It's not a pop song originally lol. He stole/borrowed the 4 chord progression from a sample of a really old tune called My Woman's intro put his pop beat behind it sang on top of it and made of of the catchiest tunes of all time. The rest is how you say in America History.
Jyoti Mishra is a real cool and nice guy. I once met him in 1991 when my friend and me "toured" the UK in our university holidays. He then wrote little indie pop songs in his house on his Atari ST computer with Guitar, synthies and a 4track machine. How surprised I was when I first heard this song years later and noticed his success. It was so well deserved for Jyoti. We could sleep one night at his house and he even introduced us to his parents who lived some streets away in Derby where he also lived then. On the night he took us to the one and only disco in town and we had a great time dancing to "Dancing Queen". What a man! I still have a photo where he and I sitting on his sofa. Memories...
Not as obsessed as I was. I would listen to this song on constant repeat for between 4 -8 hours each day, every week, months and years. I never missed a single day in over 10 years solid. Now that's obsessive lol ...
This song has something that makes me feel lots of things and brings me back to my aunt's town, where it's always humid, cold and foggy weather and as a teenager I used to listen to this on my discman over and over again! 90's vibes 🥰😍🤩😎🤘🇲🇽
Yeah same! I have some very specific memories associated with this song from my teenage years. Only just today discovered this is sung by a British Indian man. Had always pictured a typical 90s punk white group! Great talent in this one man!
I wondered why this sounded so close to the original until I realised it was the actual creator, kudos! If you watch the original film clip to the song you'll see Jyoti's face on the TV screen in the shop window. This is when I realised it was the same artist. Yes, this song is a true remix masterpiece!
Gabriel M me 2. If we could get white town to do a duet with the 80s group nu shoot with their song I can’t wait. How awesome would that be for a mashup. I wanna see that before I die
JOYA MUSICAL DE LOS 90, NO COMPRENDO POR QUE ESTOS GRANDES MÚSICOS NO PERMANECEN VIGENTES EN LA ESCENA MUSICAL, ME FASCINABA ESA ROLA ... PFFFF QUE TIEMPOS
Reading the comments, I had no idea that this song is from the 90s. I accidentally found this song during an evening of 2012 while I was looking for a song that said in the chorus "your woman" that song was Wild Ones, by Flo-rida. But then youtube showed me this awesome song instead. I'm so glad that happened
This is a example of a perfect pop song , the fact the guy recorded it in his bedroom , an incredible artist , with a interesting vocals .

@@hughgevainey3181in other words: a perfect pop song ;-)
do you know how many songs that original inspired? so many lol@@hughgevainey3181
Very nice! I so love rediscovering my seemingly long lost favorite songs!

You and him know each other personally?
@@islanders1329fan No, not really. We visited him in 1991 and stayed 2 days with him, like "fans". And after that we lost contact...
@@andreeopthof376 Wow. That’s sick.
You actually got to see how this 1997 hit single was made in his home? That’s something
I was so obsessed with this beat back in '97.

Yup, I had no life XD

Too bad he's a commie...
@Scottie Pippen Fan Mishra(the guy performing here) is a commie.

1st time I heard this song I thought it was nu shooz remaking their sing “ I can’t wait”

I never thought White Town is just one person :D
It was a full band until it became a one man act as members left
@@GarbageDayProductions Were they a band when Your woman came out?
Tibb91 nope
@@Tibb91 He did that whole song by himself on an Atari ST computer.
me neither! :D
The backing track and this song will rule forever 🙌
It somehow reminds me so fittingly of the gesture of playing fingertip violins! : )
i like his laugh and smile between ❤🤣
Love how he always gets a laugh and, himself, laughs at the 3.30 - 3-50 part
esta linda canción nunca voy hacer tu mujer White town me acuerdo cuando no había internet fue la mejor canción que se escuchaba nomas por la radio
A grabarla, y que no entre el maldito locutor! :p
Play and record
Muy buena canción!!
Classic!! Love his voice...💗
It's good to see him you play his song.

Keep it in your pants dude
Hermosa cancion
Sonido magnífico
Very best un grande talento e un bell' uomo
Love this song. Sounds like nu shooz I can't wait
It's like the Nu Shooz of the 90's.
I wonder if white town & my shops would do a mash up of this song.
Perfection
Top.
Very good.
FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why aren’t those people dancing?? I’d kill to have a live version to dance too

The ultimate song for the jilted.
it honestly blew my mind whenever I found out the singer was a guy and not a woman who looks like tim curry from rock horror picture show
I like anything that makes a bunch of white boys dance....which is what all of the head bobbing was about - lol!
☕🤟😎❤❤
how come he doesnt gave too many live performances in the 90's?
I was crazy about this track when it was released in 97. But on TV they always just played the black and white music video
Why does it say written by Neil diamond?
Hola, es como una canción de the beatles......
He's a right popstar, isn't he? Such stage presense - 03:31
What's song is the second 00:11
For those who actually love the beat, rather than the actual song?
You can thank Al Bowlly. It's a sample off one of his songs. :) 🎶
❤️
What’s the name of the song he plays accidentally at the beginning?
Is that the only song the guy knows how to play???
Всё классно, но почему нельзя с пульта звук пустить?
Studio version is the best
