This is by far Nirvana's most repetitive song and it's still never boring.

he had so much expression with his guitar playing
The amazing think about Nirvana is they could do so many different styles, and it would still work each and every time. Bleach was heavy, Nevermind had more of a pop sound, In Utero was a mix of both, and Unplugged was softer and gentle.

This song is classic grunge, and so is the whole bleach album, how can anyone say it is rubbish?
Kurt was obviously stoned when he wrote this song, yet I believe the song has benefitted from this anyway!
the little sentences, e.g. "Wed your bed" and "Afraid to grade" compliment the grunge riff
The lyric is "Wed" your bed, not "Wet" the song is ultimately about people who have mental illnesses like phobia's and compulsions...I think personifythelies is right about overanalyzing the music, just enjoy it and find a meaning that fits u is wut i say. To me this song is a drug reference. The line "your eyes..." is what made me think this at first cause when u get stoned usually ur eyes get red. And then the lines "teacher said" and "preacher said" kinda push that idea cause it's not that unbelieveable for a teacher, preacher or some other authority figure questioning u if they thought u were on drugs. i don't know that just wut i think....

This album, along with Alice In Chains's "Alice In Chains" and (and I'm sure I'll get a lot of flak for this, but it's my honest opinion) Soundgarden's "Superunknown" are the best examples of the intense brutality grunge is capable of. Alice In Chains's "Sludge Factory" is probably the heaviest song I've ever heard; it outmatches every song I've heard from my beloved Venom.

The sound of this album has The Melvins written all over it.

Maybe Cobain consider him self a punk rocker , but hes music was pop hard/rock. (i'm not talking about rare songs that never make it to album, i'm talking about what he left on the albums)
