The idea that Shaun tried to end everything only two years ago really makes me sick to my stomach. I've listened to his music on a weekly, sometimes daily basis for 10 years+ and the thought that he couldn't cope/was hurting too much just makes me want to punch past all this you're famous and I'm a fan and reach out as a human that just gives a shit and ask what we can do to try and even just momentarily change your mind frame. I don't know if it would help at all but it's worth trying everything. I wish my friend had told me she was suicidal two years ago, I would have done anything to not let her leave this world.
Yeah it is a very tough issue to deal with. My brother I never knew was suicide and killed himself.I never knew he had any suicidal thoughts. I wish he just would have sat down and talked to me. Suicide never gets rid of their problems it just gives them to someone else.
I met Shaun in 2005 after a show in Atlanta. I'd just gotten through cancer treatment. I wanted to tell him his music kept me sane. However, I just babbled. Still love him. My favorite band for always. His music speaks to me.
His music writing hits home because people can relate to being down , being held down , the sad realities of exposure to the human problem - that people are messed up
Shaun Morgan is a saint. I don't think he's truly been told nor shown how his music has helped save so many people. His melodic voice & heartfelt guitar notes have spoken directly to the hearts of so many wounded souls. And to think he tried to commit suicide is horrific on so many levels. God bless this man. Hang in there Shaun. You are a blessing.
It's sad and disturbing to know the first time I saw Seether in 2015, Shaun was ready to end his life. It didn't show at the time. I was worried after I saw him again in Philly in 2017. He seemed really down, and Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington had just committed suicide. Their deaths saturated the news that summer, and I was afraid it would get to him. It doesn't seem to occur to Shaun how deeply loved and valued he is, which is frustrating. Depression is fucking cancer.
Very well said, friend! Very well said. Chris & Chester are missed every single day by millions. Shaun is loved and cherished every single day by millions.
I love Shaun Morgan he's amazing singer song writer and much more. I pray to god literally he doesn't kill him self the world needs Shaun Morgan he's saved so many people with his music. I hope to see him in Fresno this Oct
I love seether so much! Shaun Morgan is such a great guy , so talented! crazy how he says he tried to kill him self!! with pills..hes accomplished so much epically with the rise above fest!
Shaun's music helped me save my own life, I seen them live 3weeks ago,I'd like to thank shuan, and the rest of Seether for their amazing music. You guys helped more than you'll ever know
"I saw a band called mango groove. Probably the most uncool first concert story ever." He just talks and he's so naturally funny 😂 Gah Shaun is so cool.
seether is my number one ! fav band !! Love from Australia shaun!! It's amazing how each human is alike & through his music i have been taken out of unideal mental health states like depression. When the world has bogged me down or anything i listen to seether
@@jayjamato9850 Oooh...where?!? I actually paid the $200 for a Meet and Greet ticket to a show just to be in his presence for a second. Would be cool to just run into him randomly somewhere.
OMG! Fellow South African here. Yes, we all know Mango Groove and Claire. That really gave me giggle. Shaun, I still think Rise Above This and Tonight are some of the best rock songs out there.
One of my favorite SixxSense shows. I love Seether. So glad Shaun is still putting out new music. Not a bad idea, even being a joke, of Nikki and Shaun in a band. Add a new element to Sixx A.M. or a whole new side project.
I didn't know what could make me like these 2 guys more? But after watching and listening to the way Shawn and Nikki talk about how they feel on different issues and people in society today, struck a GOOD nerve with me. Because it's almost identical to how I feel!!! Serious!! I'm not just saying this to prove what a big fan I am. But the way Shawn gets so irritated when talking about these worthless-no-talent-godless-liars: that mislead our youth in horrible directions!!! (I need to stop that now). But anyway... Thank You for the video!! It really helped me with some things I been dealing with. It's good to hear when someone like Nikki Sixxx and Shawn Morgan talk about dealing with the same kind of depression and things as I do. It's things like this that actually help me get out of bed some days. So thank You again!!!
To hear Shaun say Thrice amd Highly supsect is reassuring to me. Loved both of those bands as soon as I heard them. Immediately looked them up and still a huge fan to date.
I hope Shaun stops trying and doesn't succeed in killing himself. Seether is one of my favorite bands mostly because of the connection I feel with Shaun. He's so talented even if the stupid industry tells him otherwise.
Reading through the comments on this I kinda feel a little bit special because I was around in the Johannesburg rock and club scene in the late 90`s and got not only to see Saron Gas play many times but also got to meet and play many games of Pool against Shaun at various venues in Johannesburg and Pretoria, I also was so very lucky to get in to a nightclub in a town called Edenvale called The Doors Nightclub to see their final gig as Saron Gas before they packed up and shipped out to the U.S to become Seether...a very very special place to be at a very very special point in time... I`m so damn proud of what they have accomplished over the last 20 years since leaving the broken wasteland that is South Africa!
I am 58 and they are one of my favourite bands, the 1st song i ever heard on the radio was Driven Under and it is still one of my faves, they are one of those rare bands who NEVER fail to deliver and i have yet to hear anything of theirs I havnt liked . . . keep it up Seether and Shaun . . . I LOVE you xx

Now I hear from Shaun that they criticized his songwriting and I just think that is ridiculous. He writes great lyrics, great riffs, and he can do hard songs to softer emo ballads. Screw them. A father and son band who eats people with Hello Kitty floating in formaldehyde. I can only how many times the other Crue members had to say, "No Nikki. That's disturbing". Hahahha. Great interview, BTW.
Zwhoever told him his writing sucks is a complete idiot! Amazing songwriter and so glad that I, years after they came out, finally gave Seether a listen. The music has serious long term staying power, be proud of that.
I love Nikki and Shaun.. I just want to add that Shaun's brother committed suicide in 2007 in the city I live in now. Rapid City, SD. He jumped out of his hotel window on the 8th floor. Seether played that night in Sturgis, SD (about 35 miles away from Rapid City) and I believe Seether has never returned anywhere close to the area since. :(

He's definitely helped hold rock together or still make it relevant.
