      @@ramadanhalili762 Blokhin was very stable. This is not to say, that he was the best in the world. But he was indeed very stable - this is shown by statistics. Another thing is that after 1975 people expected sometimes too much from him and when expectations didn't fulfill, they said: Blokhin went down. In such a way he was blamed for the fail of the whole Soviet team in Olympics, 1976 - not only by fans, but also by governmental people. They even wanted to withdraw his honors (such as 'Honored Master of Sports'). Also he could not change his team even though sometimes things went wrong in Dynamo after 1975. So, all this didn't add motivation, however Blokhin managed to remain stable.

      @@ramadanhalili762 You do know that Blokhin won an UEFA SuperCup and two UEFA Cup Winners Cups, in addition to the Golden Ball? And no one is talking 10-minute clips, I watched most of his career up close from the stadium. Blokhin also won 8 USSR Premier League titles and USSR league was always a top 10 league. And, in mid-70s and mid-80s, USSR Premier League was a top 4 league.
      Boniek was average. Blokhin was supreme and could do everything on the pitch. Attack, defend, pass, slide tackle. That was how Lobanovsky's Total Football worked - you had to attack as a team and defend as a team.

    • @basylpeterjones
      @basylpeterjones 2 роки тому

      How could it not have been a big league? It had a population as much as 270m with its best players, in the '70s and '80s, when Soviet football was properly developed, divided among a few leading clubs in the various republics and Russian ones. And Western Eurooean leagues had mainly domestic players then. I'd say it would have been the world's strongest league in Blokhin's era.

    • @SuperAttitudeera
      @SuperAttitudeera 2 роки тому

      @@basylpeterjones Soviet league was shit just like Soviet football in total. Not a single world cup or Champions league among the soviet clubs says everything you need to know. '86. WC was the only time they had a decent team.

    • @SuperAttitudeera
      @SuperAttitudeera 2 роки тому +1

      It's not "a so called big league" because Serie A has 3 clubs that won European cup/Champions league multiple times while Russians have zero. Some of the greatest players ever played in the league and lets not talk about the traditionally high level italian defensive systems. So yeah it's a big difference playing in a high level league and a farm league.
      Shevchenko>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Blokhin

    • @basylpeterjones
      @basylpeterjones 2 роки тому

      @@SuperAttitudeera For a start, Soviet Union weren't "Russians". It was mainly Russians until the '70s but then the other republics emerged; the real Soviet Union was the '70s and '80s, into the early '90s with the CiS team of Euro'92. Russia would effectively been a Soviet Union team at USA'94 but six of the players were refusniks. Georgia's Dinamo Tbilisi emerged with a great team in the mid-'70s and Dynamo Kiev were the main supplier to the USSR squad throughout that era - but the Russian players were spread around several clubs, so it was much more competitive than other European leagues; lots of republics produced great teams. The USSR produced far more world-class players than Italy and I can't agree with your European Cup argument: no Italian club won the European Cup in that era relying on Italian players. There was only Juventus who won the fixed final at Heysel, but had world-class imports, and the Milan teams at the end of that era.
      The Soviet Union was known as "The Friendly Champions" due to being so good in friendlies and qualifiers but not winning tournaments: it was always packed with some of the world's best players, dominating games.

    In Italia avrebbe fatto sfracelli, purtroppo il regime sovietico non permetteva ai suoi calciatori di andare all'estero.
    Il primo fu Zavarov alla Juve solo nel 88.
    Un vero peccato perché era un fenomeno, uno specie di Shevchenko ma fisicamente più potente.

      Was Shevchenko better? I am not sure. Shevchenko would have never won the Goilden Ball if he hadn't played for Milan. Imagine if Blokhin could play abroad... As far as I am concerned, as a person who watched both Blokhin and Shevchenko, I can tell you, Blokhin was a far better player than Sheva.
