I told my buddy who loves the Transformers movies about Hasbro owning Power Rangers and thinking about a shared universe with Transformers and GI Joe and he just rolled his eyes and said how is a children's show going to join cool movies like those, and hopes that Michael Bay will make Power Rangers cool lmao

I'm with ya man. "Bumblebee" and the moves Hasbro has been making lately show they care about their franchises and updating them while keeping them true to the classic stuff the fans love. For as great as the 2017 flick was, it obviously didn't click with casuals and people who just want a good teen action flick - I think Hasbro can do a version of MMPR that will be refreshing and familiar, like the Boom comics you mentioned. I hope so, at least.
A PR movie in the veins of Bumblebee will feels a lot more like the show and click with audiences. As much as the fan base is big, this reboot isn’t going to do squat if it can’t also appeal to casuals.

I know this would never happen but I think a PR movie based on a different season would be better. A movie based on something like SPD or In Space provides so many opportunities to go to. I personally have no connection to MMPR and I'm tired of it, there's better stories to pull from with other seasons.
I agree, there are seasons with far more interesting stories. Though business numbers will probably tell Hasbro to stick with MMPR for the reboot.

I think honestly they can focus on the zordon era. And have different actors for each series or change some errors though the shows. Like the reason for the zeo/turbo switch up with powers and then add more cool stuff like in space instead of the final battle focusing on the space rangers it should focus on everyone from the past movie and current fighting together. Then when viewers think that if they do another it'll be lost galaxy instead surprise them with lord drakkon

3:09 Pains me with how accurate that is. First of all, I remember how Linkara is finding the Tommy-Oliver-hero worship thing to be old and unbalanced. Like he’s said, how is it that we’ve had a dead Ranger come back to life and they never get that love? Second, can you imagine being the actor asked to live up to Jason David Frank? I’d unapologetically have anxiety attacks.
As to your comment about cinematic universes...well, not inherently bad, but they can’t rush it either. MCU worked because it laid pipeline from the beginning. Take one look at, say, TMNT or Transformers and you can see it hasn’t really. I’m not sure Dwayne Johnson’s GI Joe Roadblock is ready to meet the Power Rangers without going “Who the heck are you guys?”
For similar reasons I don’t think it’s a good idea to start post-origin with MMPR reboot. One, it would confuse people (“so wait, it would take place after the Lionsgate movie but at the same time not?”) and cheapen the impact of their origins, whatever they are. This isn’t Spiderman, where Peter has a background story that everybody had sledgehammered into their brains by various reboots - really, the Lionsgate movie is the only widely-known source that’s tried something like that for MMPR. Second, you naturally love a character when you get to connect with them. A TV show (especially one that has to give emotional payoff in only 20 episodes, cough cough) gets a pass because it has clever ways to keep you “wanting to know more” when you tune in next week and can thus make backstory part of the appeal. Movies, on the other hand? Substantially less leeway - people need to care about these characters on a personal level by the time the first ticket’s worth has been used up, so to speak, or they won’t but another.

Even to this day, I still believe that the armored biker-esque outfits from the 1996 movie were the best ones ever made. They kept the designs of the original, yet added armored padding and plates to give the outfits a "combat ready" feel A uniform with THAT concept a a base guide line would be perfect.
Also I thought of a really cool idea they could do to ensure a franchise of movies, but it would be difficult. They'd have to plan out the franchise PROPERLY and not just throw in a cliffhanger "hoping" for a sequel. There should already BE ONE already partially filmed.
Anyway the idea is to First: reboot with a new story and introduce our new heroes.
2) have our heroes meet their new ally - the Green Ranger. whether ally or foe doesn't matter
3) have the rangers start to lose their powers due to the Green ranger's powers having been corrupted by Rita. So Alpha and Zordon create the white ranger and upgrade the zords.
4) the rangers find themselves under attack by dozens of Yellow, Black and Pink rangers on several occasions and get overwhelmed each time. this leads to a massive reveal.......Lord Drakkon, and playing Lord Drakkon is???????? JDF himself. This would launch the second trilogy Shattered Grid to see Shattered grid LIVE.....Ooooohh I'm gettin' tingly.
Now for the future rangers we could bring back Kat as his Pink General

Yeah, they need to write a movie everyone will like first before hinting at something bigger. Take Iron Man, which stood on its own by had that end credits scene to tease bigger things.
@@HesJulioCoolio Th issue is that the Guys at the top are ONLY seeing the end result and are trying to reproduce that effect in to one movie that's all broken and disjointed and then they get surprised when the movie flops or turns fans off. If you're going to make a movie based off of content that has a massive following, you need to please THEM FIRST. movie companies don't seem to understand that concept. That existing fans ARE the vast majority. These old guys with their 50000 dollar watches and cars that cost half a million are completely out of touch with reality already and now they want to have creative control over movies they would never even watch.
Worse is that they aren't willing to put in for the long run. This is shown by the crap ass scripts that are being approved and payed for. Despite it's flack. Man of Steel is one of ONLY two decent DC movies to come out in decades. Mostly Hollywood NEEDS to stop hiring directors who have creative visions that are contrary to movie franchises that are pre-existing. I mean who the hell thought M. Night Shyamalan would be a good fit for an Avatar movie??? THAT person needs to be sued by EVERY single movie producer in existence. Whoever gave Shyamalan the "carte blanche" and complete creative control should be washing car windshields on street corners.

Tbh I would want to see another origin story just done differently. Because if they start with Green Ranger on the team I feel like it would take away from Tommy’s whole character ark. Starting out evil then turning good, maybe him dealing with the effects Rita had on him like in the BOOM! Comics.
That’s what I meant, explore the effects Rita had on Tommy. Though having Tommy in the movie could help boost it.
As for showing how the rangers were recruited, I would do what the people behind The Incredible Hulk did. There they had a flashback at the beginning that showed how Bruce became the Hulk.
It is a good thing, Hasbro might give the fans the original designs like a g1 version and like they did to the rebooted bumblebee movie.

My Ideas for the 2017 Sequel: TOMMY OF COURSE, Evil Green Ranger Saga/Tommy Joins the Team, Lord Zedd as Main Villain, Zeo Crystals Teased, Rocky, Adam, Aisha and Kat are Introduced, Dragonzord, More Action Scenes and Credit Scene showing Rita Alive.
Hasbro originally negotiated with Lionsgate of making a sequel to the 2017 Power Rangers movie but Lionsgate turned down. That’s why Hasbro went to Paramount Pictures to do a Power Rangers movie of their own. Paramount’s been around for over a century in making movie franchises like Star Trek, Mission: Impossible, Beverly Hills Cop, Crocodile Dundee, Transformers and hit movies like Top Gun and cult classics like Explorers.
As much as I love the suits of 2017 power rangers movie I due admit they look a little bulky.

I disagree. When I saw the suits I felt they were the ugliest PR suits I've ever seen and that they made Power Rangers look way more like the evil Psycho Rangers. I hated the designs of everything in the movie from stupid Goldar blob to the complete departure from anything resembling Rita so they could make her look like a trashy green hooker Scorpina.

I wanted to do a Power Rangers animated series with ZagToon and Toei Animation. It respects all elements from Zyuranger-Kakuranger with sprinkles of originality and seriousness like Transformers Cyberverse.
I'd love to see an animated series based on the comics. Last I heard, Adi Shankar wanted to make an animated MMPR in the veins of his Castlevania series.
@@HesJulioCoolio Yes yes. Hasbro should make an Boom Comics styled MMPR series. Still, it's really cool if they air two animated series at the same time: one based on the comics, another in a ZagToon format. That's like how My Little Pony and My Little Pony: Equestria Girls aired at the same time despite unrelated continuities.
ZagToon created Miraculous Ladybug, Zak Storm, and Power Toys. I didn't like them because they were so repetitive and cliché, but some elements would be much useful. I want this to be what the Neo-Saban era could have been. In fact, Power Rangers Origins was originally going to be a movie by Saban and Zag, but cancelled along with a few of Zag's other concepts. If I fund to Toei Animation, the miniseries should happen.
@@shanthegamer21 I think any animated series should be a side-project though. I don't want the show to go fully animated. But a few side projects airing alongside the main show can help greatly expand the brand's reach.

@@shanthegamer21 So far it's been working it's way up. We got name drops of Rita and Galvanax in the first episode. Even in the most recent episode, "Sound and Fury", the hydraworm movie is a reference to a Mystic Force monster.
I definitely agree about skipping the origin story. Whether "Power Rangers" is just nostalgia from your past or you're still a fan of the ongoing series, I think most are familiar with how the rangers got their powers. Starting a while after also gives the potential to start the film with a fight scene, with the Rangers called into battle right after the credits. This also gives the opportunity to have more fight scenes throughout the film, thus taking away that complaint from 2017's film.
Then they've also said now that it will involve time travel. If this is true, and they utilize Time Force, then future crossovers will be easy to explain.
I'm sorry, but I think introducing Tommy in the first movie would be a mistake. The movie already has to juggle 5 main characters and establish the world they live in and how it works. Putting in Tommy just to be different or pander to his fans would be a mistake. And come on, give the other Rangers like Jason some time to shine before it becomes Tommy the movie.
MMPR fans always wanting to jump the gun. Always in a rush for the current stuff.

They should adapt the Megaforce suits for a reboot. Why?
1. They have the same colors.
2. The suits are more angelic.
And 3. They are more modernized can can have different Megazord combos. (I know, early Sentai & PR only had zords for the rangers and that's why REBOOT means change thing.)
The past is the past so MMPR fans have to GROW UP.

If anything a soft reboot where the Power Rangers“evolve” due to the Zeo crystal radiation’s to a sleeker more traditional look would be fantastic! So when Tommy appears (s)he continues a more traditional storyline.
Also they can tie the next few iterations of PR to Billy understanding the morphing grid and realizing that the morphing grid isn’t tied to only the crystals.
That sounds cool, though Hasbro and the cats have confirmed the new movie is a complete reboot.

If Hasbro and Paramount Pictures planning a Power Rangers movie, why would they remake the whole thing again? Lionsgate did a big-screen remake of Power Rangers back in 2017.
1) The 2017 movie failed, it makes no sense financially to make a sequel.'
2) Certain rights to the previous movies may be held up with Lionsgate. This included any characters, suit designs, etc. The reason everything is so different for MCU Spider-Man is that the rights to use the original characters in live-action would be in gridlock between Marvel and Sony. i prefer the 1995 movie costume design to the 2017 ones. The 1995 ones were far more faithful to the source material.
The only crossover I want is Transformers and Fast and the Furious. I want Optimus Prime and Dominic Toretto to talk cars.

Going for the comic story for the movie is interesting but you have to realize some of the mainstream audiences don't read the comics and they will bash it and complain because they don't understand it
The comics built up everything before getting into the big events. So the movies should do the same.
Here's how I would do the Power Rangers movies. I would take the Guardians of the Galaxy route by risking that the first one is Time Force. Time Force is already popular season even exceeding MMPR. And the general public would be introduced to something new. While time traveling we see cameos of MMPR and Lord Drakkon. If the first movie is a success introduced another PR season (not MMPR) and start making sequels for Time Force. MMPR would be introduced as 3rd or 4th season but would still be Iron Man of Power Rangers. Everything would be building up to a Shattered Grid movie = Infinity War/ Endgame. After Shattered Grid every Power Rangers team gets split up into different universes (yes I am using the comics version). Megaforce/Pirate Hexagon would be created after post Shattered Grid. They would try to fill in the shoes of their predecessors. I would Hunterkiller 1440's version of Megaforce with a twist. The villains would be the remaining of villains throughout the movie universe creating a league of villains.
If that couldn't work then use MMPR and then build up to In Space (or a standalone for in space). But at the same time introduce power rangers seasons that take place in space, the future, or parallel universe ( Lost Galaxy, RPM, SPD, Beast Morphers, Time Force, Dino Charge, Mystic Force, Alien Rangers or 1969 rangers) so as to not contradict MMPR. Once the MMPR-Turbo/Space phase is over we introduce other seasons that we couldn't before. Shattered Grid and Mega Force/ Pirate Hexagon happen the same.
But that's how I would make the Power Rangers Cinematic/ Morphin Universe.
According to new rumors, the movie might be about an original team rather than an MMPR reboot. If that's the case, I'm excited to see how they handle it.

Unpopular opinion: I think the 2017 movie would have been decent as a stand-alone film but failed as a reboot of Jason's team. The characters overall were more interesting, more fleshed out, and (for those who find such things important) more diverse/inclusive than their TV show variants, but they were changed so much--both physically and in their characterization--that they really weren't even the same characters anymore. This, to me, is a problem when a project has source material to draw from; rebooting the story and updating the characters is one thing, but I've never had a problem telling who Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, or Peter Parker are in any given reboot of their stories despite wildly different interpretations from the actors playing them (and the writers behind any given script)--Bruce, Clark, and Peter have always FELT like Bruce, Clark, and Peter. I don't have that here; a few of the characters in this film had a handful of core traits in common with the source material, but others (such as Trini) were so dissimilar that you could describe her to me without using her name and I'd never know who you were talking about in terms of Power Rangers. And while making Zordon a flawed field grunt instead of the wise sage makes him a little more interesting, it also makes the implied connection between "Zordon" and the "Zords" make less sense (the show never stated overtly that the Zords were named after him, but there was always that implication, especially when they changed both "Zoltar" and "Droids" from the unaired pilot to something with similar names). Plus, trying to shove realism into the Zords' origins was laughably bad. "The Zords take the form of the strongest creatures on the planet," but two of them chose forms that wouldn't exist until centuries after their pilots were dead? C'mon, guys, a little basic research goes a long way. This wasn't a problem in the series (where Ninjor made everything long after the fact) or the original sentai series (which was so off-the-wall crazy that you don't expect any sort of historical/scientific realism from things), but it DOES become a problem in this case.
As far as the suits go--in particular, the high heels and "breast armor" on the female suits--I feel like neither was really as egregious as the detractors say, but the defenses the designers gave for them only work for one issue at a time. If you decide that the suits are alien armor that grows out of the skin and molds itself to the wearer's form, the "breast armor" becomes reasonable, but the heels don't make sense. If you use the reasoning of wanting to "feminize" the suit designs in some way (since skirts weren't an option this time) as a way of defending the heels, then you acknowledge that the armor can grow additional pieces and should have been able to create a curved breastplate (which would be more comfortable AND slightly better defense for the wearer) instead of just molding itself to her chest.
And as a side note, I'll agree with the Cinema Sins guy on this point: "coin" is not the first word that enters my mind when seeing the new Power Coin designs, and it's certainly not what I'd call them if I got one out of nowhere and nobody had told me what they were yet (referring specifically to the scene where they're chasing down Trini BEFORE meeting Zordon and getting any explanations about things). "Disc," "geode," or even just "gem" all feel more appropriate to me.
And to be honest, all of the above, to me, are just symptoms of the film's biggest problem: trying to distance itself from its source material as much as possible while still being beholden to it by using all the old names and such. Detaching the film from Jason's team would have saved them from, at the very least, most of the problems *I* have with it, as well as opening up the door for any number of cool/interesting changes. Without the need to stick to any sort of source material, "Zordon" could have been a hologram or full-body construct, still bound to the ship but free to roam about and take a more active role in the Rangers' training (and give Cranston more ACTUAL screen time). "Rita" could have been a different Ranger color than green--maybe SHE was the team's Red Ranger, making it even more impactful when "Zordon" and the others have to take down their corrupted leader instead of just a teammate. They could have made "Kimberly" a female Red Ranger and/or "Jason" a male Pink Ranger. Nobody would have cared that "Goldar" was just a semi-sentient golem if HE WASN'T CALLED GOLDAR. And going back to the "Zords," if it's not Jason's team anymore, they don't have to use those 5 specific animals; they could use different dinosaurs if they wanted, or create 5 alien creature designs, or just 5 non-animalistic vehicles, or literally anything they wanted.
This, to me, is also why the comics (what I've read of them, anyway) are vastly superior to the movie. The comics make the characters more fleshed out and relatable by taking what the show did and building on it; the movie tries to achieve the same goal by basically creating all new characters and attaching the original names to them.
In any case, doing things the way they did made for what I consider an overall bad film. They tried to use the original team's names as little more than a nostalgia grab while changing practically everything about those characters, but at the same time, they were then stuck using imagery and terms that no longer make sense within the altered version of the story. The result not only was a mess, but also opened itself up to criticism by comparison to the original version of things. Had they simply made the movie as its own stand-along thing, the film and its characters would have been judged almost solely on their own merits because there would have been nothing (or, at the very least, LESS) to compare it to, and they would have had more creative freedom when designing the suits, designing the mecha, or handing out colors to the various Rangers.

Make Goldar actually Goldar and the puttys more like they should be. Taking inspiration from boom comics is a good idea. To change it up maybe combine the origin story with the green with evil story. Heck the first 20-30 minutes could be to show how the ranger team first came to be and the rest of the movie would be green with evil. Perhaps after Rita's defeat we get a hint at Lord Zedd for sequel bait.
Give the zords/megazord better designs. I mean I saw some of the zord concept art from the 2017 movie that looked really good. It being made by alien tech is ok but just make them be closer to the classic designs. Don't lean too far into the alien theme like last time.
Make the suits be a perfect bland between the original classic suits and the 2017 suits. A good example of how the suits could work as a mix between the classic looks and the 2017 looks can be seen in this very video. Armor like in the 2017 movie but with the design of the classic suits works really well based on that artwork we see in this video. Basically imagine any power ranger suit but with a more armor-like look while still trying to pull off the classic design. For example I imagined what the Quantum Ranger would look like and it still would look awesome.
Nothing wrong with the suits being more armor-like but it needs to stay close to the recognisable designs people know and love. Just because it is armor doesn't mean it needs to be bulky. If the armor is super highly advanced tech, like it was in the 2017 movie, then it can be super thin form fitting armor. The classic MMPR movie had armor that kept the simplistic classic suit designs but was a bit too bulky and the 2017 movie's armor was too over designed and did away with the classic looks. They were more form fitting though.

In the ranger helmet posters, I love how the Green Ranger's helmet design never really changed. It proves how it's design is unique and nostalgic, thus it doesn't really need anymore additional details.

Paramount owns the distribution/production rights, but not the actual characters. That decision would have to fall to Hasbro and Sega, but it'd be cool to see.

I'm a Filipino. I will never have anything against Tomy fans, and i don't hate Tomy, but i remember actually disliking the original series when the red ranger suddenly get sidelined and given almost no natural development after the green ranger got introduced. I just hope they get to handle it better. Its like they just given up on Jason's Red Ranger just because Tomy was more popular. I just hope, if a reboot does happen, they handle it in a better way.
I think that maybe due to Zyuranger's only real story arc being about the Green Ranger. So, in a way, that flaw carried over. If you want to see the MMPR characters developed better, I reccomend the Boom Studios comics.
@@HesJulioCoolio i think it would have been beter if they ended the season of Mighty Morphin at the end of Zyuranger story line and started a new season for Dairanger. I've seen Dairanger suits and i think it was such a wasted asset that they never used the suits. They look awesome even for the current power ranger suit standard. Also, it could have given space for the other rangers to develop. But...thats just me. About the boon Studio's comics, I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO, but i have no way of accessing it anywhere. Physical Purchase is kind of a tricky option, magazines and comic book overseas shipping aren't really a common thing in the Philippines.

I think this was a good video with some clear and good points. I’m a big fan of power rangers and wished the movie that was released looked more familiar than what we got. But I’d love to see a rebooted power rangers movie. I should also check out those comics

I actually didn't mind the last reboot. There were things I didn't like about it like Goldar and how robotic the suits looked and don't get me started on the transformery zords, but overall it wasn't that bad. Having Rita Repulsa as the green ranger was definitely cool cuz that just ads to the backstory of Tommy getting the green powers from her in the series and why he was evil at first. And I was SUPER EXCITED when they called his name out in class at the end too cuz he's my favorite ranger ever and his green, white and black powers are my favorite powers of all time!

I agree they did a good job on the movie but I also agree that goldar was part of the flop it showed no substance like the monkey version and bringing green ranger into the subjects at the start would definitely help
To me, the last movie failed to capture the heart of Power Rangers. I liked it okay, but didn't like it enough to watch it again. I would love to see them do something that really does the brand justice and builds upon what was great in the old shows.

My only issue with the movie was Goldar and Zord design but other than that this is how you should do a power rangers movie. Make it PG-13 leave some humor and take out all that cheesy shit from the show so you can pull in the adults too. The corny tropes should remain in the show in my opinion and when it comes to the movie take it a lot more serious.

I'd too would love to see the crossovers, but it's important Hasbro set up a successful PR movie before going in this direction. Like I mentioned with the rangers, Goldar should stay close to the source material.

So, I was never a Power Rangers fan as a kid. Just never got the appeal. However, I took my nephew to see the 2017 movie and I freaking loved it. I walked out a fan... of that particular version. In that time, I’ve read the recent comics and have familiarized myself with quite a bit of the lore of the various shows.
While I’m still praying for a sequel to the 2017 one, I’m not completely opposed to a reboot as long as it can keep the idea fresh and still somewhat new like the last one did.
The reboot is basically confirmed by both Hasbro and the cast. I also loved the 2017 movie, but I’m open to a reboot if it can be good.

They can change things up with a reboot. They can market the movie better and add more familiar elements from the show. People now expect to see accuracy in these sorts of reboots.

The 2017 movie was dark and that didn’t work with audiences. People want a Power Rangers movie to be fun and colorful like the show.
I think the MCU is responsible for this shift. Especially since their latter movies, like Endgame, have felt more like the comics. People are now willing to accept the wackier sides of superhero movies.
The next Power Rangers movie which will be made by Hasbro could change its tone to light-hearten and action-oriented tone. No more Lesbian Trini and no more Kryspy Kreme Doughnut Shop.
Power Rangers needs to be bright and flashy and a little campy. I want to be able to bring my 3 year old and have him get pumped with the music and exciting fight sequences.

It's a niche franchise. Flopping is inevitable. Have you seen how many companies have owned the main franchise? Disney owned it and they didn't even know what to do with it. The original theatrical movie flopped and that was during the height of the franchise's popularity. It's like Terminator. No matter what you do, you ain't gonna get butts in seats. It's just too far from the franchises prime. Too many Power Rangers fans took off, and there's not enough new fans to replace the gone.
I think if Hasbro/Paramount can create a movie that sticks to the source while modifying it for modern audiences, it can be successful. Though I get where you're coming from.
Morphers, this is what was missing on the 2017 movie. I prefer a proper morph with morphers instead of some psudo-science way to morph.
Yeah, a lot of people were confused at the lack of Morphers in the movie. Despite the fact they were made for the toys. I think having an actual morph can help this movie stand out among other superheroes who just wear their costumes most of the time.
One potential interpretation of your reboot suggestion would be integrating flashbacks into the storyline. Yes there’s a sixth ranger (green), but part of his development could be his internal battle with his past while growing into his role as a member of the team. Maybe even a little leadership rivalry between Jason and Tommy which initially causes some division within the team. Just a thought though.

I’d also love to see an S.P.D. movie. Heck, Disney nearly made one if it weren’t for the writers strike. But they’ll probably stick to MMPR for the reboot since it’s the most iconic.
I'd say hey the same actors from the last powerrangers movie and have the suit evolve from an alien look to a more modern Earth look (the original suits but with the movie material with some upgrades)

NO! Power Rangers having a crossover with Transformers is one of my biggest concerns with Hasbro buying Power Rangers. I don't want that to happen. That would ruin Transformers for me. That doesn't sound like anything a fan should ever want. People who aren't fans already equate all giant robot fighting shows as being the same thing. My aunt even got me the Magna Defender's zord at one point thinking it was a Transformer. Having them do a crossover would just confuse people even more.
It's already bad enough that Energon Optimus Prime has a design that looks like a Megazord with multicolored vehicles forming his limbs. I don't need any more of that crap.
Transformers are MOSTLY sentient alien robots. There are a few Earth built piloted Transformers like Nemesis Prime and CYLAS in Transformers Prime, the Morbots from Transformers Rescue Bots, and the KSI robots from Age of Extinction.
Zords are MOSTLY piloted mechas and even the ones who are semi-sentient still require the Power Rangers to form the mega zord.
If you know the fiction you know they're far too different from each other to ever co-exist in the same universe. Huge changes would have to be made in order to make that work. And any changes they made to try to connect the two would ultimately end up ruining what made Transformers so popular in the first place.
the wild zords are full sentient and control it self in megazord mode without the rangers.

We heard that the next Power Rangers movie will involve time-travel and it will take place over 20 years after Power Rangers in Space ended and a new group of kids, possibly middle-schoolers ala stranger things until they accidentally sent back in time to the 90s where they meet the original MMPR team.
You’re right on the time travel part, and I think this will be a Hyperforce movie given that and how the suits are similar to MMPR. But we’ll have to wait for more details to see if this is a reunion and reboot or just a hard reboot.

I did enjoy PR 2017. People might say its "not Power Rangers' but then again, RPM was the COMPLETE opposite of MMPR and it is practically the best season out of the whole franchise. The fact that it focused more on the characters for 66% of the movie rather then just giving us tons of fight scenes did help when developing everyone else. Normally other films can only develop one character at a time, which is why the avengers had their own solo films before they teamed up, while other films like the Amazing Spider-Man 2, were criticized for having too many characters to develop at once. And although Zach and Trini did sometimes feel sidelined, they still had their own dynamic and character set up in the film, and how Trini went from being annoyed by Zach, to caring about him (displayed in the hold the line scene). Normally a superhero film that has less fight scenes and more character shit is sometimes boring for me, but whenever I rewatch this movie, I take enjoyment out of the film and when they morph, it feel like they earned it and became a team. Not only that but the soundtrack was AMAZING, I constantly listen to it and I get chills sometimes.
Hopefully Hasbro wont try to make a "woke" reboot

They are 4 reasons why the Power Rangers movie from 2017 became a critical and commercial disaster. 1, The suits and zord designs were horrible and so is Goldar. 2, Audience and fans didn’t care about Power Rangers as an IP brand by Saban. 3, stiff competition with the Live-action rendition of the Disney animated classic Beauty and the Beast, Logan, The Boss Baby and The Fate Of The Furious. 4, the tone was dark and gritty.
