Great teacher! You explain and demonstrate so clearly. My husband and I are in our 60s. We used to take tap lessons as kids. I’ve had a pair of tap shoes gathering dust for years. You’ve inspired me to break them out and get a pair for my husband. Fred and Ginger, lookout!
Excellent breakdown of some basics. Using this clip daily to get up to speed with the tap class I joined (at age 70!) Thanks! I think I can get into this! Added benefit: My teachers say tap will help me with the weight changes in jazz class. Fun!
So glad to have found you on UA-cam - your instruction is perfect! Just getting into tap in my 60's with a knee replace and lots of arthritis! This is so much fun, I forget all the aches and pains!
Great instruction... it might help if you mention that the technique you use, you are using the natural weight of your leg to fall down or drop and cause the tap to sound, so less likelihood of strain injuries or torn muscles. The other technique requires you to lift your leg and swing it, so requires a lot more effort, and actually looks like a totally different sort of step. I also suspect that you could sprain your groin doing the latter!
Thanks. I bought Tap Dance made Easy I can see the text, but it no longer lets me see the videos and it says "this video is private" I wrote to the Amazon Kindle and they told me "write to the author", please help me, Thank you.
Clogger here - trying to “unclog” a flap. It’s nearly impossible for me to do. Are you brushing your ball forward and then putting it down, or brishing it backward and putting it down?

It is a brush forward with a snap backwards
Shirley Temple tap dance
Your flaps look like 'tap steps'......but then I learnt tap 60 years ago!
