i loved this clip :) asit was my first time looking any technical clip about this form of dance, i dont actually know what to ask for, yet this starter one really made me smile and i ld like more of it :D
More moves like paradiddle, back essence, shirley temple... explained and then put with music at the end like this one would be so fun!! 😎 Also, I know your very busy now so no pressure for time, whenever works for you is great.
More on basics and warm up exercises. Awesome! I am starting tap again after 60 years. It's a challenge, but such fun. I ordered tap shoes this morning. Thank you, Prof!
I just started studying Tap about a month ago, and your instructional videos are by far best at breaking it down and learning the concepts. Great job!!
I'm 70 years old and wanted to tap dance since I was a kid. I've just started your easy to follow lessons and it's great. You break it down simply. It's concise, easy to follow and practice and most of all fun. THANKS! Mike, Park Ridge IL.
For a long time, I told myself: I’m not a dancer. But, now - I really want to learn tap dancing! LoL!!! Idk why, but, it looks FUN! Because, I have zero rhythm/ & I’m clumsy on the dance floor, but, I want to learn how to tap dance now!! Thank you!!! U look amazing. U all look amazing when you TAP❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
I am 67 years old and finally have the opportunity to learn how to tap dance. For years I always asked my granddaughter's dance studio if they offer tap dance to adults? Finally after asking for 20 years, the dance studio decided to offer tap dance to the adults. I only sighed up for the summer session because of the distance I have to travel at night. Thanks for the tutorial session because I needed to learn at a slower pace. I look forward to the other videos.
My 5 year old granddaughter is taking tap dance. I'm 61 years old and I haven't tap danced since I was 15 years old. I thought it was time I pick up some moves and dance with her. Thank you for your easy to follow lessons. I'll be sure to watch more of your videos.
This always been on my bucket list to learn to tap dance. I am now at the age of 55 this year in a tap dance school! But with experience dancers!! I'm doing my darndest with a recital in June! Thank you for your video!! I'm now doing what I have always dreamed of!
I have chronic pain, degenerative discs, and I was so incredibly depressed. I always wanted to learn tap, but my parents forced me into ballet instead. I loved and longed for tap, decades after deciding I had no talent for dancing... I have two overactive boys: ages 8 & 5. They need more opportunities to burn their energy at home, and they need more active time with me... so I have put my apprehensions to rest and have begun learning to tap with them by my side with your wonderful videos. I struggle with my back, but it seems to truly be gaining muscle mass which is helping tremendously - and to an extent decades of physio failed to achieve! My boys are beyond delighted and delightful to have this special passion to share with me. Nothing brings me more joy than listening to the tip-tapping and giggling away... when they ask me to join them and my pain seems to almost vanish as the excitement and happiness I feel overwhelms everything else. I always felt my heart race and the most incredible flood of euphoria when I watched (or even heard) tap. It took me until my 30's to realise that just because I didn't get to learn in my childhood, doesn't mean I can't learn in my adulthood. I now embrace wholeheartedly the saying that "the best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago; the second best time is now". Thank you, sincerely and from the bottom of my heart, for making my present so beautiful and my future so bright. I would have given up long before had it not been for finding your videos - which I could a) afford, b) follow, and c) not find mind-boggling annoying!!! :D
When I was a toddler, I took 1 class of tap, but I don't think I learned much in that hour class. Now I want to get back into tap, so I looked for videos, I watched a few others, and I completely didn't understand. Then I found this one, and now I am ready to showcase all these moves I learned to everyone. This is my favorite tap tutorial ever! Thank you.
I’m 66 years old just bought my tap shoes and love your tutorial…I danced in George M Cohan 40 years ago but had never taken lessons…we learned at our rehearsals…so I want to learn the proper way and improve my balance and flexibility with tap! Thank u for the great intro!
Ty so much for posting your instruction online. Since I was a young girl in the 80s, I wanted to learn tap. I just love the sound, and your feet are your instruments. I grew up watching old Broadway musicals and loved watching Betty Grable and Ann Miller dance. I decided that it's time to try and fulfill my childhood dream while I still can (better late than never).😄 I built a tap floor, which will be finished shortly. I just need to put my own design on it and varnish it. I'm really looking forward to trying this.
I’ve always wanted to learn tap dance. Now I’m taking advantage of the lock down to learn it. The video was super easy to follow along, very well explained and I really enjoyed it, tysm 😊
I Bought Mu Niece A Pair Of Tap Shoes For Her 8th Birthday 🎂! She Is Already Learning Amazing Things! She Is Going To Be Posting Videos Soon Herself! 😂 THANK YOU
The same as a lot of people, I have always wanted to learn. As a child of the 1950s in a big family no $. But with the lockdown, the door of opportunity opened. I am 68 but not too old to learn. Your video is my favourite.
Haven't done tap since I was a kid. Your instructions are so clear and concise. This is great fun . You make it come together so well. Thanks and I'll be following you!!
The first time I saw someone tap dance on TV (the 70's) I thought it was so cool. For some reason I never took the time to learn. Thanks for showing the basics.
Perfect way to introduce tap and to teach it! I love that you went at a steady learning pace and explained every step. It made putting it together easier and connected all the dots from what you previously taught. Great video, great lesson, excellent teacher!
i seriously cannot thank you enough. tap just became a requirement at my dance studio and its been a LOOONG TIME since ive tapped. so thank you so so so much and now i’ll feel less pathetic in class!!
Loved this video!! I took tap as a child for a short time, but loved it. I have just now come back to study tap as an adult for both fun and exercise. Thanks for refreshing my memory of basic tap steps!!
I’ve been tapping for 7 years now, and now I’m giving lessons! This video helped a lot bc I didn’t know how to really describe how to do these things lol 😭
I've just recently discovered you on UA-cam and subscribed. You're great!! I've set up a small area of hard surface and I bought some inexpensive tap shoes (following your guidance) and I'm practicing these 5 basic steps. I've wanted to tap dance since I was a kid (loved Donald O'Connor, Gene Kelly, Ginger and Fred). You're a great teacher, the lesson is well thought out and put together and concise. I'm a fitness trainer and martial arts guy. I'm also 70 years old and I can tell you this is wonderful for balance training, cognitive development and a whole lot of fun. I will look up your other lessons when I get these basic steps down better. If you can, keep 'em coming. Thanks so much, Mike Brooks Chicago, Ill

I have tape on the edges to keep it fastened to the floor. What flooring are you using?

Good job. Good tutorial. Hey. Can you recommend a portable tap dance floor? Thanks

Hi Victor! Thanks for the compliment.
