@@lazerduckzilla I'm pretty sure Kurt Ballou himself once said in an interview that they wanted to create a metal version of Sonic Youth or something. They were def influenced by this band.
In music there are levels and some people can't get on this level; which is fine because like anything subjective, which nearly all music is, this is no different. It's less about the melody of the voice and more about the presentation, feeling, or aesthetic of it. Would you prefer some hokey pop singer or an overproduced and fake metal boi?
