Nobody wants to hear this, but Atkins is not as bad as everyone thinks. The Varsho trade didn't work out, but Varsho at the time of the trade was an amazing get. That is like this off-season, Justin Turner had a great year last year, and the drop off wasn't expected to be this bad. We'd love him to do more, but he doesn't set the spending, that is a Roger's conversation. He seems to have handled this deadline well. The problem with the Jays this year has been injuries and players underperforming.
Billy Wagner is not yet a HOF member.

All these trades and the prospects coming back aren’t blue chippers. Only one ranks on the top 100 prospects listing at 92?! The rest is at best could be triple A depth. This organization still is miles away from any real talent coming up. Rogers still needs to fire these guys at the end of the season.

How about Vladdy! Where are all the he's a bust morons? Batting .311, 21 bombs (after a super slow power start) and .900 OPS. And doing this with literally no protection in the lineup. He's gonna start getting pitched around like crazy now, just watch. With a guy like Varsho or Schnieder hitting behind him, it would be crazy to pitch anything to him now. Imagine Vladdy having a legit banger hitting behind him for once. People wonder why Semien had such a great season as a Jay, cause Vladdy was protecting him all season hitting behind him.
He’s on a roll and swinging the bat very well right now, but Vladdy showing up for 9/16’s of a season isn’t necessarily something to cheer about. And that’s assuming that he keeps this pace for the remainder.
Ya but he’s going to want big money and unfortunately jays are don’t like spending big money as they got rid of semien teo donaldson all these guys that wanted money Rogers is to cheap .

Vlady is a paper tiger. Dude shows up when nothing is on the line. When the pressure is on or when he needs to perform, dude folds like a cheap suit. The way you look at Vlady is exactly why we should trade him. Looks good from afar, but we all know he’s not a clutch player
Its a good haul but they arent exactly super young either. They better be able to contribute straight away.

Still waiting for a Jays prospect to make the all star game that Atkins has drafted. If he was any good we should have had at least 3 players good enough to play in the all star game. We should have had at least 3 good starting pitchers that came out of our system already. Where are they? Atkins and Shapiro need to go.
bichette was a atkins draft pick, manoah as well, both made the all star game
@miken8889 You're right, but both have been inconsistent. They probably wouldn't mind having a fresh start on a new team. My point is that we need a lot more talented players coming out of the draft. We're not getting that, and the best teams in the mlb are getting it done.
Actually bo was scouted by AA’s scouts. Manoah, was an Atkin pick and how’s that working out? Name a position player Atkin has drafted or develop?

@nelsonribeiro9763 until this year bo has not been inconsistent, manoah has clearly been dealing with an injury, and they finally figured it out. But I will agree, you do wana see a consistency thing when it comes to drafting and developing! I don't think schinder, horowitz, and co are the answer

I hope that Rogers cans both Shapiro and Atkins. I’d give Schneider another chance, but under a new boss.
Schneider can only use the players Atkins tells him to use. While the trade with Houston was good, the Jays
will get a nice package in return. However, in my opinion, Shapiro and Atkins have to be gone at season’s end.

Astro fan here the Houston Astros fanbase is fucking pissed we can't believe that Dana Brown gave away for a crappy pitcher for 2 months
He's not a crappy pitcher but it was an overpayment. He's strong twice through the lineup but then he needs to be taken out. Our manager who sucks, doesn't know how to handle a rotation and our RPs give up a lot of his inherited runners because our RPs suck. So his era is inflated too.
I’m still shocked over this trade. Did Houston get desperate or did the Jays force there hand.

Not sure if it's correct, but on Jays Talk+ this morning they said that Click had a conflict and had to stay out of the negotiations.
Ross doesn't get off the hook for doing his job for once.
They may have got a good return for Kikuchi but are these prospects going to help next year because Atkins says they are retooling for 2025 so can we trust Atkins to sign players in the off-season to make this team good enough to compete atleast for a wildcard spot I say no way Mr Atkins you still need to go time for a new mind and vision how to build a contender not a pretender
Wagner is 26 years old. How can that be a good haul for the Jays? Wait and see on the other two but I am not that excited.

The Stros probably lost all confidence in Loperfido would be my guess. He is a walking K after all. It's a decent haul not a fleecing
Decent haul for sure but if Kikuchi continues to pitch like he has over the past number of weeks, I can't see the Stros wanting to re-sign him
That was a fantastic trade! Kikuchi, Jansen and Garcia could all easily be back next season.
This is NOT by any means a heist - lets not "Maple Leafs" this trade with over hype of desperate hopefullness. However a decent haul. Bloss is an end of the rotation guy, a 3 at best. Loperfido is 25 and still in the minors, he has a long way to go and is close to the classic 27 bust mark. Wagner is worse. Bloss is your guy, and the others are throw shit against the wall and hope it sticks. The only reason the Jays love them, is because the play multiple positions.
Adkins and Shapiro have to go before the the Rogers Stadium is empty and ticket sales are non existent and the Blue Jays are just a distant memory
The Jays so far,have gotten NOTHING. They have gotten 10-12 double A prospects. That is NOTHING. All these players are 3-4 years out from possibly making the big team IF they are good enough.
