Greetings My Friend! Wonderful tune, wonderful playing. . .so glad seeing 'you' and your playing HERE. I look forward to hearing more of your lively, inspired playing. (Sadly, most of the Latin selections are NOT available here in The U.S.A....and I have always favored Latin Rhythms and Tunes...always filled with passion and excitement...whether slow, medium or fast tempos!)
Tony, can tell me if you can hear any difference in stock 12- tone wheel Hammond X-66 as compared to the X-66's with a Trek Transposer ( knob to adjust up 3 half steps or up 4 half steps)? Everyone says that electronically there is nothing different about the Trek, but I want to know from someone who can hear as well as you can:) I know that maybe you have not played the Trek equipped X-66 organ, but thought I might ask you anyway. On my X-66 it has the Trek Transposer and although the organ sounds amazing I notice that the ONLY draw bar that has a little bit of the classic tonality of the traditional Hammond tone wheel organ is the 8' draw bar pulled out by itself and notes played on the middle octave especially. I am wondering if on an original 12- tone wheel X-66 if more than the 8' middle octave has that original tonality of the tone wheels, or does it just sound the same as what I described as ONLY the 8' middle octave. I am completely aware that an X-66 has virtually no sound like the original Hammond tone wheel organs because the 12 tone wheels are distorted into square waves and are THEN converted INTO sine waves. Regardless, I just want to know if the Trek Transposer differs in any way in the TONE of the organ compared to the original 12- tone wheels. Thanks so much and please more playing. I love your style! :-) -Paul J. Columbus,Ohio USA
