I had a 2007 LaCrosse, and yeah it was a lot different in a lot of ways, but it was still a LaCrosse. I wasn't looking for an American Accord or Camry, nor an American Mercedes, though I did expect a well built, reasonably luxurious and (subjectively) good-looking car. I wasn't disappointed. It was quiet, elegant, smooth-riding, adequately powerful, and had luxury features as standard that were optional or not available on competitive models. It was also perfectly reliable. I didn't have a single problem with it in the two years and 40,000 miles or so I put on it. Leather seats, remote start, dual-zone climate controls, heated seats and steering wheel, power everything, on and on.
Hey mr tech guy just bought one yesterday it DOES!! have A2DP Bluetooth streaming and you don't have to touch the screen ever.I didn't realize it was a touch screen until the dealer showed me right before I left the lot.I can use the steering wheel or voice commands for most functions then I have the Acura like plethora of buttons for the rest.if you like tech this is a great option its geared towards younger buyers that love star trek, star wars, and knight rider im 35 I love them all.
decent review overall. but I believe they're being a tad bit condescending when it comes to the overall review of the quality and detail to styling, which GM actually did a decent job with this time. this car may not be at the top of its class, but it offers plenty to be competitive.
I was thinking of getting a Buick LaCrosse but thanks to this review, I am reconsidering it. Definitely don't want a car in which I have to bend over too far to touch the screen or a car with poor visibility from the windows.
I test drove several cars, including Chevy Impala and Malibu, and Buick LaCrosse ans Regal. I settled on a 2015 Hyundai Azera, and I'm very happy with the tech, power, warranty, handling, etc. Android Auto enhances the tech package well.
I was going to get this car until I realized I would have to lean forward to press buttons. Wait, I think I do that now. I mean bedsides Yoda, most people reach for things? are there people who dont have to reach for things, (besides Yoda). this is a whole new level of 1st world problems I did not know I needed to worry about.
What I didn't realize about this car is its a gigantic Prius with leather (4cyl hybrid) it has no exhaust.I'm truly in love with this car.as for the car it looks like it was designed by the Chinese translated to American taste.its a cross between a new Hyundai/mid 90s Riviera inside and I mean this in a good way.Where the hell is all that power coming from It has 182hp gas+15hp elec.it prefers the city with lots of stops to regenerate and use its battery as much as possible.
No. It's an entry-luxury car, like the other front drive entry-luxury products like the Lexus ES and Acura TL, the competitors to this car. BUT...I'm not the one who gave the car that award, US News did, or Auto Times, so let them know they titled it incorrectly if you feel that way.
I realize this is an older thread, but what tires are on everybody's lacrosse so there isn't so much road noise. I have a 2016 lacrosse w 20" tires and the road noise is horrendous. I have the potenza 980as tires
To say the Lacrosse doesn't look good is pure hate. I saw one of these on the road today in crystal Red. IT WAS FUCKING GORGEOUS. Even in pics it looks fine.
my new car i pick up this week but of course in a diff color both ex and interior and yes i agree the hood vents are tacky lol but hey i really love this vehicle visibility was fine for us! Love all your reviews
This is a NERD/TECHIES car granted we typically buy acuras.I didn't even notice this car.I went to a GM dealership to buy a used BMW.I had a few domestics in the past though.this has all the goodies remote start,HUD,the Harman Kardon alone sold me.Chinese influence shines through on the head and taillights. It looks very Buck Rogers Cylon in the rear. The interior has a blue led strip that looks just like the starship enterprise main deck.Best of all it feels high quality BUICK outdid itself.A+
Right, it's new for 2013. This was the first year for intellilink, so they were testing the waters. Evidently now they realize they could integrate both. Look up Buick changes for 2013; or try intellilink for 2013.
I couldn't agree with you more. What the hell? Everyone who drives, or owns this car has, praised it up one side and down the other. And THIS is his review? lol.
He said that the "navigation was up there with BMW and Toyota" and I have both of those car brands and the nav in my 3 GT is amazing but a 2015 sienna's navigation is abhorrent. It's terrible. I don't think they've updated it since the 2005 sienna. It's really that bad.
How ironic? My imports were junk. Audi, BMW, bought both new, both ended up junk. I bought the Lacrosse after my BMW, which was only two years old, died on the freeway. I then talked to two people who owned Buicks, one with 248,000 miles, and another with 170,000, both had nothing but praise. So far I'm not regretting my purchase and it's been a few years.
My grandmother just bought one of these things. I drove it around yesterday. The reviewer covered most of the pros and cons pretty well. I don't remember him mentioning the side rear-view mirrors; they are awful. They are shaped in a bizarre way that makes it difficult to see on the passing lane. Then those damn pillars are gigantic, making changing lanes a bit frightening. Visibility sucks, which is not the idea situation for my granny. The console inside is nice. Styling is hit and miss.
I think the refresh helped out the design of this car. Or if you got this car with the uplevel HID Xenon headlights instead of halogens it looks a lot better
I have a 2007 lacrosse with 150k km and damn is it better than these pos'. The engine is a NA 3.8L V6 with 200HP. These engines were bulletproof. GM should have never gotten rid of that engine.
This guy is brilliant. Have you ever seen any other reviewer essentially flip the car off. Mr. Tell It Like It Is, I salute you sir. First honest review I have seen in a long time.
I did not know you couldnt get Navi and intellilink at the same time. Boo on GM. I would rather go back to my 06 TSX 4 cyl for those two features. I think a 2012-13 TSX is back on my radar.
I enjoy the new Buick's, most of the time admittedly, but not being able to really pair my phone with my car and instead having to do my calls and directions through OnStar would kill the deal for me. I drive a 2015 Cruze now and it pairs with my phone effortlessly. I don't have turn by turn nor does it support Android, but I just plug my Android into the auxiliary jack to let me phone do the work of directions and my music player piped through the stereo. I can understand that whoever the manufacturer is, they can't possibly tell who they're making a car specifically for so they have to include all the electronics and sometimes make bad choices in doing so. But I'd very much rather save a few bucks, go with a serviceable system and let my cell phone do the heavy lifting of streaming music, music player and turn by turn directions. Then you don't have the choices like this Buick forces you to make...
Wrong. This review is old. Navi and Intellilink do come together now. I own the car and have both. It's not cheap though. It's an extra $895 (I think).
The 2nd, 3rd and 50th opinions have come in the form of compliments we've gotten from the car itself. Guess everyone has their own likes and dislikes. BUT, one thing across the board that you'll see from practically anything you read puts this car not looking beautiful or photographing well in the minority.
I have blue tooth and nav in my premium 3 Lacrosse. I do not want something projected on my windshield. And yes the port holes fake or not belong on a Buick!
This guy is very anti buick??? Looks as good and drives as good as anything else in its class 😉? I have one and love ❤️ it. No problems? So far.? just love american large ⭕ sudens may they make a comeback soon ? Suvs ?are becoming boring ? Just a comment 😄.??.
I'd imagine he's allowed to say what he wants because CNET is one of the most respectable reviewing..things there is for technology, and if CNET wants to move into auto's, they should have an entertaining host that isn't afraid to completely bash a car. And even if he does bash a car, it's CNET, who has heard of them giving something an inaccurate review? Correct me if i'm wrong but it's the gutsy-ness of CNET that keeps them so popular, and if something isn't up to par, they will surely say it.
Such a one-sided ridiculous review it should be flagged as inappropriate. My God, a car that's received so much praise since its arrival is getting knocked down by this bag of bias? Please!
It's my car, too. Won the luxury car of the year award for 2012, garners all kinds of attention, gets compliments wherever we go with it, gets great remarks from almost all other professional reviewers---then you have this fool (lol) whose taste is clearly questionable, and he isn't worth listening to.
MGTOW KANE It's mostly due to safety regulations set forth by the Federal Government. To make the roof stronger, they had to use bigger pillars thus ruining sight.
I remember when I was young my parents had a Buick and Toyota and they constantly had to fix the damn Buick while the Toyota just run like a charm.....no thank you Buick.
LOL Cnet must have erased my comment but there is ALOT of misinformation here. I wouldn't recommend this review for this car. I had a 2011 and my lease just ended. The only reason I haven't replaced it with the new model is that the dealership couldn't offer me a good lease return incentive since the redesigned 2014s cost a lot more. This is hands down one of the finest cars you can get from GM. I like Pooley but he didn't do his research on this one. You may want to test drive one first and formulate your own opinion.
I've always hated the pillars in cars, even normal sized A pillars can obscure things like pedestrians, why can't they design a very slim pillar, I'm sure there's a suitable high strength Al or Ti alloy, maybe use some scaffolding structure (think avian bone structure)
My GOD, you have bad taste. My wife and I, in our 30's, have this car. It doesn't photograph beautifully? Have your eyes checked. The portholes? We love them. Imagine the hood without them. Blah. They look great, the car looks great. We get plenty of compliments on them. And you don't need Intellilink AND Nav--the OnStar nav is more than helpful. We use it everyday. Your reviews need a second opinion.
What are you talking about? Most brands which you consider "imports" are now made in American factories and even if they weren't, not buying American cars wouldn't hurt the 14 trillion+ dollars worth of debt America is in.
GM doesn't have a V6 engine worth a FUCK. Infiniti's M37 has a great V6. I'm not sure how it's reliability is, but it's way more powerful than the V6 GM has stupidly put in everything from the XTS on down.
We've had a LaCrosse since 2010; there haven't been any problems with ours.
You might as well cross your fingers and listen for the crunch LMAO
my dad bought a 2013 buick lacrosse with the V6 and it's really nice! The only bad thing is the visibility, but other than that it's great
Omg so true
I just bought a mint condition 2010 with 20k mile’s incredible visibility is trash tho lol
My 2012 LaCrosse is used everyday and has 33580 original miles. I love my car!!
I am 28. I don't know why I want to drive this car. It is beatiful.
90s Buick please comeback
Hey mr tech guy just bought one yesterday it DOES!! have A2DP Bluetooth streaming and you don't have to touch the screen ever.I didn't realize it was a touch screen until the dealer showed me right before I left the lot.I can use the steering wheel or voice commands for most functions then I have the Acura like plethora of buttons for the rest.if you like tech this is a great option its geared towards younger buyers that love star trek, star wars, and knight rider im 35 I love them all.
"listen for the crunch"? Lol Cooley! You're the man!
decent review overall. but I believe they're being a tad bit condescending when it comes to the overall review of the quality and detail to styling, which GM actually did a decent job with this time. this car may not be at the top of its class, but it offers plenty to be competitive.
love my Buick
This guy is so anti Buick he screams it!
I was thinking of getting a Buick LaCrosse but thanks to this review, I am reconsidering it. Definitely don't want a car in which I have to bend over too far to touch the screen or a car with poor visibility from the windows.
I remember when Shaq did a commercial in one of these right after he retired.
that's his opinion; those vents look great, stop finding stuff wrong so you'll have something to talk about
I can't explain why, but I like this car.
I test drove several cars, including Chevy Impala and Malibu, and Buick LaCrosse ans Regal. I settled on a 2015 Hyundai Azera, and I'm very happy with the tech, power, warranty, handling, etc. Android Auto enhances the tech package well.
Those pillars are thick on any gm product that has them. With time you get used to them but I just wish gm would make them a bit thinner. Great review
I was going to get this car until I realized I would have to lean forward to press buttons. Wait, I think I do that now. This buick still screams old person car unlike recent Cadillacs
No. It's an entry-luxury car, like the other front drive entry-luxury products like the Lexus ES and Acura TL, the competitors to this car. BUT...I'm not the one who gave the car that award, US News did, or Auto Times, so let them know they titled it incorrectly if you feel that way.
Intellilink has bluetooth streaming, just push the more> button. There, you will find MORE buttons, bluetooth among them.
Well, I just bought a 2013 LaCrosse Touring and it has the intellilink with navigation, you got the base model, don't expect a lot from that
How’d the car hold up for you?
I can't believe you used your arms to get your point across, never would have thought you'd do that on this channel
I realize this is an older thread, but what tires are on everybody's lacrosse so there isn't so much road noise. I have a 2016 lacrosse w 20" tires and the road noise is horrendous. I have the potenza 980as tires

Ever since they came out with this Ive been waiting for them to release a new lucerne
my new car i pick up this week but of course in a diff color both ex and interior and yes i agree the hood vents are tacky lol but hey i really love this vehicle visibility was fine for us! Love all your reviews
Greenz nThingz do you still have this car? I'm tryna find a car for college thanks.

actually the buick regal is the one that's similar to the insignia not the Lacrosse.

Oh man those bonnet vents...
The Buick LaCrosse is basically a European Opel Insignia :) It is European tech, hence kind of an import :)
Thanks. Thorough review. Shouldn't the poor visibility due to the A-Pillar disqualify this car from purchase?
Legends watching after 10 years🤣🤣
try 11
You guys should do a NEW review, the 2015 is AMAZING!!!!!
Just bought the 2015!!! Runs like a dream
@@luispadilla8329 My 2015 is still going strong, I have 123,000km on it, get oil changes on time etc...
It actually started beeping for no reason would you have any idea why it’s doing that?
@@luispadilla8329 Never happened to me, get to the Buick Dealer and have them check it out!!! It could be something simple...
Right

You realize, GM owns holden right.
I cant believe a civic has more hp than this!
where,s the sound?
young consumers (which buick are trying to target now a days) know what under-steering is!
My 2012 buick camera is not on
Buick ten years ago, perhaps. Buick today, not a chance. Get with the times young'un.

nothing about how well it absorbs bumpy pavement? direct injection engines have extra maintenance requirements for the valve train.
Wrong. This review is old. Navi and Intellilink do come together now. I own the car and have both. It's not cheap though. It's an extra $895 (I think).
does this car has the gm hiperstrut ?

It's called adblock. Google it. Download it. Install it.

buick has plumeted since the late 90's cause they have dropped basically all there models
THUMBS UP if you LIKE the interior style!!!
I love this car go lacrosse
DIS IS THE TWUNNYTWULVE LAKROOAASE
It's a car with poor visibility that's geared for senior citizens? No thanks Buick.
It s tops in China. I saw Buicks there all over. People love them even against
BMW, Mercedes

Gosh the 2.4 in this car is so sluggish. Its like driving a big ASS boat with a fiat 500 motor
its a base mid sized sedan, what do you expect?
Gm will never get the visibility thing right will they ?

Yep, you are right :) My mistake :)
shouldve got the V6, 6.0s, and it has bluetooth streaming, base model yes, canada
when did you find out about that? Is that for 2013 or something, cuz it's not in the 2012 model.
Where's the 2014 lacrosse review?
These things are not Buick anymore... Just a Chinese designed plastic box with a small plastic engine.... miss Ol' days

Find a new job bro it's obvious u jus dont like Buick
This guy will make hate cars with good reason. I love this guy! Lol

Buick is still seen as an old peoples brand.
