listening and told me I HAD to listen to this. That moment changed my life. I have been rolling with yall since then. I will forever support you brothers and see you live every time you come to Philly. Hip Hop at its finest. Peace and Love.
I can NOT tell you how incredible watching this was. It reminded me of how vital the role of friendships in and around music can be to a person's life. I'm firing up all my gear today...and I'm just gonna create until the well runs dry. Thank you for the inspiration.
I hate to say it, but I didn't know about you guys until NBA 2K. With that being said, I was a fan from the day I heard Carolina Agents. I immediately when to J&R Music World and bought the Minstrel Show. In the afternoon when I was heading home, I bought The Listening. Then next day I downloaded 4 mixtapes, have not stopped listening to you all ever since. You two have been an inspiration to me. Phonte alone has contributed to many moments of clarity as I've listened to him rhyme and drop some grown-man-knowledge type metaphors. Same for Pooh, I feel like it takes me while to catch up to him and then realize what he said was way harder than Phonte. I understand now why the group went through the phases it has and has really made me appreciate you both even more. I've earn a new level of appreciation for 9th as well. I commiserate with the struggle to stay in touch and find a connection with you both. Sometimes acceptance doesn't come easy and when it does...sometimes it's too late. Hope, all that gets resolved in time to see all 3 of your at peace. While I miss his addition to the group, there's only peace, love and adulation in my heart for him. Keep striving and creating what you guys want and have to create. It's just awesome to be able to relate to guys as people and adulate you as artist. Over joyed and excited for what the future brings to both of you and for the rest of us that enjoy your work. Cannot say thank you enough to LB.❤❤❤
This was so wholesome i had the biggest smile on my face throughout the whole documentary. The story of little brother is a life lesson, "no matter what you do in life, your gonna have to struggle to be great jus dont stop working, maturing, and growing." Little brother will always be my favorite group with or with out 9th, you have opened many doors for me musically, phonte and Pooh please keep up the great work. It would be nice if you guys could do a reworks album like how FE did a reworks album, it would be nice to see you guys elevate some classics. ✊🏾👊🏾
This documentary gave me the push to pursue this music stuff fully and whole heartedly. I have a unique sound and style complemented with my art I can’t lose!!!
Now this is a real BLACK Friday bargain!! Thank you brothers for laying out the soundtrack to adulthood. Been a big fan since seeing y'all rip it at a show in DC 20 years ago with the Justus League. Probably the same time y'all had some Yum's carry out for the first time. Thank you for the behind the scenes back drop into your experiences and personal space. LB Business FOREVER!
So good. Been a fan since a friend brought The Listening to my apartment in college. Ever since Phonte said, “My Black queen”…so happy to see the progression over the years
WOW! Just finished watching this! POWERFUL!!! Beautiful story and BIG PROPS to all involved. R.I.P. to Phonte's Grandmother And Big Pooh's Grandfather. I am definitely gonna have to watch this again and again and will help spread the word. LB Forever!💯💯💯💯💯
The crazy thing is I grew up on “Little Brother” they are the reason I got into production and audio engineering, made it my goal to work with them one day. Love it brothers. A1 Documentary. They are some real stand up guys I rock with them forever 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
First heard LB in 2009 when I moved to Cali. I was heavy on Nas, PAC, Jay, and every mainstream artist. LB literally changed my perspective of music and are 4ever apart of my life. I hope to see these guys on tour someday. Much love to Phonte Big Pooh 9th Justice League. 💪🏾❤🙏🏾
Great documentary! I have to thank my Ex for putting me onto Little Brother! I do hope that reconciliation can be made between them and 9th cause life is short, but if not, then it wasn’t meant to happen. Salute to them!
No lie this documentary brought tears to my eyes! Little brother is the best underground rap group ever!! Give these good brothers their flowers 💐 while they can smell them!! LB 4 life!!
Whatever You Say is my favorite song. Sucks that 9th Wonder and Little Brother couldn't work out their differences for a reboot. But the history can't be erased.
Hands down the best documentary I've ever watched. I'm from the Bahamas and I've been a fan since The Listening. A lot of your tracks back then helped me to zone out when life was coming at me quicker than the Fast n' Furious franchise. But great work gents and to the ladies that collaborated with you. I appreciate your music as a true hip-hop fan. Peace and love 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Genuinely Top 5 Documentaries I have ever seen. I fucking love this group. Their trials and tribulations were so unknown to me when I was bumping them at 14 years old back in 07. Shit so crazy. I'm so happy Te and Pooh were able to reconcile. Little Brother Top 5 Artists of all time I'm calling it. Te top 20 rapper of all time. 9th Top 5 producers of all time. This movement Justus League to then have 9th turn it to Jamla which LB was not included in. Just insane.
So fitting to be in the Justus League, because yall were and continue to be my heroes. I remember being in High School and listening to Light It Up. It was like hearing Angels sing to me thru hip hop. Yall showed me you could have more than just soul, yall had SPIRIT in your music. Thank you for always keeping God as a theme in your music no matter what the game looked like. Te your story about the sexual abuse has brought tears to my eyes bruh. I wrote a poem about my testimony, that is so DOPE but I only performed it once lol. I pray God will give me the opportunity to make it a song one day to heal someone else. Blessings kings!
Special thanks to Phonte and Pooh and all those associated with this video!! This is a poignant and important piece of art that is well received and appreciated!! WE LOVE Y'ALL!!
LB is the Tribe of our generation. Their music is the soundtrack for us college educated brothers that needed to hear our life experiences through the music. Speed (my all time favorite song ever) is the perfect example of this. Forever grateful!
I said it back then. Even though it was a great opportunity for 9th to work with Jay-Z. It also made his head extremely big. That collaboration was the beginning of the end of this group being a trio.
Yo!!! Loved it!!! From top to bottom bro. This is Pratt btw. Phonte I wish i knew you were doing this, because i had the perfect tie in story for your bar about leaving the football team and focusing on rapping. The story of you rapping to us beat boxin on the way home from an away game. That shit was crazy!
Legends in the game! Bridged the gap from the 90s boom bap to the blog era! Phonte one of the best to ever to a microphone and big Pooh always been 🔥 shoutout to 9th wonder 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
2004, I produced my first mixtape @ The Chop Shop Studios in Durham, NC, mixed by Chandon, I meet Big Pooh, and L.E.G.A.C.Y was there, Pooh drop they both off at the studio in the infamous Nissan, (still had a lease on - Phonte). Little Brother is classic.
This made me laugh, cry, and appreciate my own team called Philly 4 Horsemen Podcasts show. Phonte & PooH taught me how to appreciate my own brothers through good & bad hard times and not let things get in the middle of my friendship with them too. And also, to have faith and trust in God to go through challenges without fear being in my way.... I definitely appreciate this documentary yall🔥💯 This was definitely dope💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 Tuning in all the way from Philly‼️
It always baffled my mind how one part of a group would wanna do their own solo thing and be shocked when the other part of the group would rather end the group.... once anyone wants to do their own thing it's ultimately over
Thank you for giving us this inside look. I've been a LB fan since The Listening and I was one of the people that bumped "May the lord watch" ASAP, what an incredible body of work, incredible discography and legendary group. We appreciate you.
As a long time fan from 03 when i first heard "The Listening" and went on to consume anything justus league related, i want to thank you for providing the soundtrack to my life. There were songs i liked, and grew to love because i was living life and relating the lyrics. You guys make age appropriate rap/music and this documentary made even more of a fan, and i didnt think it was possible. When May the Lord Watch album came out, i was going through personal turmoil, but travelling overseas while listening to that album and the happiness i felt my favorite group had delivered in that fashion was so inspirational to me even professionally.THANK YOU!
Dope documentary! One of the most incredible verses I ever heard came off of Black Milk's record, "No WIsh". Phonte's verse literally brings me to tears as he delivers the most authentic, transparent, and vulnerable verse I ever heard on record. What a true testament to his greatness as a man, father and MC! Much respect for being open, honest, and true about the difficult things no one wants to talk about.
Thx. That was definitely a Tigallo feature that made it past me. Phonte is damn near unparalleled when it comes to lyrics, mentions, references, verses "about the difficult things no one wants to talk about" - or what nobody thought people were interested in hearing in a rap song.
Man... I'm a LONG TIME fan of Little Brother. This doc is heartfelt, deep, and a testament to navigating brotherhood and coming out of all of the trials and tribulations stronger than before. Superb work!!!! God bless and Long Live Little Brother!!!
Thank y'all so much for enjoying our documentary May The Lord Watch. It was a labor of love telling our story. Please share and support the film at littlebrothernc.com. Peace!

Love yall
9th Wonder beats are what first made me want to actually rap. I dropped an EP a decade ago and sunk back into self doubt, depression, hopelessness and fear. Watching this joint here, it's making me want to raise DARK PRINCE from the dead once again.
Get after it man, only one stopping us is ourselves
Man, if you don’t quit playing and get back to writing them 16’s! 😠 Life is too short!
A MASTERPIECE!
Man, I don’t ask for much
To chill at home and drink out of my plastic cups
Absolutely was.... Phenomenal Job from all involved.
Let me say it again a Masterpiece
As a 17 old kids these dudes embodied everything that made me who I was and how I saw and listened to music still to this day!! The Listened is still my favorite work of art! I appreciate these dudes more than they even know.💯💪🏿💙🔥

Brought a tear to my eye man. Used to hoop at Laurel Hill all the time with 9th that was our spot back then. @neef1131
Yagfu front baby!!!! They repped N.C first I love L.B tho 😅
@@Vandalio_Saez I never heard of Yaggfu Front until now. Before I knew about Little Brother and Petey Pablo, I heard K-Ci and Jojo repped NC.
They came out in like 92'-93' dope underground hip hop
@@Vandalio_Saez I definitely wasn’t around during that time. I was either in the nuts, womb, or in a crib.
@@Vandalio_Saez I’m a 90s kid, but I definitely lean closer to old school raps, conscious rap, and grown man raps. I like some of the new stuff, but I favor the 90s-2010s.
Having the doc end at a Cook Out is the most North Carolina shit ever. Love y'all, LB
It's a shame 9th once again didn't tell his side. MURS was the 1 that announced he was asked 2 leave at Cats Cradle, it's like dude tell your side
Some of Carolinas OGs finally getting a doc 🙏
RESPECT TO LB and Justus League. Your Music Help me get through depression losing many jobs losing My Father in 2011 losing My Mother 2021 I was listening to LB Now 2023 Still Listening LB Thanks for Music For Inspiration MU In South Carolina

Incredible!
Made it cool 2 b the average joe
TO THIS DAY 💯💯
The Minstrel Show release was what finally convinced me that BET had completely lost its way. Instead of being a place to showcase all aspects and levels of Black artistry, it was purely about chasing the quick and easy check. I know at that point they were owned by Viacom and would never be what it was when they started. However, I thought that they still could have tried harder to make space for a wider array of artistry.
It really really baffles me,am like what, minstrel show,is actually my favorite from LB . Underrated classic
It's crazy because the Minstrel Show is a straight up CLASSIC!!!!
This is a beautiful story that had to be told exactly this way.🏴🏴
Yooooo, Pooh is definitely a spitting image of his moms, dude got her whole face
IKR, def his twin
Her whole face!
I was there too. The vibes was immaculate.
Would have liked to hear about how Big Pooh project Sleepers came about. Fire doc
I'm from NYC and I'm seeing a lot of southern hospitality in the comments. Shout out to all my people from VA and the Carolinas.
This was incredible and very inspiring. Glad to see Little Brother's story being told, so much underground hip-hop from that era hasn't been documented in detail. We need more of this.
True indeed about the ug of that time.
@@MentalPistolThere could be a whole series of documentaries just on Detroit Hip-Hop from 00-2011
@@NeoAndersonChannel1 Damn right.

This is so nostalgic that it brings so much joy to my heart. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to meet Little Brother. I was one of the singers on Big Pooh album, the song called Jungle. Such dope artists.
Phonte is EASILY in my top 5 emcees! I personally feel little brother is kinda slept on, but those who know… THEY KNOW!
Man.... this hit all the feels for me.
✊🏾💎✨ RIP Percy Miracles 🙏🏾 *Salute to one of the best hip hop groups of all time!* ✨ #LBbizness 💙✌🏾

Tears 2 my eyes. This is NC right here. Not Petey Pablo this is NC RIGHT HERE. 9th gave my rap group our 1st show off open mic
Love this documentary. LB was ahead of the curve and I felt had The Listening and The Minstrel Show been released when social media was bigger then they would have had bigger success. Always put NC on their backs.
Love brother Rell
The sender was on repeat! Median was/is my guy!
God Bless and Keep Phonte and Pooh.

It was in the theaters? Is it doing the film festival circuit.
Who is they?
So blessed to finally see LB at the Roots Picnic last year, highlight of the festival. These guys deserve all the flowers they receive.
This was amazing

I love little brother but THE FOREIGNE EXCHANGE was like incredible time in my life
So fitting to be in the Justus League, because yall were and continue to be my heroes.

Tuning in all the way from Philly‼️
It always baffled my mind how one part of a group would wanna do their own solo thing and be shocked when the other part of the group would rather end the group.... once anyone wants to do their own thing it's ultimately over
Such great memories upon my first listen of "The Listening". Little Brother is legendary. Phonte, Rapper Big Pooh & 9th Wonder did the thing!
Greatest group of the early 00's along with atmosphere.
Both the listening and the minstrel show are timeless classics
