The best melodic ballad of the Rolling Stones. Nostalgia for my childhood, my dad loved this song, old lada, cassette recorder, wheezing speakers and magical foreign voice from them...
First of all, this is such a beautiful song; second, it's a classic not "only" for this reason, but also because it's just something quite different from those kinds of things such a legendary band like Stones had ever done! And one of the reasons why they're legendary is that they can always surprise you! So, keep on reacting to Stones and get ready to be surprised many other times! By the way, these would be interesting songs to react to: "Jumpin' Jack Flash"; "I can't get no satisfaction"; "Sympathy for the Devil"; "It's only rock'n roll but I like it"; "Start me up"; "Let's spend the night together", and so on, and on, and on...
How many memories of youth, it came out in 1973 I was twelve but when I heard it for the first time it fascinated me. In my country, radio stations have never stopped playing it. Iconic , and people say dedicated to Angela or Angy Bowie. Great choice for the most long-lived ballad of their majesties the Rollings. Thanks for your reaction❤ Keep on rocking
Its hard to believe the lead singer Mick Jagger just turned 80. He still is an awesome entertainer. I also recommend Miss U, Street Fighting Man, and Beast of Burden. Great reaction Biss!! ❤👏
Because you just watched Band of Brothers, it may be a great time to listen to their anti-war song Gimme Shelter Over time it really has become something like the most used vietnam war movie soundtrack song. But rarely young people ever listened to the whole song. It is very powerful and iconic. Another song, that I would highly recommend is "Sympathy for the Devil".
Lovely reaction, Biss! This is a great song and I think you enjoyed it a lot! Before you are done with the Stones you need to make sure you react to "Wild Horses" and "She's A Rainbow"! They are both some of the softer songs of this hard rocking band!
The Stones are the best from hard rock to ballads and everything in between. Not as bombastic as LZ or pop as The Beatles but to those of us who get it we have been blessed for over 6 decades.
Bisscute, you are my absolute favorite music reaction person. You sincerely listen AND understand the meaning of the songs... the truth is obvious in your eyes. :)
In 1993, in an interview for the liner notes to the Rolling Stones' compilation album Jump Back: The Best of The Rolling Stones, Richards said that the title was inspired by his baby daughter.
Hard to go wrong with arguably the greatest rock band of all time!!! A fun one would be Hang Fire. Great reaction Biss! Looking forward to your next reaction. Always puts a smile on my face. Thanks for that. 😊
Love the reaction young lady, how you weighed the song up. I recently played the song on my acoustic guitar for my friend who's wife is called angie.keep up with the reactions please do more bowie.
Wow The Stones Miss Bisscute have A slew of Hits and was one of the Longest Running Bands To stay together for well over 50 Years I believe !!! as Always the Like Button 🔘 has been Illuminated !!! And for A Short list of Suggestions 😁👍👍🌴🏝️ 1) Far away eyes 2) Start Me up 3) Honky tonk woman 4) I can't get no ( Satisfaction ) 5 ) Beast of Burden Please know there are many more these were off the Top of my head & I am not sure of Any you have already reacted To !!! 😎👍
A friend of mine dated a guy whose mother dated a legendary 70s rock star before she married his father. In fact, his mother was mentioned in two iconic 70s hits (one of which included a description of her body). When my friend went to meet her boyfriend's mother for the first time, she noticed the physical attributes mentioned in the song were still intact in the 90s.
Hearing this back again after so long... I've just worked out what is going on. As a Divine Masculine, he is supposed to be able to provide for his Divine Feminine. Especially back when this song was written. It was typically one income households. In the lyrics it is clear he feels he is failing and opts to step aside. As he can't fulfill his duty. It's hard to express in a simple way... but it comes down to lack of self worth on his part. A truly embodied Divine Masculine would never feel like a failure... and stick it out for a better future. In his mind here, he is doing what is best for her.
This is one of those songs you listen to on your way home from a lonely night in one of those hole in the wall bars and you just end up parking somewhere and crying yourself to sleep in the car. Never been there myself, but that's what comes to mind. 😁
Rick Beato, the guy with the large music channel on youtube, loves this song. It's a great one, and outside the box for The Rolling Stones, who lean hard rock. .
Probably one of my top five favorite rolling Stones songs off this album. Is the classic and so completely unappreciated and unreacted to song, Winter ! It is a must ! And my favorite rolling Stone song which comes off the next album, it's only rock and roll. Is the song Time waits For No One. That is a must as well.
All your reviews are worth watching, because you are so welcoming, positive, funny, and open to new ideas. I will happily be introduced to new music by you.
When I was in my first year or two at learning guitar 🎸 young and and still like a sponge 🧽 soaking up everything I could and I finally got to the point where I thought I was good enough to tackle this song I was so excited because I’d grown up hearing it on the radio(the ultimate breakup song😢)so it was a big deal to me to get it right ya know! It took a good bit of practice before I could hit those acoustic licks without messing up but when I finally nailed it 🎉🥳🤩I wanted to shout it from the rooftops 😅😝😜🤟🤘🙌👏I had to “Angies” in my young life that this song made me sing along and cry 😭🤭with so it had a particularly strong feeling for me when I heard it and now I could play it😃😁That was a monumental moment in my teenage life💥
Thank you for reacting to this song. I think it might have been a growing experience for you tough girl. Loved the vid, loved your pretty face and loved your openness. TY and best wishes, M
Saying a name a thousand times is one thing. Angie was fictional though. Patti Boyd, who was married to The Beatles' George Harrison, and then Eric Clapton had many song penned for her (If I needed someone, I need you, for you blue, Something,[ Layla, bellbottom blues, wonderful tonight--------all for one woman).
Brought back a lot of memories this song did. Damn I’m old. Two comments, 1) you have a great smile 2) you really seem to be rolling your “R”s more than usual.
Angie was rumored to be about David Bowie's wife (who supposedly caught her husband in bed with Jagger) and even though Keith once claimed it was named after his newborn daughter, he later said something completely different. So, I wouldn't believe anything other than that it was a number one hit in America and still gets lots of radio play on classic rock stations. Here's the lyrics, firend: Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here? With no loving in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied Angie, Angie You can't say we never tried Angie, you're beautiful, yeah But ain't it time we said goodbye? Angie I still love you Remember all those nights we cried? All the dreams we held so close Seemed to all go up in smoke Let me whisper in your ear Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here? Oh, Angie, don't you weep All your kisses still taste sweet I hate that sadness in your eyes But, Angie, Angie Ain't it time we said goodbye, yeah? With no loving in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied But, Angie, I still love you, baby Everywhere I look, I see your eyes There ain't a woman that comes close to you Come on, baby, dry your eyes Angie, Angie Ain't it good to be alive? Angie, Angie They can't say we never tried
I always like Rolling Stone, the most favorite song is "Paint it Black", especially when it became theme song of film "Deer Hunter". It is Box Office movie, a film about war in Vietnam.. FYI, ANGIE SONG is about Angie the wife of David Bowie.... and she is a model.
Keith Richards wrote most of the lyrics & music one day while de-toxing from heroin. According to him, it's not about anyone in particular, although some people think it was about David Bowie's wife Angie.
Hi Biss, I know you prefer to watch videos that are live concert footage, but this is the way we first heard them and fell in love with them in the 70-90s. Yes we had Mtv and it's precursor Friday Night Videos, look that one up, but usually it was the radio, where we first our favorite songs. So when you react to a great song with just the lyrics, really brings back memories. Anyways keep up the great work. Good bye and take care
Great ballad and a huge hit for them. For another great song from that era, try Can't You Hear Me Knocking, tremendous rocker and they have a surprise for any first time listeners. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎹🎷🎶
As a teenager I had a gf named Angela when this was given heavy rotation on Rock stations everywhere on the radio waves across the nation. Love you Bisscute. Big shoutout from your hippy dude in the States. Peace. Later.
Hi Gorgeous. You are right about this song not being what it seems. The clue is at the end when he sings, "Ain't it good to be alive". It's not about breaking up with a girlfriend. Check it out. It's about giving up heroin!
You asked if they had a video for this-yes they do. I remember it is of the Stones huddled around with a bunch of roses. I haven't seen it in some time, but I KNOW this is the video for it
Excelent choice Miss Bisscute. Love your reaction Angie is a classic song fron The Rolling Stones. For future reactions you shuold react to: Give me Shelter live version, they have colaborations with several artis performing that song like Fergie or Lady Gaga you will love it.💓
FYI...Song Facts The big rumor about this song is that it was written about David Bowie's wife, Angela, who wrote in her autobiography that she once walked in on Bowie and Mick Jagger in bed together - a story Jagger denies. According to the rumor, Jagger wrote this song to appease her, but it was Jagger's bandmate Keith Richards who wrote most of the song. Jagger had this to say about it: "People began to say that song was written about David Bowie's wife but the truth is that Keith wrote the title. He said, 'Angie,' and I think it was to do with his daughter. She's called Angela. And then I just wrote the rest of it." There was also speculation that Richards' girlfriend Anita Pallenberg inspired this song, but Keith cleared it up in his 2010 autobiography Life, where he wrote: "While I was in the [Vevey drug] clinic (in March-April 1972), Anita was down the road having our daughter, Angela. Once I came out of the usual trauma, I had a guitar with me and I wrote 'Angie' in an afternoon, sitting in bed, because I could finally move my fingers and put them in the right place again, and I didn't feel like I had to s--t the bed or climb the walls or feel manic anymore. I just went, 'Angie, Angie.' It was not about any particular person; it was a name, like ohhh, Diana. I didn't know Angela was going to be called Angela when I wrote 'Angie.' In those days you didn't know what sex the thing was going to be until it popped out." >> A rare ballad for The Stones, this was the first single released from Goat's Head Soup. It wasn't typical of their sound, since most of the band's material at the time was hard and aggressive. Still, it was a huge hit, and their only ballad that hit #1 in the US. This is one of the few Rolling Stones songs that is acoustic. Keith Richards wrote this song in Switzerland after the Exile on Main St. album had been approved by the record company, but before it was released. "Angie" was one of the first songs The Stones recorded for Goat's Head Soup, which they first attempted in Jamaica at the Dynamic Sounds studio in Kingston. They got very little done at these sessions, arriving nightly with armed escort and locking the doors until they were done for the day. Much of the album was done at sessions in Los Angeles and London under more hospitable conditions. The Angela Bowie rumor picked up steam in 1990, when she went on The Joan Rivers Show and claimed she once walked in on David Bowie and Mick Jagger in bed together naked. What's even more shocking is that Rivers had her own talk show. She was quickly replaced by Arsenio Hall. Nicky Hopkins played piano on this track. He became part of the band's inner circle after working on the 1966 Stones album Between The Buttons. >>
Check out hey you get off of my cloud, and, here comes my 19th nervous breakdown, and, under my thumb. Earlier stuff that were absolutely huge hits and classic Rolling Stones repertoire.
The mood can really be felt when play it on guitar, the mood, you know. Eps. when it comes, where will you lead us from here. This is from some one who lived in the street.
Good one. They obviously have so many good songs as one of the greatest rock bands ever. Another slower one with a similar vibe that's a favorite of mine is "Wild Horses".
A while back they did have some one make some nice graphic lyric videos of some of their classic songs. That Paint It Black you did was one. I think there's also one for "Wild Horses", but there's also a video of them doing it in a studio, that's cool but not original, and I think no subtitles. Your choice.
Again, there's so many, and this is kind of a stupid explanation, but when I was younger, there used to be Red Cross disaster relief commercials that would use "Gimme Shelter", and like Carlie Simon would be leading children through a hurricane by hand, or shit like that, but another great song!
Ha! I Found the old commercial. It includes Randy Travis, fuck me! I love Randy Travis. He was a country guy back then, with some beautiful shit. ua-cam.com/video/eReMrml5TFM/v-deo.html
Biss, thing about Mick Jagger, at least in the earlier days, was he wasn't the best looking lead singers, didn't really have a great singing voice, and didn't play any instruments, but he was really good singer and always put on a great show, hence the Rolling Stones are one of the most successful longest running bands in history.
It's about a love affair with heroin. Keith acknowledged it at some point. Drugs can be like that, it sucks. At some point, you have to say goodbye. Or else...
Good reaction! The way he sing the word "Angie" is funny when you hear this for the first time. There are official music videos for many Stones song and lyric videos. Also great live performances. All here on UA-cam. Just a heads up if you react to do any Stones in the future.
Yes , even the Stones can write tender love songs. If you have ever had your heart broken, this is a go to song - P.S. Mick Jagger has just turned 80, we share a Birth Day (fortunately, not the same Year) ;)
Mick sings things a little differently most of the time. As a non-native English speaker, you picked up on that right away. An-jay instead of An-gee. I never really thought about it till you mentioned it. Another fantastic song to react to from their 'Stripped' album (an acoustic set) is 'Love In Vain'.
I have read quite a few of the comments and suggestions below, and I'm really surprised that no-one has suggested that you listen to "As Tears Go By". Another one of their softer songs; almost don't recognise Mick Jagger's voice. Perhaps you'd like to give it a try. Thanks for the reactions and entertainment 🙂
Shoot... there r so many classic songs inspired by real women whom the artist broke up with... or couldn't have... In Mick Jagger's case, one of his first loves was his GF in the 60's - model & singer Maryanne Faithful... they broke up because of drug issues. Other hit songs about real breakups w/ women include: "We can work it out" by The Beatles... 'I still love you' by Kiss... 'My Michelle' by Guns N' Roses... 'I saw red' by Warrant... 'Every rose has its thorn' by Poison ... 'Heaven beside you' by Alice In Chains ... 'Everybody wants you' by Billy Squier... 'Trust' by Megadeth ... 'In the air tonight' by Phil Collins ... 'Go your own way' by Fleetwood Mac ... etc.
Great back in time, sweet. Bisscute try 'Wild Horses' anorher one that's good. 😢😢 You are super excellent at the things you review. Thank You be safe well healthy humble and kind always.❤❤😂😂
Mick Jagger famously (enamored by the American performers from the Southern states) would try to fake an American southern accent, added to his Southern England posh accent. He was trying to be a British Muddy Waters.
I don't know if I'd feel flattered to have a Taylor Swift song about me. lol I believe the reaction to being the subject of a famous love song - "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" - was along the lines of "Eh. I guess that's nice, but I really don't care."
You are so entertaining! You do know they're a British band...right? Everyone has a different pronunciation when they sing, and having an accent will especially be different.
I think the story goes that Mick JaggerMet David Bowies wife and kind of fell for her so in order to get over her after lots of angst he wrote a song in tribute to her
Good catch, he's got a British accent of course but either way, he is saying it exactly like Angel rather than Angie. I don't know if that's just his dialect or if he's doing it intentionally, which wouldn't surprise me.
And I've never met a girl named Angie who wanted people to say her name the way he is saying it, but that wouldn't surprise me either. Maybe he knew a woman that went by it that way.
A friend of Keith Richards asked him to write that song for his girlfriend, "Angie" was never Keith's lover, the song was a gesture of friendship for his loving friend
It was on October 20, 1973, that the Rolling Stones secured their 7th US No. 1 when “Angie” made the top of the Billboard chart. It was their 24th US single (18th in Britain) and over the years many have speculated that it was inspired by Angie, David Bowie’s wife, or even Keith’s daughter. Keith, who wrote the majority of the song’s music and lyrics, said in his autobiography that the name Angie came to him while in Switzerland detoxing from his heroin addiction. “I wrote ‘Angie’ in an afternoon, sitting in bed,” the Rolling Stones guitarist wrote. “Because I could finally move my fingers and get them in the right place again…It was not about any particular person, it was a name, like ‘Ohhh, Diana.’”
Thank you for watching the video, It means a lot to me .

The best melodic ballad of the Rolling Stones. Nostalgia for my childhood, my dad loved this song, old lada, cassette recorder, wheezing speakers and magical foreign voice from them...
Brings memories of my dad too...AM radio....driving to the fishing hole in the 57' Willys.....beautiful days...
Are u russian?
This is a Rolling Stones Classic and you gave it the respect it deserved, Thank You Bisscute!!

A gentle, poignant break-up song from one of the hardest rockin' bands ever. Thanks for your reaction.

Angela Richards was born in April 72. She would have been 6 months old when this song was recorded. Have you listened to it?
Its hard to believe the lead singer Mick Jagger just turned 80. He still is an awesome entertainer. I also recommend Miss U, Street Fighting Man, and Beast of Burden. Great reaction Biss!! ❤👏
And on the 26th of this month (in 8 days) he'll turn 81 !
Because you just watched Band of Brothers, it may be a great time to listen to their anti-war song
Gimme Shelter
Over time it really has become something like the most used vietnam war movie soundtrack song.
But rarely young people ever listened to the whole song. It is very powerful and iconic.
Another song, that I would highly recommend is "Sympathy for the Devil".

Angie was really heroin , which he was trying to kick in a rehab.
I'd always heard it was Angela Bowie, and that Mick had an affair, either with Angela or David.
“Paint it Black” and “Can You Hear Me Knockn” are two favorites of mine from them. Too many others to name haha🤘🎸🤘

A rare ballad for The Stones, this was the first single released from Goat's Head Soup.
I recommend "Emotional Rescue" by the Stones, the official lyric video. Drums are the standout on that one along with the sax.
I always assumed the unique pronunciation is because he's British. If you like this song you should check out Wild Horses.
The mood can really be felt when play it on guitar, the mood, you know. Eps. when it comes, where will you lead us from here.
This is from some one who lived in the street.
Thanks for the reaction.
He’s English and it’s the way we say it, my mums called angie and we love this song🇬🇧Be lucky
Bisscute love watching you react.

Yes realy exited.... the one my favorite song
Beautiful song
Biss, thing about Mick Jagger, at least in the earlier days, was he wasn't the best looking lead singers, didn't really have a great singing voice, and didn't play any instruments, but he was really good singer and always put on a great show, hence the Rolling Stones are one of the most successful longest running bands in history.
Jagger was HUGELY popular with women, always has been.
You are really great. Angie is a masterpiece. Beautiful. Like u
Good one she's very cute and the accent is to
It's about a love affair with heroin.
Love your reactions Bisscute
Классика на все времена!)))
Yes , even the Stones can write tender love songs. If you have ever had your heart broken, this is a go to song - P.S. Mick Jagger has just turned 80, we share a Birth Day (fortunately, not the same Year) ;)
😅😅
una delle più belle canzoni di sempre
Mick sings things a little differently most of the time. As a non-native English speaker, you picked up on that right away. An-jay instead of An-gee. I never really thought about it till you mentioned it. Another fantastic song to react to from their 'Stripped' album (an acoustic set) is 'Love In Vain'.
The best song of the stones.....
This is the first song I learned to play on guutar
Shoot... there r so many classic songs inspired by real women whom the artist broke up with... or couldn't have...
'Go your own way' by Fleetwood Mac ... etc.
It's a heartbreak song
Nicky Hopkins should have officially been a band member.
Hi Biss....now just so i know you hear this at least once today....you look amazing and beautiful. ❤❤❤
Yes, I used you up. Let's give up. Great inspirational song for love in this world. 😝
I like it band great song
A Master piece!!
Great.
Still a beautiful song
Onde você andava que nunca escutou "Angie"?
Where have you been that you has never heard "Angie"?
Stones are so legendary, so when you see Johnny Depp as Captain Jack you see Keith Richards :)
Thanks ❤
Masterpiece ❤
Great back in time, sweet. Bisscute try 'Wild Horses' anorher one that's good. 😢😢 You are super excellent at the things you review. Thank You be safe well healthy humble and kind always.❤❤😂😂
The video is on youtube ❤ 2:43
Mick Jagger famously (enamored by the American performers from the Southern states) would try to fake an American southern accent, added to his Southern England posh accent. He was trying to be a British Muddy Waters.
I don't know if I'd feel flattered to have a Taylor Swift song about me. lol
I believe the reaction to being the subject of a famous love song - "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" - was along the lines of "Eh. I guess that's nice, but I really don't care."
You are so entertaining! You do know they're a British band...right? Everyone has a different pronunciation when they sing, and having an accent will especially be different.
The story was that this was written about Angie Bowie....
hermoso un cclasico.
🤩
I think the story goes that Mick JaggerMet David Bowies wife and kind of fell for her so in order to get over her after lots of angst he wrote a song in tribute to her
also just a heads up I got a telegram notice from you that IO won something
If you want to know what Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones thought about women, you should hear "Some Girls"
Schöner Song aus meiner Jugend wo man noch Steh Blues tanzte.🤗
Recommend: Check out Carly Simon. Her song Your So Vain talks about some of her relationships.😊
