Dynamo Kyiv won the trophy overcoming Utrecht, Universitatea Craiova, Rapid Wien, Dukla Prague and Atlético Madrid. That team was coached by Valeri Lobanovsky. Igor Belanov and Oleg Blokhin were the team and the tournament topscorers, with 5 goals.

Back then the players had state salaries and won trophies, nowadays billions are poured into this team and the players have huge salaries but the team is weak on international level. What a paradox.
Maybe we should return to state salaries?
