Great video, but one correction! This is the air that goes to your engine. The cabin air filter aka "the air you are going to be breathing" is affected only by changing the filter behind the glove compartment box. This replacement only affects the engine performance, not the air you breath in! Thank you!
Super easy, step by step instructions. I replaced the cabin air filter per your other instructional video at the same time. You're a money saver! THANKS
This was great and I just did it.. SO EASY! when someone just shows you how to do it. My Honda Dealership wanted to charge me $79.99 to change this. It took me a total of 5 minutes (including watching the video for 3 minutes). Thanks!
I couldn't find anything in the manual about this or the cabin air filter. Both seem pretty standard to swap out, but I guess Honda wants to service even the most simplest of tasks for their customers. Thanks for the video!
Awesome instructions! I watched two other videos and could not manage to open the air filter housing. Then I found your video and the steps you show made it quick and easy to pop it open. Thanks so much!
Thanks - useful just to make sure I was on the right track with the 3 clips, slide to the left, and lift off. The 8 "thumbs down" must be from Honda dealers and auto repair shops wanting people to pay $50 for this service!
Very helpful! Especially the part that shows how to push the cover to the left. I had a hard time with the execution of that part, though. It takes a little bit of strength (and experience), but I was able to get it off after a few trials. The key is to push straight.
Wow, thanks, i was stuck how to take out that cover, this is great simple vedio, with help of this i am able to change both filters of my 2016 honda accord. Thank You!!
@Jibran I've used them in the past without any problem. Only reason why I haven't changed to K&N for this car is because I'm going to install the Takeda intake. But just remember to follow the instructions with your filter, I've read too much oil is not good for the mass air flow sensor.
Silva Hawk Both are pretty much the same, only difference is the Takeda ones has the power coated one. K&N is a little cheaper though. I believe both intakes are CARB exempt.
Hi brother if I change the intake to tekeda intake system do i need to program my car computer ? I heard from one of my friend if i change the intake without reprogram the car computer check engine will pop up
Yo, thanks for this! I have a Touring model and I just got the 'A12' maintenance code. I was able to find the both the cabin and engine air filters online for just over $40. My dealer, Plaza Honda in Brooklyn, NY, wanted over $100 to change them both - not a chance.
Bill Davison Thank you for watching. New Filter $10-$25. Not having to pay dealership or other mechanics "labor" fees and having it done right within 5 min by yourself = pricesess.
The filter that you're changing is going into the engine, not what you're breathing, the cabin filter however is what cleans the cabin's air which you will be breathing.
Looking at this now I know next time. I was just shown both the engine and cabin filter while waiting to get an oil change. I got the price of both. Smh...I slipped with that of not checking the filters. Seeing both of your vids it takes seconds to do both.
Thanks but this is the engine air filter. Cabin air filter is different and is located behind your glove box. That’s the air you breathe so you may want to check that
Do you have to reset anything on the Dash . I thought I remembered that the guy said to push in that reset button and it went back to zero unless I'm thinking of when the Oil is changed
+Thomas Swan You only need to reset it if the maintenance minder "2" shows up on the gauge. For example. Code A1 means to change the engine oil and rotate the tires. A2 means to change the oil and change out the cabin and engine air filters.
I dont use a honda oem air filter. Now if we are talking transmission fluid then that is different. Also the cabin filter is what filters the air that comes into the vehicle not the engine air filter.
I have a 2013 honda accord 4 cylinder, I went to the Honda dealer for a oil change they recommend that I change my air filter. The car is only 10 months old. I only do city driving. What do you recommend?
On average, it should be changed every 30K miles. However, if you live in a dusty area or if the filter becomes dirty, you should change it earlier. If I were you, I would open the cover and check the filter. It takes about 5min to check and change it only if you find them to be dirty.
The car dealership told me they would change this for me they were charging $55 per filter, (Air and cabin) for a total change out service of $115 I know it is much easier to do myself and will do that, but I am seeing prices from $36 to $57 for the air filter alone, where did you get the price of $26 dollars?
one small thing. you said "the air you breath". . . isn't that the engine filter (the air for the engine) and NOT the cabin filter (the air you breath)? or am I watching the wrong video?
Yeah, I heard that and immediately rewinded the video and thought "Man, technology is getting up there if the intake filter is also supplying the cabin." Haha.
Bao Nguyen Correct I don't believe there are carb exempt intake for the accord. It doesn't mean that you can't swap out your intake back to stock when you have to get the smog check done. 1st smog check is not required until after 5 years.
Great video, but one correction! This is the air that goes to your engine. The cabin air filter aka "the air you are going to be breathing" is affected only by changing the filter behind the glove compartment box. This replacement only affects the engine performance, not the air you breath in! Thank you!
Yes, you car correct. I caught that after I uploaded the video.
DIY: Car Modz Is it the same procedure for 2017 honda accord sports special edition.?
Thanks. Honda was going to charge me $116 to replace both engine and cabin filter. I did both under $40 bucks.
receecake Nice not bad at all. My dealership was going to charge me $100 just to change out the cabin filter.
receecake damn rats bro
And it only takes them 5 minutes to do it. What robbery.
i was that guy who paid $100 smh now i know
that's why I let my dealer tell me what my car needs... and have the work done at my neighborhood mechanic for half the labor charge.
Super easy, step by step instructions. I replaced the cabin air filter per your other instructional video at the same time. You're a money saver! THANKS

Thanks so much for this video. I just replaced the engine air filter on my 2013 Honda Accord by watching this.
I couldn't find anything in the manual about this or the cabin air filter. Both seem pretty standard to swap out, but I guess Honda wants to service even the most simplest of tasks for their customers. Thanks for the video!
watched the video and did it myself in 5 minutes. the dealership was so expensive for such easy work. thanks
+kathaleen castillo Thank you for watching. Glad to hear you were able to save money by changing it out yourself. Nice work.
Awesome instructions! I watched two other videos and could not manage to open the air filter housing. Then I found your video and the steps you show made it quick and easy to pop it open. Thanks so much!

Just did this myself by watching this video...took all of maybe 4 minutes, thanks! I appreciate it.
I did not know how to proceed after the three clips. Your video helped me pull it off. Like!
Very helpful! Especially the part that shows how to push the cover to the left. I had a hard time with the execution of that part, though. It takes a little bit of strength (and experience), but I was able to get it off after a few trials. The key is to push straight.
Thank you for the clear, informative video. I able to follow your instructions and saved a bunch of $ compared to what Honda wanted to charge me.
I find out so much about my car just by watching your videos! Thanks man.
Thanks so much! I watched another video and it didn’t say to push to the left and I was struggling until I saw your video! Thanks so much!
Man you are the best!!! Thank you for saving me almost 2 hundreds!
what you do is awesome!--I appreciate all your help in showing the accord community!
Thank you!! I just changed my own intake and cabin filter using your videos!!! You saved me some money!!! yay beer money lol
Congrats! Cheers~~
Wow, thanks, i was stuck how to take out that cover, this is great simple vedio, with help of this i am able to change both filters of my 2016 honda accord. Thank You!!
Thank you for this video! I was able to save myself some money! It was easy!
Thanks for this video. You saved me $40
Thank you for this video. I used it for my 2015 Acura TLX and it was the same as the Honda. Perfect explanation!
Thank you so much !! I just saved $50 😂 by doing it by myself
Thanks for sharing this. It worked great with my 2015 Acura TLX.
Your vids are super helpful I'm so glad we got the same car
Thank you again... Another great and helpful DIY video !
Thank you! - very informative and professional video!
@Jibran I've used them in the past without any problem. Only reason why I haven't changed to K&N for this car is because I'm going to install the Takeda intake. But just remember to follow the instructions with your filter, I've read too much oil is not good for the mass air flow sensor.
Would you recommend K&N or the Takeda intake?
Silva Hawk Both are pretty much the same, only difference is the Takeda ones has the power coated one. K&N is a little cheaper though. I believe both intakes are CARB exempt.
DIY: Car Modz thanks a lot for your input!
hope you're still making more videos for the Accord
Hi brother if I change the intake to tekeda intake system do i need to program my car computer ? I heard from one of my friend if i change the intake without reprogram the car computer check engine will pop up

Thanks. Great instructions. Much appreciated.
Thanks, you saved me $25.00!
You are a God send! Thanks so much!!!
thank you. i forgot about pushing to the left.
Great helpful video. Thank you for the walk through on the process.

thank you for teh part numbers, praise you
Less then a hour ago I changed the cabin filter… easy breezy
Thanks a lot. I've been helped your video. -accord 2013 user in S. Korea. ^^ Of course I've subcribed yours.
lol I'll be doing this instead of paying Honda $90. Thanks man.

Very useful videos, I really appreciate what you are doing. I have the same car and I will definitely try this out.
i was charged 49.95 in labor for this - wtf
You got just got shafted
@@FrankHudsonbass haha - i know it. It was 5 years ago and i have moved on from tht car. I always replace my filters now - so stupid
Thanks man. Just changed both filters with ur help
Congrats. d
My oil change guy wanted to charge me 30$ and 25$ for the filters. Autozone they were 20$ each so I saved 15$ and learned how to do it
How to you keep your enjoy room so clean, can you make a video on how to clean it , thanks buddy
Thanks but this is the engine air filter. Cabin air filter is different and is located behind your glove box. That’s the air you breathe so you may want to check that
Thanks bro great video
Thanks saved me some bucks
Please make a video on installing spash guards

Thanks, I almost broke mine trying to get it open.
Will this fit my 2013 Accord V6 Coupe?
i took the intake cover off my 2017 accord sport and i noticed differences
What do you think about the K&N air filter that has lifetime use with servicing (cleaning/oiling) every 50,000 miles?
cost effective
Awesome! Thanks for posting :)

DIY: Car Modz I will thank you.
Thank you! 🙏🏽
yo will leaving the cover off damage my car ?
It would only start doing damage if the filter comes out of place since the engine would possibly start sucking in dirt and debris
Where did you purchase the filter at thanks
Lorco

+Dragonfoe I purchase all my OEM parts online from www.hondapartsunlimited.com/
+DIY: Car Modz Thanks :-)
one small thing. you said "the air you breath". . . isn't that the engine filter (the air for the engine) and NOT the cabin filter (the air you breath)? or am I watching the wrong video?
simple error on my part.. I'm human after all... I recorded both videos on the same day.
Yeah, I heard that and immediately rewinded the video and thought "Man, technology is getting up there if the intake filter is also supplying the cabin." Haha.
Thanks, it's helpful!!!
Goodlooks bro😂🔥
Not getting intake?
Bao Nguyen Eventually. I will get one once I have the funds. Either the Injen or the Takeda and make a DIY installation video.
They're not "carb" though. I think you're in California no?
Bao Nguyen

That's true.
LOL! Honda said 179 for this. I came here thinking well how hard is it??
But both filter, cabin and engine from amazon, cost me for both FRAM filters under 25. bucks
Cabin filter on 2013 honda
ua-cam.com/video/iTvtivasEaU/v-deo.html
Buy - k&n air filter (Part Number - 33-2498) + Pollen Cabin Filter ( Part N - VF2001) to save money
Don’t think i will be breathing in the air , I think the engine will
thanks!!
Tried to charge me 160$ for engine and cabin filter🤣
Damn wtf where ?
👍
$25 is a lot for a filter. I got mine for $10 on ebay
used ?
Gonna do this myself. They tried charging me $50 for a filter ! FOH !!!
lol to anyone who has paid to get the air filter replaces. That's like at
I just wasted my money at Honda, which is probably the opposite thing other people did on this video. What a fucking waste.
Thanks, I almost broke mine trying to get it open.
