Loving the Vids man. Seeing you do what you’re passionate about and chasing your dream of being a farmer has made me realize i can do the same. Currently been buying equipment slowly, and looking for land. Thanks for the inspiration!
Aw dang man... love the harvest have been waiting for this all year!! When I saw the like 2 videos you pisted on this and subd never thought it would turn into this!!!
I honestly enjoy seeing views from the combine and from the tractor. Definitely nice to change it up. Keep up the great content guys. Hopefully the yields stay high for you guys.
So awesome that you are sharing this experience with your dad and brother. Man I am so jealous. I love your vids Grant because you are never mad. Love the spirit. Happy Farmers Day 🇺🇸🇺🇸
About your dad. Trust me when I say do it sooner than later. If it even remotely possible, do everything in your power to help him get that land of his own to farm like you said. While he is still able to work it and enjoy it and make memories. The years as you get older sneak up faster than you expect; the next thing you know it's all over. Life will be better for you both, if you do it now. Enjoy your dad my friend.
It's so cool to follow a farmer from the very very beginning onwards, can't wait whats to come next year with maybe future expensions or what not. Keep it up, great content!!!
Time to get you a yankum rope for hills and if you get stuck. We always blew our filters out every morning when we checked the oil and fueled the combines.
This might sound weird in a way. But to be more efficient u should try loading one wagon and keeping the other at the field to load up while the other wagon is gone and then switch em out so u can keep running
That's the plan with the 100-acre field we will be starting this week. The shed field we can run two and get back in time before the combine gets full. On hilly sections, we have been doing one wagon at a time though.
@@farmboygamer7877 his elevator is less then 2 miles from some fields. That’s closer then many fields to home farm. Two large boxes have more bushels then a semi. Brakes need to function well to be safe. Saw a 2nd box shear off a rim. Dragged it a ways because you can’t see it.
Just a friendly tip, definitely wouldn't recommend un hooking s gravity wagon an letting it roll free backwards down hill, good possibility of it going really wrong
Grant you should get a ripper, another tractor with smaller wagons than the ones you have and run two sets of wagons, and you should get a 8 row header
Keep up the good work, you guys are doing great for your first year! You should buy a tractor-hoe and “clean up” the tree line, I know we pushed field edges back and improved yields as well.
When you make it to one end of the field, you can make a tear drop turn on your headland. This will make you much more efficient with the combine and field work.
It would probably help to have a good grain trailer for a semi just to let you get more done a little faster, maybe next year. I know a guy with a truck lol
Just a heads up, you want to run the corn head higher. You want to run the ear savers (the rubber flaps between the snouts) about 3-5 inches below the ear no matter even if the ear is 4 ft off the ground.
If you have lodging, you have to run with the ends of the snouts on the ground to pick up the down corn. Run head too high and you just drive over the lodged stalks.
Soo dad always said while farming is why go to Vegas when you can farm. Do you feel the same way lol keep it up buddy. also don't forget to blow the engine out once in a while just to keep the wiring clean. Stay safe bud
Hey grant glad to see your down to 30 acres on corn also what was the total average you’ve had so far on corn and much strain does the 6 row head put on that combine I know a guy who runs a 8 row with a 9750sts he used to have a 9610 but that’s in the flat blacklands of North Carolina here but thanks for the vid
@@olliewilliams8925 I know that but I was just wondering how much it takes out that combine to run it and with the acres he runs all he needs is a 6row
If that is not a chopping head, you don't have to run the head all the way to the ground. As long as your deck plates are about 3 inches bellow the lowest cob, you'll get it. Especially on those end rows you will want to be careful.
Yes, was running head a bit too low. Usually, I've been auto-adjusting head, when I hit down corn I will drop the head low and then when I hit good corn I'll raise the head back up. I was probably still running it too low during camera tho.
Yes this is true, however, in downed corn, there is no real way to figure the lowest cob. As long as your not like dragging the header on the ground, it's fine to run it a little lower in the down spots so you don't see too much header loss. You can also manually adjust it as needed to correct header drag over steeper hills.
Love the vids Grant this is so incredible to see a guy who wanted to farm and his dream of farming came true
lol, spencer, breaks combine header, "worst combine driver ever" if grant broke it "best combine driver ever has first mess up" brotherly love 😂😂😂😂
It is a pleasure to meet Barney. Spencer, I like your helper, she makes working a lot more fun.
The best thing about owning the farm is you are always the best person on the farm at everything. Especially when you work alone.
Or the worst

It was awesome watching you buy your first tractor, now you are here growing your farm with all this awesome new equipment! Well done Grant! 🙌🏼

@@Sportsmediakid So what are you even replying to??
You are doing a great job!!🚜👍👍
Your dad has to be very proud of you. We just started Harvest here in Pennsylvania didn't go very good we need more sun. Have a great evening
Hope you guys have a good harvest!

Awesome to see that the farm is progressing!
Great video! Congrats on your first corn harvest.

Wouldn’t that put fuel cost up a lot? And wear and tear on the tires I guess. They really need 4 wagons so they can drop and go almost.

Well if he does that every time they have torn hook them up and unhook so someone who would even suggest that is a nongnoleged farmer
@@Sportsmediakid not really it makes it more efficient than taking both and having nothing to unload into while the wagons are gone
My favourite farming channel!! Keep it up grant 👍
Love to see you living the dream
Very enjoyable video Grant, as always I’m looking forward to the next instalment, bit of advice, stick to driving the combined yourself mate 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Can't wait for more videos.
Let's go!
G’ job Grant keep hanging in there!!!

Don’t judge them old John Deere’s. Lol. I was surprised it made it up the hill to. Good video
Loving the vids man keep it up👍
Great video good work good luck with the rest of the harvest
Make sure you give those filters a decent hit and make sure no dirt falls out
Next time might not be a bad idea to go with one wagon at a time with the hill. You have lot steeper hills then what we have
Awesome stuff guys, thanks.

Don't worry about the bent snout, Daddy cornstar and Cole usually smoke 2 a year 😆

A tip so you don’t get docked a lot at the mill, near the end of the auger it’s a screen take it off, less filings you will thank me

Cool, show ur dad more and get him talking more, I love hearing family history, just get him more involved
maywest snout savers?
I wasn't surprised he made it up the hill with the tractor
In the further if your looking to buy more land, you should look into some land that is almost are field and large
any plans for fall tillage on any of the ground like chiseling or vertical tillage?
Disk Ripping my other COC farm, otherwise will most likely no till beans into cornstalks or VT in spring if I could rent one.
