  • In this video, you will learn how and why you get stressed. You'll understand how situations trigger the Stress Response in you. I talk about the main threats to our physical health and wellbeing and also the many psychological threats that can cause you to feel stressed.
The stress response works in one of five different ways. These are fight, flight, freeze, fawn and faint. I also cover the role of the Amygdala and the Hypothalamus in responding to threats. Real physical changes occur in the brain and body and its good to know what these are.
You'll learn about the main psychological threats that can stress us out. These include threats to our self worth, relationship or financial security. Also how stress can leave you with feelings of helplessness, being powerless or out of control.
I finish off by explaining how to influence the stress response through your beliefs. This is fascinating stuff and explains how you can influence the automatic stress response over time.

Verrry interesting, according to mbpt, I am an INFJ - (Assertive). Until I was 30 ish, my fight/flight was “absent”. My frontal cortex seems to have rehearsed all possible threats, as a survival habit, (my Mother was a Covert Narcissist, no Love, just threats). Now I’m a live-in Caregiver for my bedridden Sister, she is a CN, and threatens my security also. The result is, I’m living with my greatest Teacher, so I continue to evolve.
After a bout with Anxiety/Panic in my thirties, it started me on my current path. Panic attacks were difficult because they popped out of nowhere with no Rational cause, then I realized for me - no real cause means no real response to be used, so I let it go, learned another trick.
I have been “prepared” to not panic under any circumstances all of my life. My nickname in Vietnam was “CoolJ”, (101st. ABN, 70 - 71).
I enjoy the hyper/calmness, under fire, in which I make most of my instantaneous decisions, I don’t understand it, but, it seems like a gift that I can trust.
Cheers from San Diego - thx for another great vid. Helped me understand the mechanics of it.

Indecisive, procrastination, agreeing to avoid conflict. Blocking 🚫 stuff out, my bf tells me all the time, 'you did this'
and I'm like........ uhh that's not how I remember it, I don't remember that.
As you guys can imagine, it never ends well.

Yes it can be hard when other people (especially family & loved ones) don't see or remember things in the same way as you.
