This video details the use of bedside ultrasound imaging and a phased array probe to evaluate cardiac structures and health, especially when looking for left ventricular contractility, the presence of pericardial effusion, and evaluating the left heart chamber size and valves. It reviews the four standard views of a cardiac echo examination-parasternal view (long axis), parasternal view (short axis), subxiphoid view, apical view-as well as cardiac structures and optimal transducer placements.

Hi George, thank you for your question. As you are looking at the diagram on the left at 2:42, the right coronary cusp is the "leaflet" on the left, and the non-coronary cusp is the "leaflet" on the right. You can see the two cusps represented on the ultrasound image next to the arrow labeled "Aortic Valve," where the right coronary cusp is on the top near the arrow and the non-coronary cusp is just below that.

When I had the ultrasound I was struck with how untidy the heart is. Its an impressive organ for sure and Im happy to have one its just that it looked so dumpy to me. The valve action was so clunky and the tissue frayed and imprecise. I have a normal healthy heart btw Im just saying that I think we could design a better heart if we had the ability to grow new ones.
