Just got a lease on a Jeep Cherokee Limited 2020. LOVE IT!
Very Nice!
Lucky for u
I just bought one of these and I'm so happy about it I still look at it in disbelief that I could ever even own something like this. It's my first new car ever, before this I had a 06 Jeep liberty with 288k miles on it, and before that I had a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Orvis Edition with the 5.2L V8! When I drive it I don't feel like I'm in a jeep, I forget completely about what my car even looks like! It's very dissociative! Sometimes I feel like I'm driving a Subaru outback or something, it's very wagon-esc! But that's okay, because low-center of gravity is what you want to go fast! Perfect daily driver and has enough get-up-n-go to keep you out of trouble if you need it! 4x4 is hella useful as well! This is not an SUV, this is a Jeep Racecar!
Just bought my Cherokee High Altitude and its so sharp looking. I'm loving this car so far and very happy with my purchase. Drives nicely and handles the road well. I live in LA and the freeways are rough, but in this car it feels so smooth the suspension is great. Note to buyers get the V6 engine over the Turbo it has such a better feel and more horse power.
Just got me a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee and love it
just bought the UK version 2.2 Diesel night eagle, best car ive ever owned, chuck it into sports mode and it shifts,
Man this looks nice I miss my Jeep !
The best mid-priced SUV out there, IMO. I traded a '16 Escape Titanium for a '20 Cherokee Altitude with the 2.0 turbo and couldn't be happier. MUCH better gas mileage and performance, and the Cherokee feels so much more "substantial" than the Escape. The doors are heavier and close with a quality "thud", the vehicle is quieter on the road, the seats are much better and the visibility is improved. The final test will be snowy traction this winter. So far, I LOVE IT!!!
Very detailed review thanks
I really like your reviews. Many reviewers only point out the good things about the vehicle, whereas you don't. You mention the flaws as well.
I also experienced the "doink" sort of noise and clunk with the Cherokee transmission that you mentioned in your review when taking your foot off the gas or putting your foot on the gas. I had a 2020 Cherokee from Enterprise with only 16 miles on it when my lemon 2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn was in for one of its many service visits.
I subscribed to your channel, since your reviews point out faults as well as positive attributes of the vehicle. Keep 'em coming. Nice job.
Hey Chris thanks for subbing and welcome! I appreciate the feedback, yes although I try to highlight the good as much as possible...I think people appreciate hearing about the flaws too. There are no perfect cars, all have their good and bad. Trying to hide the flaws does no one good. :).
Great review!!
Close that panoramic sunroof's shade and it'll cut that "car noise". Noticed that with every car I've driven with any sort of sunroof. With the shade open you get more noise even if the sunroof is closed. Almost every review I've seen has commented how quiet the Cherokee for its class.
I love the wheels!
Great design and love the matching color.
I just did some research on the ZF 9 speed used in this and other vehicles. It's a very unusual design employing normal clutch packs and dog clutch between 4-5 and I think 7-8 shifts. This causes some odd but normal behaviors for this design. Basically, the trans needs to go into neutral briefly while the dog clutch aligns between those two different specified gear changes. This can make the trans feel laggy or abrupt at times if caught "off guard" between those shift points. Constant programming updates since introduction have made this better, but still feels different than say GMs in house 9 speed auto. Thanks for the review as I'm looking at the exact vehicle/trim with the exception I'll go with the better torque of the 2.0t.
Have you seen the Cherokee with the Upland trim level? It is a good looking vehicle.
I bought the 2.0 i4 turbo, It's 0-60 feels very impressive, Especially in sport mode.
I wouldn't mind having one because of how capable it is, especially with the 4x4 option and the price. But I feel I sit extremely high in it compared to other cars/suvs. In my sister in laws, I sit high enough where I can't even see the gauges without having to hunker down. Her seats just do not go low enough for me (6 feet).
Excellent review. I am tired of the trendy "blacked out" finish... it is only relieved by the panoramic sunroof.
Is verry good cars im have jeep cherokee 2017 is good car
I love the jeep the only problem I have is the power steering bc It cut out and now i struggle to turn my wheel i bought power steering fluid but their was no nozzle for the power steering help plz
My daughter drives a Trailhawk. There is that bump in the shifting like you described. Also, the passing gear situation is weak when passing at highway speeds. The thing I like about driving it the most is driving around town in parking lots and such. Very nimble.
My sister in law has the Latitude with the 2.4L and 9-Speed. It is okay for her, but for me, I wouldn't like it. Feels too sluggish to me. And the 9 gears is too much for the power train. My mom has a renegade with the same power train and even at 80, it never even reaches that 9th gear because it can barely keep the set speed because of the power output. I think a 6 speed A/T would have been sufficient and maybe would help it seem quicker than what it is. And the transmission in the Renegade is so quirky. Going from Reverse to Drive gives a weird jolt and is super delayed.
What type gas put brand new Jeep Cherokee?
Do jeep use a genuine real leather-wrapped steering wheel?
can you talk about Jeep cherokee 4 cylinder . i bought mine new , now it have 6000 mile and i checked the oil and it lost 2.5 quarts . brand new car , no leak. dealer it telling me this is normal. i am thinking about going after jeep a lot of people complain about this issue.
FYI some states no longer recommend 10 and 2 driving position. The new recommendation is 8 and 4 by the way. So some auto makes have modified their steering columns based on that safety and ergonomic recommendation/protocol.
Good to know! Thanks.
All of that “roundness” you called out in the review is one of the reasons why I chose the Grand Cherokee over the Cherokee.
True. I think the 2001 Cherokee was the last real one. This one looks ok for a Jeep, but in my opinion should not be called Cherokee
Wish there were physical buttons for heated seats. When using Android Auto cannot access the screen
Wow didn't know that!
@@DriversOnly with the updated version of android auto, you can press exit to return to the uconnect system to turn on or off heated / ventilated seats without stopping the music
I had a 2014 and the 9spd zf was awful. Those clunks you felt are normal because of the dog clutch design. I've read they've smoothed it out since launch but, as I saw, it's still not as smooth as the GC's 8spd.
I agree, GC's 8 spd is much better than the 9 spd.
As soon as I saw that this Cherokee has a mandatory Stop/Start engine, for both the 4 cyl and 6 cyl, I decided to take this vehicle off my list of cars to buy for 2021.
Most cars have stop/start...I don't like it either, You can go into screen settings and disable it permanently or disable it using the button under the uconnect display.
It's not a big deal. I have it on my Grand Cherokee. I actually like not wasting gas at stoplights. Plus, it's very easy to bypass it, by not pressing the brake all the way.
Lol you can turn it off
How much is it
The steering wheel is cute. You can see the collaboration with fiat. Has a panda or 500 touch.
My mom’s last two Jeep Cherokee’s have been recalled as being lemons and now she doesn’t know what to get. Because of her business she needs a lot of cargo space... should she try another Cherokee or should she go with the Highlander? We are all so confused.
Sorry to hear. This video should help ua-cam.com/video/YfF8dPQTkE0/v-deo.html
If you need cargo space, get the GRAND Cherokee. It's such a nice car. I bought a used '16, and I am blown away by the smoothness, features, power and space. It's actually a lot more nimble that I was expecting (came from a compact SUV). So glad I went with the GC.
WE ARE ALL GEORGE !
The dash has buttons, not buns.
Good review but dude you are not in the Autobahn just because something says sport mode doesn't mean you automatically drag race LOL.
Does not have direct injection. So no worries about carbon buildup like you get with competitors. My Volkswagen plugs up with carbon on after 50000 km.
The lower mechanical climate controls do not have the ability to control the same functions as the touch screen. IMO, not well thought out and a huge distraction to the driver.
You cut out the Overland. You can barely see the roof near the bottom left
There is no Overland trim for 2020. High Altitude is the top Cherokee now.
ARich not in Canada 🙌. There’s 1 2020 Cherokee overland at one of our dealerships here
The mute button is so awkward. It should only be on the digital display screen.
The head room is terrible in this car. I picked the compass over this car.
I have to say, watching this review makes the Grand Cherokee seem like a no brainer. It's similarly priced, even a little less expensive depending on which trims you're looking at, and seems to address almost everything wrong with the Cherokee.
100% correct. The Grand Cherokee is fantastic and in my opinion way better than the regular Cherokee. ua-cam.com/video/E_wuXaxk5y0/v-deo.html
@@DriversOnly Don't worry, I watched that video first hahaha. I actually bought a Grand Cherokee limited a few months ago with the v6 and watch these reviews just to validate my purchase hahaha. Out of curiosity would say that the acceleration in the v6 Grand Cherokee is better than the acceleration in the v6 Cherokee, or about the same?
Thug life @ 14:58
It never shifts to 9 th gear. At 40 you’ll be in 5th or 6th
I have been in 9th gear while going 85mph.
Dillon H strange it’s never gotten in 9th I have the v6 and gotten it over 118 mph
@@fallguy4209
Maybe you were pushing it hard? I was just cruising, set on cruise control, 4 cylinder rental. Also I think it skips some gears sometimes so counting the shifts isn't always accurate.
Mine never gets to 9th. 19 limited V6
the cherokee is a crossover, it sits on a car chasis and not a truck chasis, like an SUV.
I hope it's not a oil guzzler like my 2016 jeep Cherokee latitude 2.4l 🤭🤭😞😪😟
I really hate The front grille like it makes me want to puke 🤪😅 but the 2020 looks like something I’d like to get!
اللهم إرزقنا
Ah, the infamous ZF nine-speed transmission...................no thanks.
I just bought a 2019 Cherokee with the 2.4. I don't get what all the hate for the 9 speed is. Maybe they have made some improvements I can't say cause I have never driven the older ones, but once it learned my driving and adjusted how it shifted it it has been good.
@@dav8388
In 2019 it was fixed. After the break-in period it is a fantastic transmission now.
Just say you hate the truck lol... you found every negative thing to say about this vehicle lol
The oldest cheerokee's design is better😒🙂
I DEEPLY REGRET buying my 2020 Cherokees. Learn from my MISTAKES. My 1st 2020 Cherokee was a lemon and my 2nd 2020 Cherokee was not built right and neither Jeep or the selling dealer Bob Poynter Columbus will make it right . BUYER BEWARE do NOT BUY a Cherokee or trust a Jeep dealer. Just Empty Every Pocket is a TRUE acronym.
Why. Can you give us more details.
@@yomocute9403 The 1st one was a lemon and was bought back so no reason there to explain. The second was a North Edition and was not built to North specs even though I was charged for it . The dealer had promised to help get it straightened out. However 10 months later and now that they have my money they will not even return a call. Jeep and FCA are worthless on the subject as as I have filed 12 cases on this.
Por atrás esta horrible
If certain people have their way the name Jeep Cherokee will no longer be allowed.
How sad---
Mercy me, can it be
they're pulling the plug
on Jeep Cherokee
No way Renee*
I can't say No way Jose, since I fear that might be cultural appropriation (is that the silly term?)

This man complained so much. Nearly every thing bothered him. Disliked
Sorry but I felt there was a lot of things to address. Try checking out my other reviews that ste more positive.
